Rolex is a different brand, Patek is a Rolls, and Rolex is a Bentley. I own a Rolex Datejust ref:126234 and I just love it. Really good watch for daily use and very comfortable. A Patek is nice but not for daily use, its just too fragile. Also when you save up some money you can afford a Rolex, a Patek is just out of reach. I think Rolex can make watches as good as Patek but they just don't do it because they don't want to be in that price class. But ofcourse I love master pieces like this Grande Sonnerie.

Just think about being a watchmaker. Sitting at a high table with in a quiet comfortable room with an eye loupe and rubber finger cots and assembling this thing all day every day. No distractions, no interruptions, just you and a pile of parts and nothing else. Besides just the skill needed, the type of person who can focus like that is a rarity in our society today. I can't go ten minutes without glancing at my phone.

Did you realize, that the second hand is not alighned properly and jumps inbetween as it is in case of cheap quartz movements? My trust in Patek Philippe is shaken!
Looks like the jumping third hand does not stop exactly on the mark.
