By the way, fun trivia on the final segment with the girls at the end of the song (the "Never ! Never ! Never !" part), this was sang by a certain Mr Devin Townsend on the album, and he wrote his own parts.
You should check out the studio recording of this song. It features Devin Townsend (who actually wrote the lyrics for his parts on this album) and is really damn good. Hell, the whole album is great. One of my favorites from Ayreon. Also Michael Mills (the trench coat guy) is an incredible musician in his own right. He's from Australia. Has his own band called Toehider (which is really just him doing everything himself). Highly recommend checking out some of his stuff.
I always fully endorse reactors to check out some of Mike Mills' stuff. Toehider is just awesome. If Chase wants to see Mike having some fun, check out his solo play-throughs of either On And On or How Much For That Dragon's Tooth.
One of the few that I like the album version better....you're missing the Devin Townsend part of the song in the live version! But...awesome song and great reaction. The Human Equation is top 2 or 3 Ayreon albums.
Know you probably don't care, but the guy with the trench coat is Michael Mills who sang the binary code section in "The Day That The World Breaks Down". The taller of the women that came out at the end is Irene Jansen - Floor Jansen's sister.
Arjen did a concert Beneath The Waves recently. You know how you wanted a live version of The Day That The World Breaks Down, it happened. I'll give a little spoiler/incentive. When Floor Jansen is busy, you get Marcela Bovio and Floor's sister Irene. Also Age of The Shadows from this concert. Brittney Slayes is not human. Her planet forgot to take her home thank goodness.
Omg. This concert was the most memorable event I've ever been to. Even Rammstein and Nightwish pales in comparison and I've seen all the singers. Although I suppose it being in Holland might have affected my perception.😅Still watch it about once a year though and it's still brilliant.
Really cool song, album and live show. Been lucky enough to see most of Ayreon / Arjen's live stuff as the latest couple of big shows were done in my hometown of Tilburg, 013 venue. Micheal Mills also just kills anything he does, his solo band/project is well worth checking out - Toehider. He did a whole range of live stuff during Covid, really added a bit of joy at the time. The singer for me sounds like a cross between Mackie Messer from the Dreigroschenoper (Mack the Knife), and Judas in Jesus Christ superstar. By the way the big "LUL!" at 5:32 is a Dutch swear word (Dick in English)
I know you love a good blues song, so I recommend you check out Ayreon's live performance of Amazing Flight. As a bonus you finally get to see Arjen himself sing live
I have this DVD at home - easily one of the best investments of my life. Period.
Yup. If my house catches fire it will be one if the things I grab on the way out
@@shorey66 👏
I run Aryeon and other concert DVDs through the surround sound so the neighbors can enjoy as well.
Loser (the original album version) was the first Ayreon song I've ever listened to. I'm hooked ever since!

My favorites are Day 11 Love and Day 2 Isolation.
Mine too! My top three are Day 2 Isolation, Day 11 Love, and then Day 3 Pain.
The whole Human Equation album is amazing and definitely worth a listen.

Been there, you should see the whole concert. So nice that you did this reaction❤ thank you
I love your reactions. So glad to see you!

Oh neece, no spoilers! Hahahah remove the ending part of your comment 😂😂😂 let him be surprised 😊 it was an epic ending right? So fitting ❤
In context to the show this is a Father telling his son he is weak and will always be a loser, but it’s the father who is the loser

sorry ? but the concert was not in Holland at all but in the Netherlands, to be precise, Tilburg in the province of North Brabant..
@@mandje2002 Sorry for the mistake and thanks for the education! 👍

Day ? Pain for me.

I want to see this keyboardist in a throw down with the keyboardist from Yes
which one? Rick Wakeman?
Always enjoy your breakdowns of songs Chase, can you do Marcin - Classical Dragon feat Tim Henson? (Tim also has his solo part up on his channel)
