When I make burritos, I put them on a parchment lined sheet pan sprayed with oil. I mist the tops as well. I bake them on 375 for 10-15 minutes, flipping once. No oil to clean up & the burritos still get crispy & the cheese melts.
That ramen stir fry is a great idea and so simple. I was looking for meal plans this week and im definitely going to do that one. I dont like spending alot of time cooking cause we are a house hold of 5 and im currently pregnant with family member number 6. Im always busy cause of it so that one is definitely going to be super helpful thank you.
Instead of frying my burritos, because I usually need a lot of them family of 7... I spray a sheet pan with oil and baked them flipping half way through... taste almost fried and they are all done at the same time.
Can you please do a video for all the teachers out there that have no time to heat up their food? Healthy lunches that can be eaten at room temp? Thank you! All of these meals look delish!!!
How about a fresh spinach salad with grilled chicken or tuna over top of it? This could be leftovers from dinner at night before... Or mac 'n cheese casserole with ham or bacon tossed over the top for protein and flavor... Croissants baked with hot dogs in the middle, with fruit salad on the side.
@@lj46158 What is sad about that??? Teachers have breaks. Teachers at middle school or high schools have a planning period, and a lunch break. Teachers at elementary schools have less time, but breaks are mandatory for employees. You have to spend most of your time working at every job. Lunch breaks are always given to employees at any job. Are you a teacher?
That brand of Jambalaya is delicious! But to me it's kind of salty, so I combine the packet with white rice, and if I feel it needs more salt I add salt or chicken buillon. I also add 1 bay leaf, shrimp or chicken and green onions 👌👌
If you want to make a lot of grilled cheese at one time put the sandwiches on a baking sheet. Then put another baking sheet on top and bake in the oven. You can have 8-10 grilled cheese sandwiches in no time. 😀
Some of these meals could be less than $5.00. They are so simple and such great ideas for the empty nesters out there, as well. We look for new, rather than routine meals for a change. Everyone be safe if you live in the ice and snow areas of the country. We have had such a mild winter in the Southeast, we are due for a few weather challenges. Your kids are sweet playing in the background. It warms my heart. ❤️ Blessings from Alabama.
Just throwing it out there and I know it's probably a pain to do the voice over for these but I love listening to you during my commute with me not having enough to sit and watch you prep. Congratulations on the merch and channel growth!
Budgeting better with my groceries has been on my mind with the rising prices. This kind of video is very helpful for me and I am sure many other people right now. I try to budget best I can but I know I can always learn. I’m making lots of food for my cooking channel so I use a lot of food, so every penny I can save on groceries counts. I hope that we can continue to learn from each other. Never stop learning and growing!
We had pizza quickies growing up. My mom would make toast, put it on a baking sheet and top them with pizza sauce, american cheese and pepperoni. Then bake to melt the cheese. We loved it. I used to make the pizza grilled cheese for my daughter.
I make mini pizzas using canned biscuit dough. If you use the store brands you can get the 10 count roll for 75 cent on sale and pizza sauce for 75 cents. I put two biscuits together and spread them then add sauce and 1/2 slice of mozzarella cheese ( 15 cents). Bake at 350 for 15 min. on greased cookie sheet. Makes 5 for total of about $2
Update: tried the Ramen. It was soooo good! It was like cheap Chinese lol bit it was delicious. Made it during the winter storm when we had power haha! 😅
I’m really excited to try these. I’ve been in a horrible rut lately, opting for ordering out. These are simple enough that I can dig up the motivation. Thank you for the ideas! ❤️❤️ My budget is screaming from convenience purchases!
Yummy! We do the taco lasagna, but I call it Dorito Casserole. I use Doritos instead. We often fry lean ground beef to layer in with beans and corn💞Serve with taco toppings like lettuce, black olives, avocados, onions etc., as our budget allows!! I'm excited for my shirt order to arrive💜😃
Here's a tip for the tortilla lasagna: Cut your tortillas in half and put them in so the edges face the edges of the pan, one layer left-right, the next layer top-bottom. You will get better coverage across the pan and no tortilla-less sections of 'lasagna'.

Some other cheap meals I make. Dice a potato, onion, sliced sausage link or you can use hot dogs. Fry it up in a skillet my kids eat it up. Cost about $3.00-$5.00 for family. Tuna patties. 1 can of tuna, crackers or bread crumbs, onion, bell pepper, 1 egg. $1.00 a serving.
I do a Ramen stir fry with steak, remove it from pan. Then boil water, break noodles up and add veggies( usually fresh broccoil). Add package seasonings, stir fry sauce and steak back to pan. So yummy
Do you add the chicken seasoning into the ramen noodles as well? Or just use the stir fry sauce? Thanks!! Been trying so many of your meals this month, and they are great! We haven’t made one we have not liked yet! 😬 thank you so much for doing this!
Sadly these all apply to my family of origin. I realized several years ago that my feelings of not being loved while growing up weren't just all in my head and started the healing process and limiting contact with them. A lot of counseling, reading and learning self love have helped me come a long way and I focus on the relationships I have with people who actually care about me and I them.

Kinda wished you would talk and explain what you’re doing as you’re going because I watch these around my kids and if I look away for second I miss a step.
I always make my grilled cheese in the oven on a sheet pan. Just put your butter on both sides and cook on 350 for like 8 minutes per side (or until you like the color of the bread).
I 💖 your $5 dinners thanks for all your hard work and Happy Valentine's Day 💘💐💜 to you your family and everyone one out there❣️ I hope everyone stays safe and has a wonderful day, here in Texas stuck in doors due to the ❄️ winter ice storm all our roads have ice, so this video what this mom needed today 😊. I hope everyone who is stuck in the storm is staying warm and please don't go out if not needed guys stay safe all🙏🙏🙏
Lazy grilled cheese. Toast bread in toaster and butter for taste. Put cheese slices in between two pieces of toast and microwave until cheese melts. Less than 30 seconds. It's good for one or two people and less messy
Thanks for more great recipes! Love these quick, budget friendly meals! Can't wait to try the Jambalaya and the Ramen Stir Fry! I'm going to add some chicken to the ramen. Looking forward to trying them! I love your channel! I know it is A LOT of work to make these vides and I appreciate it so much! :)
I love these videos, thanks for helping us save. I wrote them all down. Trying to only go to the grocery store once this week, It's ridiculous how many times a week I stop.
I’ll try the grilled cheese pizza! Great idea! I usually make pizza with leftover naan breads or fajitas but i’ll try it in the pan with regular bread next time! Thank you!
I was just looking for restaurants that are open, but this looks amazing! I think I could make them all just need to eat in a hurry. I'm starving. I used up all of my calories yesterday clearing out 2 to 3" of ice off the sidewalks in TX. I'm blessed tho. I haven't lost services like so many others have, which maybe because I live next to a hospital. I can't move, my legs are killing me!
I bake homemade burritos just spray with cooking spray. Super easy. Also the taco bake is a great way to use up leftover chilli too. I enjoyed your video

Love your husband at the start :) you guys are honestly just the sweetest cutest couple ❤️💕
She’s getting cocky cuz she got merch.
Lol!!!!!! Your husband is funny. Thanks for great ideas!
Do you think the taco lasagne would be more evenly layered and easier to serve if you cut the shells up first?
😲 love the pepper smasher
It’s a life saver!
Your hubby is so funny!!!😉

I also add onions to the saute for jambalaya and throw in a can of rotel and tomato sauce with some water. Got this from a friend.
"You're just getting cocky cuz you got merch" 🤣 gotta love the hubby in the background
The pizza grilled cheese took me back to having French bread slices with pizza toppings! That was a favorite of ours growing up!!!
Yessss!! And I have continued to make those for 30 years!
Just what I love! Easy, quick meals. My kind of cooking. Please bring on more of these. Thanks
I love these videos. I literally watch them and make my grocery list.
Awww I’m so glad they are helpful!
I’m literally doing this right now lol !!

Nice, I need to start doing it this way 💖
That will not taste the same.
Oh how I wish you had made a Simplified Saver apron to purchase!
I will have to make one!
I also like the Zatarain's Dirty Rice, I usually add a roll of just breakfast sausage (I prefer the sage sausage, if you can find it).
You always have such budget friendly good meals! Thank you so much for sharing and giving me new ideas!

Promotes merch but my broke ass is watching this for cheap meals

Use a recipe like this and alter it. If it calls for 2tsp of Cajun seasoning only add 1tsp etc. ❤️❤️❤️
The dollar tree sells Cajun seasoning too so you aren't spending a bunch of money on something you may not like.
I add fresh diced celery and grated carrot and it seems to calm some of the spiciness down!
For the stir fry do you use the ramen seasoning packet?
Microwave tortillas for I little and it would make it easier to fold
That will still be good thank you, what eles dose it call for?
We're did u get the pepper chopper at? I really love your channel
