Remember having a hob filter and it stopped working well after some time, giving it a cleaning didn't work so i threw away the old one then i made my own filter. At the time i did not know about your video. I built mine last year and today it works perfectly. 👍Good video advice👍!
My air stone got clogged and caused my sponge filter to stop working like a car our grandpas been working on for years. That sh*t ain’t coming back to life
yea the little shimmy while the pump runs/just roughing up the sponge works pretty well. just remember this isn't actually doing anything other than aesthetic if anything remember that it can even disrupt the biology cause slower flow might have been nitrifying differently. you should probably follow up with a filter clean X amount of time later depending on the biological load. HoB makes this job easy, i haven't dipped my toe into canister filters yet
My plants love this! I have a goji plant that was being destroyed my spider mites. I got my daughters stickers pink spray bottle and went to war with the mites. Then, I gave the plant the water and it’s growing like crazy. Even in this triple digit heat in Texas for the last 3months straight 🥵

I removed all filter media from my Oase and added 1 sponge filter on the intake to catch the big particles. I will never have to open it again and the flow is super every day
Niceee ya ive herd of people basically removing all the mech. Media from the inside (other that the internal intake tube). But i like your method too! Might try today ;)
@AQUAPROS Basically I use filters for the flow, not to try and get more bacteria surface. Everything in the tank is already a bacteria surface. Plants, sand, rocks, (the fish?), glass, sticks 🤷🏾♂️ I risked it, and it paid off
Hello, I am facing a problem with the filter after it was working well for about a month, and now water is coming out of the back. Has anyone faced the problem? The filter has been cleaned from all places, but the problem has not been solved.

While filter is on close the valve and then unplug filter. Open valve and plug filter back in. That helped me as well.

I take the sponge all the way off and wash in sink there plenty of bb in the actual filter itself
