The narrative of this song is great; it describes a life of dreams with a beautiful house, a loving woman, a cute dog, a happy family, and friends who have helped him achieve everything he has. It expresses immense gratitude for the love and support received during that process, and despite his father not having taught him discipline or not being present in his life, he managed to move forward and didn't end up as an addict, a loser, or a psychopath like other people who took the wrong path. But then, it takes an unexpected turn and mentions that it was all just a dream, and in reality, he has nothing, only an infinite hatred for that materialistic and unscrupulous society that's messed up. It also talks about not finishing his studies and being glad he didn't, because had he accomplished it, he might have become an addict, a loser, or some kind of psychopath like those messed up people with airs of perfection that surround him.
Yeah I love this song and these lyrics.
Little note: In the first part, he has actually does have the discipline and competitive streak, and thanks his father for it. "I'd never [have] made it, not if my father never made me do sports."
what I love about it though, is that it isn't just this black and white division, but you can also hear him expressing a true longing for the things he describes in the first part, even while he tears them down in the second part, it still feels like in the end remorse and nostalgia are the strongest emotions.

This is literally the only artist i listen to the live version of their songs. The live are so much better than the album! Ive never felt this way about an artist. Their music is truely magical. Every single song is felt deeply in my body and you cant help but close your eyes and sway/bop. May one day they get the recognition they deserve ❤❤
