It is inevitable because SOCIETY enforces this divide at one point or another. It's better to explain it to children so they WON'T resent each other and resent the inequity of the system instead. Can't go through life with blinders on.

@@ButcherPeete Okay, so the theory they base all this bullshit on, where it all comes from - explicity states that it's entire intention is to create a racial divide in society by 'revitalising the radical tradition of race consciousness' that existed before Dr King and the civil rights movement came along to erase it - that s, racism and segregation. The proponents of this theory are lying when they say this is about equality for all. Read the textbook, you only need to get as far as the intro before they are admitting they do not believe in 'judging people by the content of their character rather than the colour of their skin', along with other things they don't approve of, like the ideas of equal opportunity and meritocracy.
It is designed to create and enforce this divide, that is literally what their academic papers are arguing FOR enforcing.

I remember when we used to rub our puppy’s nose, its shit, to get him house-trained. Just because equality and racism exist doesn't mean we rub our noses in it. If anything, it just breeds resentment and desensitises you to it. Questions are not relative to experience, you cannot eradicate a behaviour only educate, and you don't do that by stigmatising. And if you can not see the immorality of the excise being performed on these children, we are chasing our own tales and learning nothing.

1970’s racism was a real issue; now, it is a political football. Laws have been introduced, including hate speech. It is socially unacceptable. Positive discrimination exists to the detriment of white people, yet we are still told that we are racists. Much of it by white-feminists who have made this a career. The woke identity politics has to stop it hurt our society and creates mistrust in our interrelationships.

In the UK it makes a large difference is the parents originate from the West Indies, or from West Africa. If not mistaken, in the UK kids from Africans immigrants do well, and definitely largely outperform working class white kids.
Or when looking at the US, despite the narrative that is being pushed forwards, skin colour appears not be an obvious factor when you see that by ratio more black people die in interactions with the police than white people. You see an outcome, but the cause appears to have little to do with race (till about a year ago, I myself thought it did). Will provide some details regarding the latter below*. When you see comparisons based on race, the numbers often are not even adjusted for age. At least not in the New York Times or Washington Post. But for instance comparing the wealth obtained by an average 40 year old white person with that of a 30 year old black person... might already lead to differences that have nothing to do with skin colour.
So,.. you can see differences in outcome between people of different skin colour,.. but how much do you think that skin colour determines the outcome?

*Policing in the US:
It is framed that it is obvious that racist police in the US is (at least part of) of the reason why more black people during interaction with the police die, compared to white people. Yet, when trying to look at the data to see if causation is a factor, it apparently ain't that obvious (as for instance Roland Fryer found out in 2020 to his surprise). Fryer did found racism when it involved non-lethal police violence, bot not when it came to lethal police violence. Also, when looking at the incidents it isn't obvious. It are just the incidents that get mainstream that gives this impression.
In 2016 there is a white George Floyd in Dallas, also on camera. The differences are that Tony Timpa repeatedly said "You're gonna kill me" instead of "I can't breath". Timpa had a medical record instead of a criminal record. And in case of Timpa, the officers went free. No protests and riots for Tony Timpa in 2016. However, there were protests for Michael Brown in Ferguson that same year. But once again, no protests for Daniel Elrod whose case is similar to that of Brown, which also happened in 2016. Even this year Breanna Taylor still gets named once a while. Yet the white guy that died the same way, nobody knows. If not mistaken, it even happened a day earlier. Yet, Taylor is brought forward as evidence for racism. And this list continues.
Meanwhile, I myself am convinced that as assumptions are the mother of all screw-ups, believing a faulty narrative can have bad consequences. It certainly does not help solving the issues that indeed do exists. But that will result in another lengthy post.

The 'privilege run' is something else entirely and isn't supposed to be just about race. They are doing this completely wrong and conflating two separate things.

Honestly who has the time these days. We barely have enough time to pick up kids from school and feed them something that won't kill them (at least in the short term). All these toxic multicultural attitudes coming in from America is just destroying the beauty of our future society.
In Britain things are slower to adapt yet there is a deeper sense of unity in the wider community. In America they promote all the right laws but underneath they are still very deeply divided.
The best thing you can teach kids about race is to let them figure it out for themselves. Anything we tell them will only create bias.

I came from a family of Eastern European immigrants. We did this exercise and there was me and a black kid in the very back who had only advanced 1 step from 10 questions and what made it worse was the teacher then accused me of lying. When she asked how we felt in the back she obviously didn't want to hear my answer but I told her I felt fine because my GGF who hardly spoke English taught me that no matter where I came from if I work hard, focus on my family, and make good choices I can be a success in life growing up in America.
Having parents that speak English as a second language often means your parents are ambitious, resilient, and bloody hard workers who teach you well and set a fine example. They taught you to think critically, and that's the best thing you can be taught!

I had a neighbor that was my everything. Neighbor, classmate, school bus buddy and only ninja friend at age 8. One day when the teacher was out having a baby we got a sub for 2 weeks. During that 2 weeks we watched the entire series of the slave movie ROOTS. In the beginning we all laughed because we seen the guy off of Reading Rainbow looking rough. After the 3rd day half the class was laughing at the other half and no longer with us. Day 5 my buddy began hanging with the bully and booger eating Tabby who flipoed a booger on him in kindergarten. I think the bully had kids he was raising. Well i wasn't allowed to sit at the lunch table of 6 chairs with 4 being used because my buddy's matching ninja turtle lunchbox was using the seat. Saturday we was cool. Sunday his mom yelled at him for letting me show him a new wrestling move which he's practiced his new moves on me for years without issues. Monday he gives me a new nickname " burnt biscuit". I thought it was funny. Even went home and called my sister one. Got poppedin the mouth for it. By Wednesday he was auctioning me off for a strawberry milk at lunch. I wasn't good enough for the chocolate milk? 😂😂😂😂😂😂
But long story short, that day i realized what racism and segregation was. It was taught. Still see my buddy at age 42. He remembers. It'll never be the same. I have PTSD because of this. Maybe he isnt that peeson as an adult. Maybe it was kids being kids but it's too many kids being kids that become unchecked adults. Maybe its me that hasnt forgave nor forgot. @@wiseman3132 Well it all came from the Frankfurt school in Germany in the late 1930's who used Marxist principles to construct critcal theory as a way in which to view society and especially western society. It was then picked up by schools in France and later America with the first and second wave feminist. But inherently critical theory is rooted in comminism. Everyone should have the same amount of equity. Where equality of outcome is forced upon the people by the state. Aka communism.

I have never been more afraid in my life. How does a big channel and a big school come together and say we teach our kids how to perceive the society from our point of view not from their own experiences. By teaching racism and segregation between the color of our skin we are not helping the issue we are easing everyone in to it and giving the children the persception of "Its okay, since we are the ones teaching you this you should know you don't have the power to stop it, since we are your mentees in early life".

Most immigrants, or the most varieties of immigrants, started coming in the 90s, though most people can point to exceptions that came before that such as the Windrush Generation or East African Asians.

Not only the producers and teachers of this programme have quite successfully managed to divide the kids based on their race, but they also made sure that the white kids felt guily of being white and the black ones felt victimised and resentful to their white friends. This is wrong and counterproductive and it only creates resentment in innocent happy children who have never cared about the colour of each other's skin. Moreover, this poorly executed attempt to show institutional racism is by a large margin biased, because many of the questions asked, such as whether someone has ever been asked where he came from or wherer someone's parents' first language is not english has absolutely nothing to do with racism. And I seriously doubt that any of the victimised kids in this video can't do things that the white kids can, since they are allowed to play together without any privilege or oppression no matter what their skin color is.
The best thing you can teach kids about race is to let them figure it out for themselves.
Everything we tell them will only create bias.

The kids probably stopped being friends after this. So sad.
These teachers don’t debrief each and every student about how they felt about the exercise. Instead, they just assume they did a good job, having no clue what the kids are thinking afterwards. The kids are left on their own to come up with a conclusion, some not even caring or understanding the topic fully. Some may think that this is all just a game and start thinking that they’re better than everyone else, or at least better than the kid that got left behind on their own. Some kids in the back may start realizing that the world isn’t fair and start hating themselves for not being white. Because honestly if I was a kid, I wouldn’t really understand what was going on and feel like I was being left behind in the back because I wasn’t white. As a none white person, I’ve had moments as a kid when I hated myself for not being white. This would’ve literally just confirmed my inner thoughts.
I think that’s the point of the exercise. It is not an easy watch, many people may not have this experience, but unfortunately many do. I definitely have and like you recalled from your experience it sucked. We all should never have to feel inferior because of something we have no control over. Also, we should not be dismissed because our experiences have not been the same. ❤
A debriefing was definitely needed, I hope they did. Unfortunately in life we aren’t debriefed after these racial incidents. We are actually told our experiences are invalid and not reality.
I'm white af and i would still be at the start line based on these questions. This proved nothing other than people have a different upbringing. Not 1 question was based on race but rather based on assumptions and what parents taught them.
