    loved the up-close look at the 'esc' :)
    if you hadn't sold it, you could've taken it to a vet for xray and maybe reveal some hidden secret screws

    • @BrunoPOWEEER
      @BrunoPOWEEER  4 роки тому +2

      Hahaaaaaa yeah just a 98s (400v) 220kW “ESC” hahaha physically quite small for the BIG power it can handle hey? Ohh now that you mentioned the X-ray I’m like “I knew there was an easy and better way” but my brain just went blank and didn’t even consider that option... still would be painful removing that plastic cover in front of the PCB and separating the gate board from the RGBT power board both glued together with conformal coating =/ Not impossible but very time consuming and delicate task. X-ray POWEEEEEEEERRREE ohhhh yeaaahhh

    Nice! Yeah, it's a problem when you lose power and sync while motor spinning -- with no load for the generator to dump into, the voltage spikes and fries the mosfets/IGBTs. Would hope they could have solved that.
    I'm on my 3rd magic pie controller after losing battery connection during regen - once from a loose connector, and twice from BMS regen overvoltage cutout coming down a steep hill with a 3/4 full battery that overcharged it. So, better to disable regen overvoltage or set high or just connect directly to the battery and use the BMS for monitoring/balancing! Waiting a couple of weeks for a new one to arrive is painful!

    This would be an excellent candidate to put in a small front wheel drive manual hatchback possibly once you iron out all the programming of the controller ..? Thanks 🍷
    ( An Arduino expert can write a program and just ditch this Tesla controller altogether and use a standalone controller that can be programmed to via laptop!) So it's more swap friendly.

    Hey Man, I wonder if you could use a suction cap tool like the one they use to carry glass and heavy aquariums? You can rent these tools cheaply and the big ones can apply 78kg of force...
    Or maybe you could get a plastic welder and weld some plastic handles onto the plastic face plate to try and rip it off...

    • @BrunoPOWEEER
      @BrunoPOWEEER  4 роки тому +2

      Yeah I have some of these big suction cups but that plastic plate isn’t straight so that option isn’t an option. I could force that plastic cover out by hand, there are lots of tabs in every side, could break them all and remove the whole thing but the PCB underneath is also glued to the power section PCB that is the next layer underneath. Flexing that big PCB isn’t a good idea. Not impossible but painful process need to be done very slowly. Maybe fishing line to cut the gel between the boards?

    Hello mr poweeeer ! I wanted to ask if you can recommend some good source(books,paper, hp) for getting into the basic and further knowledge of EV? To answer the FAQ: Like how to choose motor, why choose wich voltage or amp setup, how controller works, safety setups (...)
    I would be grateful for any recommendation - and oc keep up the amazing mix of content you post! I hope one day i'll understand everything I watch here. The only way I see for this is to start my own project! cheers and greetings from germany

      Yeaaahhh... I always wanted to make some proper video tutorials explaining basics step by step, pros and cons, how the controller works, how a BMS works, I have these in my “TO DO” list but I’m a bit slow here on UA-cam now that BabyPOWEEER is keeping me busy but I definitely intend to make these proper tutorials here =]

    If it's already a write off..
    Try hot and cold on that potting.
    I reckon a dry ice to freeze it and make it brittle would be the one..
    If not give it a day in the oven..

    • @BrunoPOWEEER
      @BrunoPOWEEER  4 роки тому +1

      The good thing about the conformal coating they use is that it’s just gel, can easily pick with your bare fingers. It’s just super messy and the fucken PCB is “glued” with this gel in front of the power RGBTs só need to carefully pull it. It’s an awkward position but a fishing line would’ve helped. My boss ended up receiving a good offer for the motor before I even tried to fix the controller so yeah too late now.. I packed all back together put the original Tesla logic board and sent it already. Hopefully they can fix it. If not I’ll ask them to send me and I can try

    • @BrunoPOWEEER
      @BrunoPOWEEER  4 роки тому +2

      The downside about heating up in the oven or boiling electronics to remove conformal coating is that capacitors may get damaged and make the whole board crazy or in some cases even damage other components.

      Not a good Idea but it would work, it isn’t a good idea because since the motorcycle is light weight the motorcycle would go faster than a Tesla itself and you’d crash.
