The Chet Republic Should watch Custa's live streams, amazing guy and real smart. Not sure how he would match up against the other pro supports but as a streamer hes great
The way Seagull put it was perfect, it seems like based on how he said there's double/triple the amount of good players & teams, it's just a matter of time until an all-star Korean team rises out of the ashes to stomp the entire world at OW I wish we could just clone Seagull and have 6 Seagull's fight against this future all-star Korean team lol
Seagull is really about an average skilled pro player, like if you were to pool all of the pro players in NA, he would be around average, maybe a bit above the average.
seagull is flex player in pro scene means he can play any role nicely, his genji is top tier tho.. many good player in overwatch overall but many of them not going pro, skill wise there's many player better than seagull in talent pool
Seagull absolutely NAILED IT! This guy is Paying Attention to what's going on in All 3 scenes. He is Very popular in Korea because they recognize his talent. Can you imagine him in a team like Lunatic Hai or KongDoo Uncia? His Genji would shine like a blazing star if he had Miro watching his back, and Ryujehong sniping heals left, right and center. As he said, it won't be long before the Koreans literally get a team made up purely of star players and band them into an unstoppable machine.
Brother Faisal Seagull, iddqd (or Surefour/Shadowburn), Ryujehong, Miro, Grego and Panker would be my picks for a solid team. You would have just about everything covered. I refuse to put in any EnVyUs member as their team is the best in the world at the moment, and I'd rather think of a comp that would Best Challenge them. Seagull is SO versatile in his hero pool, from dps to tanks, so he'd be the flex player. iddqd would be the hit scan, and he is a great hit scan, alternative would also be Tviq, another great hit scan. Grego isn't seen much these days, but memory serves, he was a damn good Lucio player. Ryujehong, is simply the ONLY Ana that is better than Chipshajen.....by a slim margin, but he is still better. Miro has more than just skill. He GAME Sense and knowing when to go in and be a nuisance vs. when to fight it all out is pure magic, he would protect Seagull Genji as he ventures into the back line, or be the perfect partner for Seagull's Zarya, along with Panker.
:) Because he's the most objective, and that's his greatest strength, all of the others have to great egos and are too subjectives and that theirs greatest weakness. Seagull also will make a great coach after he'll grow to older for the pro scene and will not have fast enough reflexes anymore. It would be so great if he'll be starting to write a book series about gaming, all of them will be international bestsellers.
damn jack that's pretty fuckin edgy how about you hobble along back to the schoolyard and get bullied some more just so you can try and take it out on people who are infinitely more successful than you online o shit
Seagull is definitely correct. He's not saying it just to say "oh Koreans are good" but to actually make a valid point about how underrated Koreans are, and he backs it up with facts and experience, his own personal experience. I don't know about the others, maybe they don't have as much experience playing against other Koreans as Seagull does, such as with tournaments and competitions, well as far as I know Cloud9 and FaZe, I'm not sure about the others, but yeah, Seagull is so right. I would LOVE to see a huge tournament where all the regions are mixed, and I'm talking professionally with the pro teams, not like the Overwatch World Cup.
There's been a big misconception that Korean don't play FPS games because they don't have a big presence in popular Western FPS games like CS:GO, but the reality is that Sudden Attack, a F2P Korean clone of Counterstrike that predates GO, is immensely popular there. On top of that, Overwatch has been narrowly beating out LoL as the most-played game in PC Bangs in Korea almost from the time it launched, with only a few minor dips, which means loads of people are putting in a lot of hours, cultivating a lot of talent.
Also, I think that the Koreans values teamwork over individual skill, that's why they don't really prefer CS:GO, but overwatch with much more team work involved you could almost call it a MOBA.
Seagull hit the nail on the head with this one. Everyone keeps spinning all these myths about the korean meta and players, but they're absolutely going to dominate with their insane player pool. I just hope we can keep up. X.X
Seagull is the only player in this video that knew what the fuck they were talking about, everyone else just didn't care about korea enough to realise that they're in deep shit. I liked this video because of the analysis Seagull gave.
Came down to the comment section to talk about Seagull's speaking patterns and his knowledge but everyone already said it. Basically he's very articulate and composed without being particularly subjective. I think that all of the players had good points, however seagull was clearly the most knowledgeable. An interesting video to be sure hearing the different players' thoughts makes me excited for the next big tournament featuring teams from all three regions.
Seagull is the only pro that was interested that well respects the Korean's OW players and gave his insight. Too bad his teammates are trash so he'll never be able to compete against top tier EU and Korean teams.
If you just keep the Seagull part no content will be lost from this vid. Perfect summary and analysis. If you can provide more, I'll subscribe for life.
After watching this... Im fucking terrified of Korea now. It seems Seagull is the only one paying attention out of NA and EU right now, and when that korean all star team gets assembled, which it will, mostly likely soon, NA and EU isn't going to be prepared. I think that if the NA and EU dont get their shit together soon and start paying attention, we are going to see Overwatch become another Korean dominated game. This is just a little extra bit I wanted to get out, but this video is a reminder of how much it sucks that Seagull who really seems to have a lot of potential because hes so open minded, is on NRG, which is while not a terrible team, it is definitely not good enough for Seagull to really shine.
Organizations like Cloud9 and Faze are from NA, but they hire players from outside of NA for whatever reason. So technically, they are from EU, but they play IN NA, so they are NA players.
I know everyone else has said it before, but FUCK YEAH SEAGULL HYPE TRAIN!!! He was the only player who truly answered the question and did it very thoroughly & concisely. Gotta love that guy. #seagull
Seagull getting POTG in this video, how he spoke was incredible and respectful for all matter, gained more respect from me now...good on ya mate...keep up the good work!!
Korean teams come together to form teams, whereas western teams look upon a skilled individual and hope to build upon that one player. What team envyus does so well is that they achieve both goals in developing good teamwork and possess great individual skill. They might have gotten a little lucky with how well Harryhook is playing offensive heroes at the moment, but I'm sure they'll only improve upon their success in the future if can attain both fundamental assets.
they showed that teamwork is the best way to go. I just started playing OW but I've noticed people more often than not just do their own thing and don't communicate but when the game ends bitch about everybody
watching this now and realizing seagull predicted this future. in one year korean overwatch is leagues above EU (which is shit right now) and NA. The only team that can even be regarded as competition to korean pro teams (after their Apex season 4 experience) is EnvyUs (on their good days).
Korean players are starting to achieve better aim skills now, and EU/NA teams are starting to improve on ult management and combos. Mendokusaii made a good point about finding that middle ground, and pro teams are building themselves around that.
One thing that needs to be pointed out: Na and Europe: Continents Korea: one small little country And yet somehow this small country is considered to be as or even better than the rest of the world (proud to be korean)
I really like seagull's one. He really respected Korean players, and he did well on his investigation. Korea must be good..You know, we have the fastest ping in the world, and there are PC Bang (internet cafe) in the whole region - it makes to have many effect on students. It's like early education. In conclusion, yeah, the teenagers in each country have their own culture, and Korean teens have a deep culture to play computer games in PC Bang.(bang means room) And it leads to excavating many talented players. t y for reading and sry for my bad english. Have a nice day
Fast forward to now and seagull does his own game analysis on his channel (though they're not serious) and hes already "retired" from the OWL. Are you from the future?
When I first saw seagull play a game and brag on how he saved his team. I was thinking man this guy needs a shower what a loser. And I stayed liked that for a while but after hearing him talk right now, I figured out how he got so good at overwatch. He is very analytical and articulate. I have a new found respect for him.
James Jung he's a really down to earth guy. If you watch his videos he's always happy and it doesn't even seem like he takes the game very serious at times
The same thing happened in LoL. Back in season 2, we saw M5 dominate every team all year and everyone underestimated the koreans with that "EU/NA rules" attitude . In the world cup the koreans beat them easily and from then on they only got better. I'm sure that's gonna be overwatch's future.
I agree with Seagull, I think the problem NA and EU have is there isn't enough going on to pull the players together at the amateur competitive level. There aren't many small town gatherings or local group lanning that goes on compared to the amount that you see from Korea. It's impacting the potential roster that EU and NA have. They just aren't aware of it yet.
Matt Roche it's probably the stigma surrounding video games in the US. If you're in the US and you're trying to play competitive esports as opposed to say going to university, it can be somewhat looked down upon or even shunned. As opposed to Korea where you're a professional athlete and everyone strives to be better than the other. This competitive and prideful perspective is common in Asian culture.
"I'm at MLG, NA only tournament where are the euro teams?" 12 out of the possible 24 players in the semi finals at MLG are from EU and the winner was 5/6 EU. Any smart EU team would move to NA for more money/sponsors Blizz is obviously going to favor the NA OW league too. Also pretty sure the BR teams in CSGO aren't considered NA by the fans even though they compete and live there.
the difference in ability between NA and EU teams when being discussed isnt about origin, its about where they scrim and queue. an NA team made up of EU players is still considered NA because they practice in NA, scrim with NA teams and generally have the skillset, approach, and mindset that NA players have out of necessity to match the peers they are competing with.
Sparky If you know Puppey (a very famous Dota esports player, also a heck good strategist and analyst), you can very much compare the two people and come up with the same persona
Korean team been doing this picking the best of the best from like 30 teams. I don't think eu or na would ever catch up to them. Korea is just moving m forward and getting better
China has good players too -- if you play LOL you know China has some very insane talent. Same thing for OW. It's just people hasn't recognized these guys. I watch Chinese game streaming a lot and found a few really good guys. Looking forwards to China's team in 2017!
Just fyi, when Seagull was talking about the team LW Blue taking 2 star DPSers from LW Red.....that new team Rekt Lunatic Hai, and just this past week....3-1 Misfits. Nanohana is Fuking Scary.
the only person worth listening to here is seagull... The rest of the bunch is kinda like the league of legends scene used to be... "OOH KOREANS, DO THEY EVEN EXIST BRO?" and now in league of legends the same korean team have won 3, up to win their 4th world championship. the only person who see this coming is seagull, the other people sounds rather ignorant. But ignorance is a trait every NA and EU professional or gamer in general have... so yeah, i cant wait for the koreans to rise and shit on us! #GO KOREA! :D
I shake my head at the European and NA players, in other esports, the EU/NA players show fear and respect for the Korean teams. These chumps honestly think they are better individually and that Korean teams only have "teamwork" LOL.
Koreans just have good dedication and mindset to video games, they just dominate everything LoL, SC, OW. Seagull is right that solo queue is taken way more serious on KR server compared to EU, can't comment on NA as I havn't played on that server yet
Seagull is able to set ego aside and be objective about the current reality. It is not common to see that in a young guy who is in the competitive scene.
so weird seeing both zowie and logitech on the same team as sponsor..i know that zowie currently is the biggest comp monitor brand..but knowing that they also primarily provide mouse and keyboard lols
NA has always had the best individually skilled FPS players, check the stats. NA FPS players also don't play OW as much as Koreans, they play Halo/CS/CoD. There's reasons why NA FPS professionals and even Semi-Pro FPS players can switch to any other FPS game and dominate.
Seagull was the only one that was right. Dude is smart af, this was back when everyone was underestimating the Koreans, saying they can't aim or play fps. Now 7 months later the Koreans have some of the best players and teams in the world, safely overtook NA and EU and are even coming to NA teams.
Mendokusail saying NA has more mechanics need to watch LW Pine play. That guys is a mechanical god, I haven't seen any NA or EU player who has his level of mechanics.
LoL//MOBAS and FPS are different games and Korea hasn't been very scary there, the FPS scene. This might change with OverWatch though but I won't buy into the hype until they show me in 2017 they're ready for EU//NA FPS Pro circuit.
koreans in general take ANY 'competitions' SERIOUSLY. studies, games, businesses, scams, plastic surgery.,.. etc etc, if there is a market and if there are rewards and money in the market and there are competitions, koreans will put HUGE amount of effort to survive. its just the how soceity works. they srsly care about being the best
Seagull, so methodical and well spoken. Love hearing the guy talk about OW.
yeah him and the last guy both seem pretty smart
Gmork he is very good at speaking well
Agree 100%. When he leaves the scene he definatley has a place in commentating/analyzing eSports.
The Chet Republic Should watch Custa's live streams, amazing guy and real smart. Not sure how he would match up against the other pro supports but as a streamer hes great

LevelUpLifting imagine them all sounding like Seagull in Com's 😂😂😂 it'd be like Ernie from Sesame Street "uhh 2nd healer?"
Michael Larsen LOL 😂😂
"I have dragon"
"Got Zarya Ult"
"Got em"
*sprays*
"feels bad man"
"Not like this!"

xDD
Diditallforthexp 😂
Omfg just scrolled down to type how seagull just ran this show lol and i see this. Gold XD
Diditallforthexp I agree
Seagull absolutely NAILED IT!

They already did in the world cup.
D Mar list me your ultimate team? Who's the 6 players you would have? Seagull, iddqd, Ryujehong, miro. Would be a good start for my team.
Brother Faisal if I were to pick two dps, I'd do surefour and shadowburn
Brother Faisal Seagull, iddqd (or Surefour/Shadowburn), Ryujehong, Miro, Grego and Panker would be my picks for a solid team.
You would have just about everything covered.
I refuse to put in any EnVyUs member as their team is the best in the world at the moment, and I'd rather think of a comp that would Best Challenge them.

i can only get so hard
I was waiting for some valid answerts from seagull, this man seems to have a brain. he made a perfect analysis.
Seagull had the best and most in-depth response.
Seagull is so articulate, I could listen to him talk forever
:) Because he's the most objective, and that's his greatest strength, all of the others have to great egos and are too subjectives and that theirs greatest weakness. Yeah dude, sorry i take showers everyday fam, so i dont look like a fat, greasy, pizza face, you caught meeeee
yeah bro i caught you being an edgy teenager calling someone who you don't remotely know autistic, you could be the next leafy tbh
what the fuck is with your obsession with the word 'dude'? you use it every fuckin sentence at least once
seagull should always do overwatch analysis
Seagull is definitely correct. Everyone except segull was basically like "shit I dunno, do I have to pull something outta my ass right now?"
That was kinda his whole point, he's the only one who actually had given it any thought before now
I actually thought that the first interview was spot on.
You can tell how passionate Seagull is about this game by how much he loves talking about it, nice interview!
Very interesting points by Seagull
Really cool video. Seagull was really thoughtful and articulate. Super interesting perspective.
This video solidified my love for Seagull
Seagull hit the nail on the head with this one. Everyone keeps spinning all these myths about the korean meta and players, but they're absolutely going to dominate with their insane player pool. I just hope we can keep up. X.X
Kory Ponting lol its similar to how u.s dominates in basketball as opposed to rest of world.
Steny Ethan Mathews well, no one really cares about basketball like the us does
and no one really cares about pro gaming like korean does
+Joe Cavalier/ well at least the people in here care about the game and gaming, and that includes you!!
All you have to do is put Seagull in the thumbnail and *boom* the views start flooding in.
Avensol I'm sure that's why most of us are here lol. I know that's why I'm here!
Seagull is the only player in this video that knew what the fuck they were talking about, everyone else just didn't care about korea enough to realise that they're in deep shit. I liked this video because of the analysis Seagull gave.

and handsome.

Gods and pookz need to come back man
mendo's answer was pretty good aswell
Well, now he’s on envyus! This’ll be fun.
If you just keep the Seagull part no content will be lost from this vid.
Perfect summary and analysis. If you can provide more, I'll subscribe for life.

next world championship is going to be scary
Next world championship is gonna be korea only. I can't wait to fall asleep with the steamroll.
The most popular game in SK is OW.. Finally LOL is at 2nd place...
Cant wait for the Korean overlords in OW ;)
Do you have any recent figures? All I could find was from 2016 after Overwatch was released.
OW released at May 2016
Good segment, I like hearing directly from the players uncut.
these NA players have suspiciously EU accents..
Organizations like Cloud9 and Faze are from NA, but they hire players from outside of NA for whatever reason. So technically, they are from EU, but they play IN NA, so they are NA players.
Isn't most of c9 NA though?
as far as i know the two dps are not from na
could listen to seagull all day
2016 - NA players 'nah nah we are better, we will have better aim' (apart from Seagull)
2017 - Korean Overwatch players are taking our jobs!!!! QQ
Wow Seagull breaks this shit down so crisp
Seagull looks nothing like a ninja. So disappointing.
Scott Campbell ikr, he looks like he gets spiced out by white bread.
LMFAO agreed
or a seagull
I know everyone else has said it before, but FUCK YEAH SEAGULL HYPE TRAIN!!!
He was the only player who truly answered the question and did it very thoroughly & concisely.
Gotta love that guy.
#seagull
Seagull getting POTG in this video, how he spoke was incredible and respectful for all matter, gained more respect from me now...good on ya mate...keep up the good work!!
Seagull the only one who speaks above 5th grade level LOL
Because he's the only person who has English as their first language. First and only language by the way you ignorant fuck.
Prakhar Hoskere That's called passive-agressive, he was not being polite.
Ov3rshot custa?
Custa and Desra both speak English as a first language as well.
the only one that actually took school srsly

Envyus is honestly the only team that i think will have a chance against Korea once they get their super team together.
I love seagul bc he actually admires Korea's talent and actually analyzes them from all aspects. seagul is a true overwatch god.
Seagull is smart
So Seagull is worried about the Koreans finding all the Lions and forming Voltron?
pretty much
they showed that teamwork is the best way to go. I just started playing OW but I've noticed people more often than not just do their own thing and don't communicate but when the game ends bitch about everybody
seagull took the show yet again :>
watching this now and realizing seagull predicted this future. in one year korean overwatch is leagues above EU (which is shit right now) and NA. The only team that can even be regarded as competition to korean pro teams (after their Apex season 4 experience) is EnvyUs (on their good days).
interesting points from seagull I never thought Eu teams think they are good dou
I can listen to seagull all day.. the way he talks, plus his voice, is really engaging...
basically what mendo and seagull said tbh
Korean players are starting to achieve better aim skills now, and EU/NA teams are starting to improve on ult management and combos.
Mendokusaii made a good point about finding that middle ground, and pro teams are building themselves around that.
I think Seagull has a future as a commentator. He had some pretty great analysis.
This Seagull is pretty articulate!
Seagull is PREACHIN fam
2 years later this video is hilarious
GJ Seagull the others not sure they really believed what they were saying lool
One thing that needs to be pointed out:
Na and Europe: Continents
Korea: one small little country
And yet somehow this small country is considered to be as or even better than the rest of the world (proud to be korean)
June Shin Its not even Korea it's flipping NORTH Korea
TheRealSkyrox _YT lmao do u actually think it's north korea or are u being sarcastic?? Cuz it's south korea btw
June Shin lol I'm being sarcastic I just tried to say it's half a country.
I really like seagull's one. He really respected Korean players, and he did well on his investigation. Korea must be good..You know, we have the fastest ping in the world, and there are PC Bang (internet cafe) in the whole region - it makes to have many effect on students. It's like early education. t y for reading and sry for my bad english. Have a nice day
Inseong Ryu yeah i noticed jehong had like 4 in ping once in a stream, i wish i had such good ping ://
Seagull you freaking genius! 6 months later the World's Top 3 are Korean super teams.
Seagull with great commentary, as always.
Seagull is going to drop out from playing and become a commentator/analysist in a year or two
Fast forward to now and seagull does his own game analysis on his channel (though they're not serious) and hes already "retired" from the OWL. Are you from the future?

I'm just waiting for Seagull to come out with his own TedTalks video. He's such a good speaker. lol
I agree with Seagull, I think the problem NA and EU have is there isn't enough going on to pull the players together at the amateur competitive level. There aren't many small town gatherings or local group lanning that goes on compared to the amount that you see from Korea. It's impacting the potential roster that EU and NA have. The EU team won Kappa
Hes seriously one of the best ESports person out there too. This guy is like the face of all players.
Seagull is pretty well spoken, I respect that.
So glad seagull left tf2 and brought all his talent to a game with a wealthy competitive scene, even if it meant we had to lose him.
Seagull so much knowledge. So much screen time for the knowledge.
Seagull just dropped a fucking meteor strike of facts holy shit
Ahead of the koreans for a long time? You're underestimating a true threat, buddy!
I really wish I could make a living playing games like these guys.
DrMaoh it's not as fun as you think it is... yeah sure it's a video game but it can be really stressful
When you lose, you don't lose SR, you lose money
exactly
How could you not love Seagull!
seagull is so intellectual and attentive towards ow, it's fantastic to watch
Sparky If you know Puppey (a very famous Dota esports player, also a heck good strategist and analyst), you can very much compare the two people and come up with the same persona
Not to sound disrespectful to Seagull but his head is fuckin enormous.
TheoBrixtonTheKid lol
In korea many people don't know shadowburn,kepphrii,shadder2k but korean love seagul, taimu
Korean team been doing this picking the best of the best from like 30 teams. I don't think eu or na would ever catch up to them. Korea is just moving m forward and getting better
2018 and Seagull is proven right by NYXL.
Thank god we have Seagull.
Less than a year later, South Korea is absolutely dominant.
Seagull proportions are interesting. A huge head, narrow shoulders and thin arms.
So that's how seagull looks like
2:00 when did Fnatic Cyanide switch to Overwatch?
the only person worth listening to here is seagull...
Seagull hit the nail on the head. Nuff said
Seagull is able to set ego aside and be objective about the current reality. It is not common to see that in a young guy who is in the competitive scene.
Seagull looks like the people from the cyanide and happiness comic
Am I the only one realizing the answers were already prepared ?
You killed their lover Starcraft II. Now they're back for revenge.
Seagull's Analysis - Fast Forward. Seoul Dynasty...
love how it says NA pro players, and the first person is mendo. Hes Swedish btw
Not surprised the south Koreans have always been major players in most Blizzard games
2:23
This is when the video starts
it actually make sense what seagull was saying
so weird seeing both zowie and logitech on the same team as sponsor..i know that zowie currently is the biggest comp monitor brand..but knowing that they also primarily provide mouse and keyboard lols
I like the playing solo. Sometimes you find gems in the chaos.
4:40 predicted NYXL
NA has always had the best individually skilled FPS players, check the stats. NA FPS players also don't play OW as much as Koreans, they play Halo/CS/CoD. There's reasons why NA FPS professionals and even Semi-Pro FPS players can switch to any other FPS game and dominate.
anyone know what team seagull is talking about? the 2 dps from LW red. what team did they move to?
LW Blue (nanohana is now know as Flow3r )
Seagull was the only one that was right. Dude is smart af, this was back when everyone was underestimating the Koreans, saying they can't aim or play fps. Now 7 months later the Koreans have some of the best players and teams in the world, safely overtook NA and EU and are even coming to NA teams.
Well this video didn't age well except for Seagull's answer lmao
Mendokusail saying NA has more mechanics need to watch LW Pine play. That guys is a mechanical god, I haven't seen any NA or EU player who has his level of mechanics.
so proud to be a Korean :D
Lol?
LoL//MOBAS and FPS are different games and Korea hasn't been very scary there, the FPS scene. This might change with OverWatch though but I won't buy into the hype until they show me in 2017 they're ready for EU//NA FPS Pro circuit.
koreans in general take ANY 'competitions' SERIOUSLY. studies, games, businesses, scams, plastic surgery.,.. etc etc,
if there is a market and if there are rewards and money in the market and there are competitions, koreans will put HUGE amount of effort to survive. its just the how soceity works. they srsly care about being the best
