Well, I don't have it anymore... but one of my old (OLD) systems had trouble with an overheating nforce chipset (those things ran HOT and the motherboard tried and failed to cool it passively), so I had a fan suspended in the middle of my case using bent iron wire, blowing in the general direction of the heatsink on top of it. How's that for jank :P

I have the same case, the key is to install a small form factor power supply instead of a full ATX one in order to allow more clearance for the cpu cooler, an absolute game changer for me. if Linus did this he would get far better thermals for an inexpensive price!
I have the same case. It's awesome. Corsair makes a watercooler with a radiator that fits perfectly behind the front panel. Also you can buy a fully modular PSU like a Seasonic, and buy a "small case" wire set and the very short wires help tremendously.

Hah, amusingly your setup is the exact same premise to mine - have had the Silverstone SG06 case for almost 7 years now (basically yours, with an optical drive space). I completely gutted it to accommodate a Blu- Ray writer, a few SSDs. To keep the heat under control I opted for the Intel 'T' series, so currently on the i7 8700T (35 watt TDP). Using the exact same Noctua CPU cooler as you, too. GPU is a Gigabyte 1660 Super GTX, which runs passive when idle. PSU is the Corsair SF Series SF450 modular - it also runs passive when needed. Works great - the machine is inaudible unless playing a game.

@@ruhaanrai9268 Have a 4690k in mine on a Z97 board with a 1070 SC. Holds up pretty well for what it is, I don't stream or record but I often play VR games and beamng and I rarely ever have slowdowns.
I just did a build in this same case. I would never have thought of using the PSU fan to cool my CPU. I have a LP Noctua HS and this would be perfect, it just barely didnt fit under the PSU. I already fit in a 120 AIO, but Im tempted to try this method.
So Linus has demonstrated a problem that I have had with my similar Silverstone SG05. The case is so small and the cables are inappropriately long, so the cover puts just enough pressure on things to cause the cables to shift out of place. Happens almost every time I open it for maintenance. Better cable management does help, but it's really a pain. Great case though.

That i5 iirc uses ddr3 so going to a new cpu requires a new mb which prob has ddr4 so u need new ram, cpu is being upgraded
