I'm 5 years clean from herion, I've overdosed 3 times. I can not imagine what it would be like to go threw that publicly. Good for her for speaking out& staying strong
Yeah the crap people say online is insane. I'm 8 years clean I'm 37 spent majority of my life on something from time was 13 tryna numb myself and kill thoughts from abuse parents put me through. And anyone who don't understand are so judgy it was hell still have people call me junkie even tho clean so I can't imagine going through it in the amount of eyes she has on her

SO fucking proud of you!!! I have heard that quitting smoking is right up there with the difficulty. I cannot attest to the heroin, but quitting smoking was probably THE hardest thing that I have ever done (besides fight the inner dances with my devil). I am so proud that you are part of the this family, or at least made this comment. Thank you for sharing this with us.

This video is exactly what happend to her on the day she overdosed, same hair, makeup and clothes etc.. reliving it for a music video must of been so hard for her. Such a powerful song.

Thank you, everyone, for the recommendations to watch this. I really will. But I can't right now. My 16 year old is having the worst depressive/suicidal flareup that she has ever had, and is very clingy (which, as an overreative mother, I prefer her clinging to ME vs being by herself). I don't want her to hear, walk in on, or watch something that may trigger or put any ideas into her head.
But I WILL watch it. Y'all don't have any ideas as to how much I appreciate everyone. I LOVE being a part of this family. I truly do.

I listen to hip-hop more than every other genre I listen to, but I did grow up listening to Demi throughout my whole childhood, so to see her healthy and recovering from her unfortunate overdose/hospitalization, it makes me so happy for her, and I think it’s so brave for her to tell he story to the world, which also makes me proud of her.

Oh damn. This song hurts. It hurts my heart, my soul, my everything. I lost someone I love way too soon from just one time doing Heroin. This was a hard one for me to watch.
In the documentary she says she had 3 strokes and a heart attack as well as pneumonia, organ failure and ended up partially blind.
Is she still suffering from all of this? I cannot bring myself to watch most anything pertaining to it. This video was hard enough, and I was mostly in the comments.
3 strokes and 1 heart attack. Can't see out the bottoms of her eyes and lost depth perception. She also has partial hearing loss and some permanent brain damage so reading is exceedingly hard for her and she can no longer drive.

Demi sings about her substance abuse, and overdose(2018), and if they don't catch her in time she would've been dead, she had only 5-15 minutes to not pullit trough ,that's why she sayin she was closer to the heaven than you think.
I didn't know about her shit I don't really listen her music, but I watched her documentary, and also the dancing with the devil youtube original series as well I was curious what happening to her it's crazy how much shit she been trough since as a child to now. Her father was an alcohol & drug addict he died in overdose at 52. I have seen her comment about DMX rest in peace X , she captioned it could be her, and she also feels survivor’s guilt about X, and she feels liek everitime when she see some got overdosed an died it could've been her . She lost her virginity by a rape at 15, she tried the cocaine at 17 before she started drinking of course, and she mixed a lot drugs and alcohol, and when she stopped she had other stuff like she wanted to eat all the time, after she got back to the drugs while she was sober before lied for everyone she is sober, and after when the overdose happened she realized it's not worth it, she almost died and got 1 heart attack and 3 strokes after the overdose by her drug diller who basically secually accused her while she was high as fuck, he gave her herion laced by fentanyl which is a really strong shit and she didn't know about thw fentanyl and left there to die... she had been injured permanently by brain damage she has blind points in her vision where, she can't drive anymore, and for a longer period she couldn't read like before in recent years.(that's called aphasia it has multiple types)
Demi has found a "balance."
For her, that means not completely cutting out marijuana and alcohol, although she did completely cut out what caused her overdose. The "all or nothing" world of sobriety wasn't a good fit for her and her mental health, she revealed in an interview with Glamour. Demi told her recovery case manager Charles Cook: "I think I want to try this balance thing in the substance side of my life too."
So that's why you can feel her emotions in her songs she really lived the stuff what she singin about, and that's why she is a really good singer, cause she has a powefull voice with full of emotions.

This was such a great reaction !! She reenact what happened the night of her overdose in 2018 and brought all the details back (blonde hair, same green jacket etc..) and she was also r*ped by her drug dealer (the blonde guy in the music video) when she was unconscious and he left her for dead.

Her video clip shows what really happened the night she overdosed, it's not just playing, it really happened and making this video was probably very difficult for her, because she was reliving what happened that night. Please, if you want just search about it, and you will know that this is much more than just a video, it is a representation of what really happened on the night of the overdose, the night that almost killed her.

This song hits so hard if you've had addiction issues or had loved ones who have been affected by it. This song guts me because my mom had issues. She had a long period of sobriety and went on that slippery slope of drinking what she said was occasionally then that occasional drinking went to pills. She sadly didn't win her battle with addiction and died of an overdose.

She discussed her overdose in detail. Where that survivor tattoo is, she needed a machine that was sewed on her to remove her blood, allow oxygen and clean it and put it back in. She had multiple strokes while in the hospital and now can’t see properly as a result of those strokes. She was about 5 minutes from them not being able to get her back.

I feel like we dance with the devil everyday. Some of us dance a little too close and don't realize how fortunate we are that he picks another dance partner - oftentimes to our detriment anyways. He let my friend interrupt our dance and decided he made a better partner. I have missed and thought about him everyday for seven years.

All of this was was scripted, but only in the sense that she was recreating to the t, the night of her overdose around 3 years ago. Down to her hair, makeup, outfit, and every situation in the video. She had strokes, lost her vision (still has partial vision loss), organ failure... after a sexual assault and drug overdose. She wrote and recorded the song Anyone 4 days before the od. Begging for anyone, literally any single person, to actually hear her and care. She's brave af and strong as hell to show her darkest most vulnerable moments to the entire world... Especially after so many people made her the butt of many jokes during that time. I respect tf out of this woman. Check out Demi's performance of Anyone live at the Grammys to understand where she was at 4 days prior to the events in this music video. You won't regret it!!
Hi bro! Many people have criticized Demi for making this video for the song, people don't understand that decision... I do not see this like a bad thing, for Demi is a type of catharsis. And I always appreciate the people's reactions, because explain a little why the music video. Anyway, the song is amazing and I think it is one of her best songs!
