Ministry of Manpower should have taken the responsibility to recruit instead of letting "recruitment agencies" to recruit overseas for manpower. Many agencies take advantage of people who doesn't know the actual overall fees of working in Singapore and took a lot of advantage to make a big buck. This is what Singapore has become, a rich country with so many people in debt. One day the bubble will pop and no amount of reserves can pay off the debt.
Lies again? NRIC Card
MOM should have tougher stance on this
This is our MOM problem!
I think our government must do something about this and not act blur all the time as this migrants are helping building our home.
sorry to be offtopic but does anybody know a tool to get back into an Instagram account..?
I somehow lost my password. I would appreciate any tricks you can offer me!
@Izaiah Johnny Instablaster :)
Government don’t care. They don’t see these people as humans but as machines to extract value from.
Oh please these are men who made deals. Stop interfering. Think about the money that would be lost by agents and recruiters
This isn't new, it has been going on for more than 15 years as far as i know. I knew of this when i started working in construction sector. The blangahdesh working as a middle man makes more money in one month compared to what i make in 3 years. And that guy is still working under China Jingye MCC.
Its not the job but the pay.
Only 400+ how will singaporean survive
U need at least 1500 to survive in sg for basic needs rent(600-800)+utility+food and transport.
If job i think anybody desperate enough will take it if the pay is enough to cover the living cost
boohoo
Have you done National Service?
Ns need to pay rent ?
As a reporter and Media personnel (and Singaporean too), she should have articulated English more eloquently.

Welcome to SG
If the terms are so bad why do they sign up for it?
Please sir or madam do something for that problem 🙏🙏
why PAP don't import them directly so they don't have to pay recruitment fees. everybody thinks they help build homes here. they are paid not free services.
MOM are well aware of this situation, they have the power to check on agencies, how can they allowed the workers to pay recruitment fees.....this is Singapore......we have to be fair to these foreign workers....🤨🤨
What decent human being would “cheat” another human being like this? Karma
You'll only see change once about 100 migrant workers commit a series of suicide due to depression related to non payment of salaries, cheating them through money etc.
Wow $13.5k salary for 4 mths is quite high for a migrant worker?
Thats right Singaporean are different to migrant workers. Education makes the difference
Joy doesn't sound local
These workers need to tell what really happened to their family back home, so that to spread the awareness not to fall into these cheat schemes, or else more will find themselves being enslaved just to get a job secured and get salaries of peanuts. These have been happening for ages, hidden corruption is why these things get buried eventually, exploitation is global. Remember who built our homes, roads and keep our city clean, most of these migrants were and are.
Employers are in cahoots with recruitment agents...simply
Exploited job portal
Assistant Civil Engineer can’t even speak English? How many Singaporean diploma holders can actually fill his role? It’s all about the Money! Nothing else will make his employer turn away from cheap labour. MOM, what are you doing?
You guys just woke up from a slumber? This has been an on-going issues since the 90s.
Nonsense about the IT knowledge and literacy levels of the Indian foreign workers. Maybe partly true, but what is mostly true is the interface is badly designed and UX is bad.
Mostly in the construction field ,the boss companies are making money on the misery of the workers.
However ,boss says ،they give job to workers who will use this money for their family .It’s better than ask the alms.
In the country like Singapore without Union Workers ,the workers are not protected.
All people are finding their counts except those who died,or sick ,or sink into depression.
We are all human ,we are all different.Your limit of fatigue is not the same than an other person .Your limit of stress is not the same than an other person.
Maybe your colleague is happy ,but you don’t have the same limit ,so you are sinking into depression.
Consider workers or even salary like human ,not like a robot who must do always more to generate money that will benefit for shareholders.
Someone or a group of people have become tens of million rich for being recruitment related ?
GOOD JOB
if some workers 14 days over stay in Singapore,, he next time can go Singapore or can't
If these people went to university and studied hard they would not need to work in construction. Too lazy, too many complaining
someone offer jobs to kenyans to singapore
Why does the title say Migrant Burden? Why is this channel so nationalist?
I think the ones with power should now and slways use that power to employ at s cost that is not beneficial to worker. If you are rich you dont want others to be rich, you want others to need to beg you, andctreat you like god
