In a study by Dr. Elad Steinberg and Dr. Nicholas Stone from the Faculty of Sciences, recently published in the prestigious journal Nature, the mechanism by which radiation is created during the process of stars being torn apart by supermassive black holes was revealed. Using computer models that accurately represent this entire process, the researchers gained insights into what happens when a star gets too close to a black hole.
