They said he wasn't talented....and compared to them theyre right. But he works harder than them. Which I think is why he will have mutiple chips when he retires. Hard work can mean everything.

      @@davehamilton4761the difference here is that Kobe was talented/gifted, just not nearly as much as his all-time great counterparts, everyone going into the NBA is talented and talent can nullify talent, the level of talent can matter which is why players like Luka are better than your average role player but if you work as hard as Kobe did it almost doesn’t matter, almost.

      No he wasn't and I'm a Kobe fan. Go look at his best dunks and compare it to the dunks of Vince Carter, MJ, LeBron, and you'll see that he really not as gifted.
      The.fact you think he's super athletic is the point he's making. Kobe overachieved in all areas and made us believe he was jumping out the gym like Vince or Zion, but he really wasn't, young Kobe was a bit more athletic but he's not Blake Griffin 0 rings, Vince Carter 0 rings, Zion zero rings, Shawn Kemp 0 rings.

Vegeta was NOT "naturally gifted" lol, he was of noble blood and royalty which doesn't equate to the same thing but how ironic with that parallel as well because Kobe's father was a former NBA player so I guess he was just SUPPOSED to naturally become the best player in the league someday, right?

    Some times it’s all between the ears. We use to say similar things back in the 80’s and 90’s about Wayne Gretzky. Lots of guys were bigger, could shoot harder, were faster, were stronger but he still holds most of the offensive records in the NHL.

Mike, Russell Westbrook, Derrick Rose, D-Wade, T-Mac, Vince, hell even Iverson's athleticism/explosiveness for his size was elite/superior NATURAL talent. Kobe's natural talent was good, not great and certainly not all time level at the likes of those names aforementioned. That he's singlehandedly the only guard really put in the convo as being on MJ's level speaks volumes. He only could've gotten their from superior SKILLS, the kind that are so great he very well probably had to be more skillful than MJ to even be in the conversation alongside him.....

    That’s exactly why I love Kobe so much. The dunks he used to pull off cus he wanted to be like Mike but he couldn’t float, the footwork on top of pump fakes on top of footwork and the mentality to never quit coming at your throat.

    Talent its a crutch. Every time something comes easy, one doesn't cherish it as much nor appreciate it as much. Thus one doesn't value it as much and don't fight for it as much. R.I.P. Kobe.

    Not to mention that he was exceptionally intelligent. I doubt that there has every been any other basketball player that understood every aspect of the game like he did. Schemes and tactics, footwork, how to read defense, how to read offense, and last but not least psychology. He knew exactly how to throw off people with mind games, he studied the temper of each opponent, the level of aggressiveness, how they reacted to physical and non-physical provokings.
    If he had chosen to be a QB in the NFL and followd through with the dedication and passion we know from him, I believe he would've become the goat.

    Will there ever be another Kobe? Not in my lifetime, he became the face of basketball for 2 decades and was the greatest player in the eyes of many, I wish I could’ve been alive to have watched my bulls win in the 90s with MJ but I was able to watch Kobe, he’s one of my GOATs
