I've been dreading the thought of enrolling at Capella. I couldn't be more happy to hear this! Thank you!
Perfect! I was saying good bye to ever doing my degree. That tip helps as all your videos do! Thank you! 🎉
Ok THIS is a GOOD one!! THANK you soooo much!
Oh man this couldn't be more timely, I'd just accepted my fate and enrolled to start Capella flexpath next month. Really shooting for grad school so I wasn't exactly ecstatic for that.
Going to go ahead and apply at UMPI, thanks so much!
It would help if you could look over my stuff maybe ?lmk about a consult
Thank you for your videos! You've lit the fire for me to go back to school and finish my degree!
It's my pleasure. You got this! And if you need help, shoot me an email (ryan@9monthgrad.com). I'll see if I can help you find the fastest path.
I’ve been doing UMPI’s psychology and beware! Some professors are horrible and literally want you to fail. You have to pass every assignment to move on to the next same with the final and if you don’t pass the final from my understanding you fail the entire class regardless of assignments and quizzes. I’m pretty stressed this first semester it’s been scary.
Thanks for warning us! I hate the project based approach they use. WGU has a new psychology program that might be a better fit.
I just requested information from capella and I was honestly dreading it. Then decided to google one more time after hundreds of times , fastest way to get a psychology degree to become a therapist and your video came up. Talk about Gods timing !!! I emailed you , would love to ask you a few questions.
That's amazing! I'm so glad you found me. I emailed you back. Let's see if we can save you some time and money with your degree.
For everybody who hasn't heard of the news yet, Western governor's University (WGU) HAS FINALLY added a bachelors of science in psychology program that is 100% competency base just like the rest of their programs. They just added it on the 15th of February of this year. do you think you can make a video about it? The program info should be on the website. But I am so excited!
Thank you so much for sharing. Yes! WGU added a psych degree, FINALLY!
Hi Ryan
I have my associates in Psychology, and am hoping to earn my bachelors as soon as I can.
Which of these paths should I take, and what is a realistic timeline for me to do this?
Please keep in mind I have been used to taking 15+ units a semester in traditional school and working part time (20 hours a week).
Ryan,
Do you find it difficult for students who have a majority of their credits from Sophia and then transfer struggle to get into masters programs for psychology? I am timid to go straight into a program and fast track it given I am a very slow reader and processor. I am smart but I’d say on average my experience with schooling I am always very slow. I don’t want to attempt to save money and fast track if it’s going to actually take me 2 years and double the money compared to doing the 80-90 transfer credits from Sophia. Thoughts?
Having even a Bachelor's program accept 80 to 90 Sophia credits is pretty rare. But if the Master's program you're trying to get into will accept a Bachelor's that's majority Sophia credits, then that part isn't a problem. You just need to map that out ahead of time.
I may be able to help you lay out a path here. Shoot me an email (ryan@9monthgrad.com). Give me some more detail about your situation and I'll see if I can help.
My question is . I didn’t do any Sophia nor have any previous college credits but I can start fresh on January 16th or should I wait until March and take the Sophia route ?
Depends on what school, and what your goal is... But you should be able to do either way. Shoot me an email with a little more info and I'll be happy to give some suggestions (ryan@9monthgrad.com)
The question is will a grad school accept something like this for a master’s in order to be able to become a therapist? If so, it’s a done deal for me. Any thoughts on this?
Yep, you just have to choose the right programs. Shoot me an email and I'll see if I can help you map something out... (ryan@9monthgrad.com)
UMPI is not as easy as you could learn from somewhere else and then do the Milestones and Final with the sources from ouside the class materials. Some professors insist that you read the supplied sources and cite them in the writing.
Yep, UMPI is writing heavy. If that's not your thing, WGU has a new Psych program that's exam heavy. You can test out of your classes.
UMPI is a really good school. Plus, some of the final exams aren't proctored
Is it some or none of the final exams are proctored? What I heard from others is that they don't have proctored final exams for any of the courses, instead you write final papers like thesis papers. Is this true from your experience?
They have writing project for final, no proctored exam as I am aware of
How do I get in contact with you? I have like 60 credits already I need help on how to allocate and transfer them to obtain a bachelors. I’d like a consult let me know
Shoot me an email. (ryan@9monthgrad.com)
Let's see what we can do!
There transcript don’t list GPA which is needed for completing your masters at a different school
There are hackable schools that do offer traditional GPA. But in most cases, it's actually not needed. I've seen Ivy League schools accept students from schools with the Pass/Fail system. Most schools are 100% comfortable with the Pass/Fail system because they require a B or higher for a "Pass". Which in most cases meets the GPA requirements for acceptance.
UMPI use standard GPA
I am looking for accelerated BS in psychology degree let me know if there any new program starts for bachelors of science
Update ?
Update?
Well, good news for you, Western governors University just added their very first bachelors of science in psychology program. If you don't know WGU is a competency-based school so I think you can finish a psychology degree here in 6 months. They just added it a couple days ago. So I think that school is another good option.
Put the accumulation of 3.0 or 4.3 for example I want my transcript to say 3.
I have 90 credits to transfer to get a bachelors in Psychology will the tuition be a lot? I have a budget with my employer.
It depends how fast you graduate. With these flat rate tuition programs you pay for the amount of time you're enrolled. If you come in and finish in 1 term, you only pay for 1 term. If it takes you 2 more years, you pay for 2 more years.
Can you talk more about Purdue University
I'll add it to the list.
Is this BA program in psychology from UMPI regionally accredited?
Thanks for your time!
Yes! If you want the self paced program make sure you're looking at UMPI's "Your Pace" option.
@@9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671 Thank you for the response!! :)
I earn psychology degree but I have 0 money credit 😢
What should I do please reply
Shoot me an email with some more detail about your goals and situation and I'll see if I can help. (ryan@9monthgrad.com)
FYI it seems like there's an issue with your website
Thanks. I fixed the link for this video. Here it is if you still want to check out the Degree Hacking Training: www.DiplomaSecrets.com
Going rouge made me pass my Mandarin classes 😅
That's awesome!
Are the course proctored exams ?
With most schools yes. But some schools use mostly essays, homework and projects instead of proctored exams.
UMPI no proctored exam, only project writing for the final
Is this easier than wgu?
Wgu doesn’t offer psychology I thought
UMPI is hard for me but for some people they can pass a class in 2 days while I was struggling for 2 months
