I don't know if it will help you but here's something I did a few years ago (since Covid I think): I don't watch the news on TV anymore (too much anxiety), I go everyday on Google News, read the headlines, read a few articles about topics I want to know more about and that's it. That way I know what's going on without feeling overwhelmed. For Instagram, I unsubscribed from every account that gave my negative vibes, and disliked some content about topics I don't want to show up on my feed. It allows me to have only good vibes there (negativity is everywhere, I don't want more on my "chill time", thank you Mister Algorithm!)
I deleted Instagram last year and my life and daily habits have benefited so much! I never downloaded tik tok and the next app to go will be Pinterest and any shopping apps I have.
My goals for 2024 is to save money by doing a low/no buy and to focus on myself and loved ones.
I’m also getting married so planning a family will be a big focus for myself and my husband 😊

Rachel, I love how you showed your edge (in a good way!) in this video. And the advice you shared about feeling your feelings so you can move through them was so well said. Don't forget to add fun habits to your tracker too. Sometimes I think we all need to remind ourselves to incorporate some fun activities or rituals into our daily lives, things where we can let our hair down and laugh, relax, or learn something new.

In terms of finding fulfilment and purpose, I'd like to recommend giving volunteering a go. I was struggling with finding purpose and wanting to give back to the community in 2023 and after a discussion with my local city council, I was paired with a NFP organisation that helps the homeless. There are many charities, NFP organisations, etc that are desperately looking for volunteers to help out. :)

I had a look at the fake Stanley cup from kmart and I thought of the practical side of things that if the straw gets mouldy you cant buy replacement straws. So I brought a steel drink bottle. Be practical not trendy

1hr 13mins is my daily instagram average. I have set a limit of 2 hours to share with that and Facebook.
Also I have always called having your hair half up/ half down an angel tail. That’s what my Mum always called it. The long bow is cute and feminine.
I do understand the question “who am I” we continue to grow and change, I find I need to do this once every decade.
I think what you were saying in regards to the Stanley and Ugg slippers, is, we’re growing weary of being influenced.

One thing that works well for me with implementing habits is determining why I don't feel motivated to do a habit. For example, I was having trouble staying consistent with my skincare in the morning and I realized that it's hard for me to splash my face with cold water right after getting out of the warm bed. So I started washing my face when my alarm first goes off, and then I get the rest of my snoozes to warm back up.
Hi! I love your content and I love the bow and how it looks on you, I have several of them and have been using them before it was a trend and will still use them when it's not a trend anymore. I'm 38y by the way. I love them and feel like they give a romantic touch, so if you like to see it on you, just keep using it! I think we only should jump on trends that make sense to us, and for that to happen, the self discovery you talked first is fundamental. Then you will be able to be more conscious with your choices and be sure that you are being true to yourself! I love that you are showing us this side of you and helping us think for ourselves along the way! Thank you!

Hi Rachel, I've set an app timer for instagram. Only 1 hour a day then it turns off. At first I was hitting the hour very quick in the day and now I find that I don't get to the hour turn off anymore
Just checked and I spend an avoid 40 mins a day on instagram and half hr on FB (mainly groups). I actually thought it would be longer. What I’d like to reduce is the number of times I check it. I’d love to make it a habit of only checking at set times of the day. I find ambitious goals to easy to fail. I’m definitely aiming to increase or decrease from this year (eg walk more, scroll less). I’ve massively reduced (over last decade) the amount of news I consume and avoid watching before bed. I also stopped looking at gossip style magazines and reading negative/gossip articles on famous people. Engaging in your new community will help you settle & make friends. Donating to local food bank is a real easy one to get you started and often connected to a community hub that run other things. Will definitely get my teens to check their screen time and look at reducing

Hey Rachel! The hair bow actually reminds me of Victorian times a little bit? I’m bad at history, so maybe that’s the wrong time period, but especially your black with black feels like you’re going to an evening party to me. I work with children though, so I do understand your bow conflict. That’s why I didn’t buy one the other day. I may go back and get it though because I keep thinking about it.

I'm also struggling when it comes to the dilemma of the world atrocities, should I get on with my life while Palestinians are literally being wiped off of the face of the earth. What's all my problems compared to what they're going through. Am I even allowed to be happy? But when I dive too deep I get so depressed and can't stop crying and at the end, how's my misery going to help them? Anyways thank you for this great video.
