I made the pinto bean quesadilla with fiesta cheese tonight for my family’s supper and it was so good. I added 1/4 tsp of each to the beans garlic powder, onion powder, cumin and kosher salt. Sooo yummy!!
Very interesting and entertaining! I grew up in a large family with 6 other children and one tip my mother gave me was to keep all pan or pot handles turned away from the edges of the stove so that little hands can't reach up and grab them. I noticed that you don't do that and you'd like to know. Also, you should never boil your vegetables because you lose too many nutrients. Steam them in a steamer basket in your instant pot for about a minute with just one cup of water. You'll love the results.
I buy the discounted French bread in the discounted section of my store. My family prefers French bread French toast rather than sandwich bread. I try to keep a loaf or two on hand. Makes great garlic bread on the grill too.
I think I'm gonna try a 25 dollar challenge myself haven't really tried to be cheap cheap in a minute. Thanks for the inspo👌, hope y'all enjoyed your vacay😊❣
I really like seeing your portion sizes when you dish out the meal. My parents always gave us huge portions and made us eat it all so now I really struggle with “real” portions
I got one of those clip on pasta drainers on Amazon prime day and I love it! All your meals looked delicious I’d say you definitely met the challenge 👍
Great idea to spray tho other side of the tortilla. French toast sounds delicious! I've never tried the poor man's soup. I will try that! Thanks so much for sharing!😍
Seriously. My sons dad complains I don’t make sides but anything -main meal-I do make they usually don’t eat leftovers so I spent money(my own),had like 8 panic attacks,& missed out on sleep before work just for it to mostly end up in the trash. I didn’t cook for a couple months. I’m trying to now but only 2-3 times a week the rest is leftovers or daddy can cook.
Did you save that bacon grease? Its good for sauteeing and soups. I store mine in the fridge and it saves you on oil or your store bought oil will last a bit longer.
My house has the built in JennAir grill but I haven't used it since I bought the house. Now I might just use it. Now maybe I can figure out the pellet stove in the sunken livingroom.
Your poor man's soup resembles something I make from basically any leftovers. If I have leftover grilled meat, I add that instead of browned ground beef. I add some tomato sauce or any kind of tomatoes if I don't have tomato sauce. I add seasonings, beans, a package of frozen vegetables unless I have a bunch of leftover veggies to use up. I add garlic powder, chili powder, onion powder and whatever other seasonings strike my fancy. I add some pasta .. I usually don't use potatoes. It was something I used to whip up after church when everybody was hungry from whatever was hanging out in the fridge.
I added sausage (like the ones in your crockpot video) to the beans/rice/corn/cornbread meal and it was PHENOMENAL! I know you had a budget to stay under for this video, but just wanted to let you know I used your recipe and it was delicious! love your videos!!
If you have corn tortillas you can make some easy chips by cutting them up and frying them. Probably works with flour tortillas but I've never tried it.
Hi new here. Love the ideas! Do you ever post a grocery list in the description? I was going to just add everything to my online order and just re create everything.
Do you ever use seasonings or herbs? That pasta was screaming for some salt and pepper and basil. The green beans were begging for some bacon grease, onions, ham, brown sugar, anything really!!!
I have seen some other so called budget meal vlogs where they go over budget and the add lots of things that they conveniently left out of the cost eg herbs and spices, butter ,milk etc .
Yes I noticed that too, onion and eggs add up with milk, butter. $30.00 would still be budget but more accurate even only taking the portion cost of those.
My grandma always told me if u soak your pinto beans the night before in water it takes all the gassiness out of your beans didnt know if u knew that or not

I love this series of cheap meals. You always manage to make good meals for little money. It's appreciated.
You had some great meals! Can I have your leftover change since I went over 60 cents? 🤣 Thanks for collabing 😄
🤣
You guys both did great jobs love both of you guys
😁🤣😁Great collaboration Y'all
You did it. I never saw french toast made without milk with the eggs. Good to know it's a thing.
I thought the same.
This is what I was coming on here to say
Same! I dip it in milk and eggs and then while it’s cooking I sprinkle cinnamon sugar on it. So pretty similar but I’ve never seen it without milk.
I agree - I’ve never seen french toast without an egg/milk mixture for the batter.

That is such a good idea!
This makes me want some beans and rice with cornbread.
I can't get over how you come up with such great meals.

Baby crying in the background while Mama is trying to make dinner...#reallife! I miss those days. My babies are all grown. 🥰😥
Try a little bit of vanilla extract to French toast
I got one of those clip on pasta drainers on Amazon prime day and I love it! All your meals looked delicious I’d say you definitely met the challenge 👍
Love your budget videos!!!
I always make my soup with ground chuck, lots of flavor. Cornbread is really good with this soup!
Great idea to spray tho other side of the tortilla. French toast sounds delicious! I've never tried the poor man's soup. I will try that! Thanks so much for sharing!😍
Love this, I’m gonna try to convince my family that we do this one week out of the month. I spend WAY to much money cooking for kings.

Me too!
Would have been awesome to saute' those fresh green beans in!
@@NanaPapa123 yea😋
Why do you put bacon oil in fridge. Am I suppose to? I keep it on counter. 🤷♀️
@Khristina Alden It could go rancid if not used right away. Can also attract bugs.
Love it! I am so envious of your built in griddle and pot filler 🙀 Thank you for the awesome meal ideas! Your kids are precious 🥰
My house has the built in JennAir grill but I haven't used it since I bought the house. Now I might just use it. Now maybe I can figure out the pellet stove in the sunken livingroom.
So happy to see you and Jen collab. I LOVE both of you.
You did an outstanding job with such a modest amount of money to work with. Fantastic and creative, as always!
your so creative ... unbelievable what you can up with minimal ingredients ...these definitely help to stretch pennies 💛💜

Your hubby wondering around in the back ground made me giggle!!
nvr seen french toast without milk
Thanks for your videos thanks 💘 😊 love and make all your meals thanks 😊 have a great vacation 😘 😀 😊
“Sour cream iit up, y’all “ LOL!!
We love breakfast for dinner, too. I always put a little milk with the eggs and cinnamon to make the French toast egg mixture a little smoother.
I added sausage (like the ones in your crockpot video) to the beans/rice/corn/cornbread meal and it was PHENOMENAL! I know you had a budget to stay under for this video, but just wanted to let you know I used your recipe and it was delicious! love your videos!!

It will. You can also put sugar and cinnamon on the fried flour tortillas. A very good desert.
I always love your videos so much! Thanks for sharing!
Hope you are enjoying your new 🏡!! 😊
These were great ideas for meals! You and Jen did a fantastic job! Thanks Abby!!!
Jen Chaplin sent me. Thank you for your video 😊
My son won't eat French toast. Why? Who knows. But he loves waffles, so I just cook thre French toast in the waffle iron and he eats it up. Lmao
Haha mom 1 kid 0 lol kids are so easy to fool 😂
My son won’t either and when I asked him a few months ago if he wanted waffles for dinner one day he said only frozen ones, not if I make it. 😂
I usually use a George foreman grill for the quesadilla. Faster and crispy edges, too
The giant length of that package of bread!!! Our sliced pans here in Ireland are about half that length. You got loads for $23! Well done!
So happy to see you in your kitchen! These are great recipes
Girl you had some great recipes!! Love this $25 meal challenge ♥️

Hi new here. Love the ideas! Do you ever post a grocery list in the description? I was going to just add everything to my online order and just re create everything.
I enjoyed all these tips and recipes
Do you not add milk to your French toast batter? I also like to use day old bread that is slightly dry. 🥰😪
Hello, I’ve come across from Jen’s channel, it’s great to see what each of you came up with. Well done.
What's really good if you try tortillas with cheese and turkey meat pop it in the microwave for like a min and serve with ranch 😀
That sounds good!!
I am inspired!! We as Moms can multitask as I saw your little one in arms while cooking.
You can take vanilla ice cream and mix eggs and cinnamon and it’s so good.
Thank you so much for doing the extreme budget meals as some of us had requested when you asked.

Enjoyed the video! Yummy 😋 ideas!
Have you ever tried making quesadillas with two tortillas? It’s much easier than the fold over method. :)
Personally I think they’re easier to flip when folded in half.
Love this series of meals!
Came from Jen's channel! We have family in Belton
That creamy pasta looks delicious! Super cheap too.
Looks great. (That French toast goes further and is creamierif you added a little milk or sour cream to the eggs)
