The backbone of our housing, roads, public transport system and more. Thank them as and when you see them because they leave their hometown to earn a living to support their families back home to make sure Singapore is vibrant as ever.

Absolutely! As a Singaporean that has moved abroad to Europe, the term expat applies to anyone that has moved from another country regardless of where they came from. Funny how it is different in SG.

I work with them in the construction industry, they r mostly nice pple, BUT, do not become too close to them, they will try to overstep boundaries and 'test water' from time to time, then they will approach u for $ lending la, endorse their family to come for visit n not leave la and assorted nonsense, so my policy is '1 & done' don't get too close
