- In order to do this job. You must get the bypass module flashed to the vehicle and settings changed. The seller or shop you buy the unit from can do that as well.
The kit:
Compustar 7900as
Blade TB bypass module.
Settings:
Tach sensing
Double pulse Unlock
Silent Horn Honking
45 second dome light delay
Thanks for taking time to make this and this video helped a bunch!
Anytime
Great videos! I bought and alarm like this after watching several of your video. I felt confident(lol) now not so much 😅 hope you can help with my issue I got the compustar CM900-AS (installing on 2010 tacoma no immobilizer) im a bit confuse with what wire to use on the starter anti-grind relay (engine lock relay as is label on the compustar box )
Are you wanting to do a starter kill?
Great video, but Sir who do you think I am. I would not attempt this, those wires look like a maze of confusion. I thought maybe I'd try to look at this video but yeah I will leave this for the pros. Thanks for the video though.
Its mainly for alot that always say its easy. It just shows whats really involved. I get alot of people that say that:). I praise your honesty as it does get complicated at times, but to me its just another day in the office
Will this work without the blade? Cus my 9900AS kit did not come with it. I am installing it in a 1998 Isuzu Trooper.
Yea it works withoit blade. Yours should be a basic setup so a blade shouldnt be needed. Also confirn at compustart.idatalink.com and i put your car to see of it shows anything as far as bypass modules. Doubt u need one
@@FlipSideGarage It does not have a factory alarm either, so I just use the blue/green lock and blue unlock wires correct? The black status out, orange factory alarm arm, orange/white factory alarm disarm, pink/black neg trigger start in, pink pos trigger start in, and blue/white starter kill wires are not needed right?
Excuse the green wire and the pink wire which vehicle wire is connected to.

Time stamp?
Can you clarify whether the Blade needs to be programmed/flashed before installing into the Compustar unit? Or does the programming happen when it is installed, the wiring all done correctly, and then the vehicle started?
Needs flashed before hand
Where did you buy the module trying figure out how I get the settings changed so I buy from correct place
I order all my products from my distributor.
@@FlipSideGarage any other place you recommend ?
@@LuiLui617 unfortunately anywhere. I cant speak for other stores as I only trust my distributor for years.
@@FlipSideGarage ok cool thanks great video man just what I needed
@@LuiLui617 good luck with the install. The seller can also flash the firmware and everything for your toyota
Yeah i've done that several times/I have the install guide in front of me . I've printed it and I have it on the screen😁. The problem is that on the connector the wires are not at the same pin location as shown on the install guide. Two of the locations given on the install guide are empty on the connector, Those 2 are TX and RX. At the location of the parking light I see a different color wire.
Id advice calling tech support. Just to be sure.
I dont want to accidentally give tge wrong guide and cause damage. Tech support would be the best option
@@FlipSideGarage okay many thnks. I will👍
Great video! I;'m from South America (Ecuador) And I was able to install a compustar 7900AS everything works but the remote start :/ just tries to start and nothing. Can you help me please? My car sienna 2011 3.5 with the key to start the vehicle (the one with the G symbol)
Thanks!
Did you flash the bypass module specific to the vehicle and key type? Do you have a black or grey key?
Is your settings also set for tach senseing or voltage sensing for remote start
Is there anyway you can help me out with a 2007 tacoma. Starting doing it already and can't get the red light to flash green did it the same way as your video and now I'm stuck
Are you using a bypass module
Hey Goodday. I'm from the Netherlands. Here we sadly have no compustar dealer. So I'm depending on fellas like you to properly install my system. I have the compustar 7900AS. I bought the Al Blade and flashed it allready. I want to install this in a Toyota Prius V 2013. I have the install guide from idatalink. From Bulldog security i have the vehicle diagram from my car. I have several questions. On the install guide they showed a fuse of 7.5 amp by the 12v input of the main harness . Must i replace the 30 Amp with this 7.5 amp( a very big difference !). I assume that i only have to use the the wires/connections shown on the install guide of idatalink.
U can use a smaller wire gauge since its only a 7.5 amp. Yes on putting at least a 5 amp as if it needs to pop the fuse. U dont want the fuse on the compustar to be higher.
They have the optional T harness as well if you use a compustsr dc3. Minimal wiring and splicing.
@@FlipSideGarage Thank you for the quick answer
Goodday I encountered some difficulties installing the unit. It appears that the location of some of the wires dont match with that from the car. In fact on this specific connector (L7)none of the location shown on the install guide are correct. The colors with the specific wires are there but they are at different locations. These wires involves two data wires RX and TX and the other is the parking light. What can i do to find out which wire is the correct one? I purchased a wiring diagram of my Prius V 2013. but is little hard to find the connector on the diagram.
Go to idatalink.com
Input ur vehicle and choose the bypass module. It will show exactly where wires are pee connector

@@FlipSideGarage I do see the wire( colors) they give but at different location.
@@FlipSideGarage I can test the parking light, but for the other two wires TX and RX; I don't know what they stand for
@@Ricardokhufu65 they are data signals
hello, I really liked the video, I congratulate you, I'm sure I'll lose help to see if you can do it for me, please make a video programming a compustar cm-7200 alarm, to adapt it to a 2017 golf gti, how can I move the safety locks agency along with the original alarm or if you will have an email to be able to communicate greetings
I have a video on how to program remotes to modules. They are all pretty much the same procedure.
What did you mean by safety locks agency?
Hello, how can I integrate the cm-7200 alarm into the golf gti vehicle, so that it can be used with the integrated agency alarm, regards
@@mauriciocorrea3566 Id recommend taking it to a skilled technician
Volkswagen have a complex system.
Hi did same alarm install ,also bought from same place as you everything works just truck lights come on but no crank am i missing something using a AL BLADE but that is what the sent me programed already ,thanks for any help
Did he provide wiring diagram too?
When it tries to remote start. All lights come on and just no crank?
Yes basically the same diagram as your video only thing is the 2 wires that go into obd mine only has the orange and black but my blade stays solid red
@@armando6969ish so its wired and different from this tacoma?
Lights come on and sounds like when it's about to start but just doesn't
@@armando6969ish when you programmed the blade tb. Did it complete per instruction?
Installed the same kit onto my 2015 tacoma and all works except the horn, looks like it was overlooked in the video. What was the cable that controlled that again?
White wire(small wire) from the controller.
@@FlipSideGarage to what harness on the tacoma?
@@carlosbrito4195 green/red pin 10. Fusebox 18 pin plug
@@FlipSideGarage thank you.
@@carlosbrito4195 anytime. Use test light or vm to double check
So this should be exactly the same as a 2005 ya? Great video!
Irs different
@@FlipSideGarage balls
The TB blade is always necessary on any vehicle?
i believe only if ur car has a transponder. most cars do, but some don't. if your car starts with an all metal key, it doesnt have a transponder.
in this one yes
One more question You said the blue is ignition one . I hear other guys saying the blue is ignition 2. ?
Yes the blue is set default to power an ignition. Igntion 1 and ign 2 are the same. Just needs to be ppwered seperately.
@@FlipSideGarage Oh okay I understand this now. many thanks. Tomorrow i will install it. It's night time already here in The Netherlands so will install this tomorrow.
@@KennethMayland good luck. Holler if you have anymore questions.
@@FlipSideGarage Yes😂
@@KennethMayland how did it go you installed everything correctly?
So where does the pink wire go i don’t have an immobilizer/blade?
You dont have a flashing secuirty light?
Per bypass module
If it does t have immobilizer,of Inre it needs to be grounded. Please double check the bypass module guide to be sure.
@@FlipSideGarage only the light coming with the kit. I’m installing this on an older sports car with a custom harness. Goin through the wiring diagram/descriptions to get an idea of where everything goes. Just can’t figure out pink, or pink/black.
@@lagunaspeedchewie1141 wires vary per vehicle.
Okay, a bit confused by your response but you did say they should just be grounded correct?
@@lagunaspeedchewie1141 the wiring is all different per vehicle. You stated you are doing this in an older vehicle. Therefore it varies by what vehicle and what the wiromg guide shows.
still got that J32 teggy?
Sure do
How did you change the green/white to the starter 2?
You can change it via setting option 1. Same category line where the parking light + is. It can be changed to a starter output. Or you can use an Op500 settings programmer.
@@FlipSideGarage thank you I found it. Does that cable need to specifically be starter 2? What happens if I connect to starter 1 on the car? A diagram shows the 1 and 2 different from the service manual. Little confused
@@ipenguin1662 it requires for starter 2 to be powered seperately. Thats where the parking light wire being switch to starter signal.comes in. You still need to wire the starter 1. If starter 2 isnt hooked up. It will not crank.
@@ipenguin1662 power starter 1 and starter 2. Its the only way for it to remote start properly.
