    HOW WAS NEITH NOT ON THIS LIST
    1. she's free
    2. all her moves do some sort of damage while always doing somthing else
    3. her passive allows her to do more damage or heal a bit in a pinch
    4. she can easily get out sticky situations with her backflip ability
    AND her ability to snipe from anywere while rooting enimies is pretty op

      +Raynday Gaming Great list, I agree with most of it besides Poseidon. He's not a beginner god in my opinion and isn't easy to play and he's easy to counter and more of a late game god. I tried Poseidon and I can say I wouldn't recommend him for beginners. But whatever I am not "pro" so my opinion doesn't matter I guess.

    Love this list, I definitely agree w/ everything, but if there could an honorable mention, or sixth man, I'd highly recommend Kumbhakarna as a 1st guardian over Ymir. His kit is REALLY easy to use, and really useful to teamfights, you can learn the game so fast through all of the previously listed gods and including kumbha. Keep up with these vids man, I love em all.

    • @anicastor
      @anicastor 8 років тому +1

      +Brandon Hall Just no
      Kumba's 1st ability is a poke you have to line up
      Kumba's 2nd ability you have to aim properly/set up because it can easily be dodged
      Kumba's 3rd ability is alright for a new player
      Kumba's 4th ability is great for ganking w/ rotations. I'd say Kumba is an advanced tank/support to play.

    • @ltsjoke5443
      @ltsjoke5443 8 років тому

      Irisoi Zilico Erm, you don't have to use his 2 for a set up, nor to aim at others. Just use it as a minion clear, because too many kumbha(s) use there 1 as a clear. And in no way is kumbha advanced, as his abilities heavily rely on position, which is super easy considering his 1 is a MASSIVE dash, and his ult gives you different ways to use it, not necessarily just ganking. I use to main him, you can use him casually and fairly advanced.

    • @RayndayGaming
      @RayndayGaming  8 років тому

      Wow, big thanks man! I appreciate that. I personally love kumbha as he is really fun and has a lot of great CC. I also like how you defended your response, and I think you make good points about the utility of his ult and his dash. I think he could definitely be an honorable guardian mention. That being said, I think kumbha can be a very hard God for many people to understand how to use properly. I had a tough time learning him and it wasn't until I discovered a certain play style with him, by having it used against me (to my chagrin), that I finally picked up his correct pacing. He's very initiatory, and that can be tough for newer players when considering the various timing and spacing elements for gods that a knowledge of many gods abilities helps to make easier. So I can see both sides!

      +EpicGamerBen I think that although he has a high skill cap, he is definitely valuable as a beginner God and his mechanics are relatively easy to learn. However he is also very safe, can contribute positively to a teamfight from range, and is a very relevant God to know how to play. Thanks for your opinion though, I definitely see where you are coming from.

    • @benjaminlimoges9801

      +Raynday Gaming ya, your points definitally make sense but, what made him hard for me when I was a beginner was getting all of his combo's down. and I sucked with him, due to the fact that I wasn't playing him correctly. but now, after being good at smite and practicing, I now know how to play him well, and he is one of my main mid gods!

    I would put Neith on the list. She has a good escape for beginners. She has a decent heal so you don't have to worry as much about health. She can root enemies making them easier to hit. He lane clear is really good, and she has an ultimate that cannot miss.

  • @fupaking9719
    @fupaking9719 8 років тому +55

    isnt neith like easier and better for begginers than agni?
    since she has that root and escape

    • @RayndayGaming
      @RayndayGaming  8 років тому +8

      +Ray Jim I think Neith is a very good beginner God, but I think the hunter role, in many aspects, requires more gameplay for beginners to become proficient. I think her root is a great ability, but not the easiest to aim and land on actual opponents who know what to look for. She is definitely in the top 10, but I think Agni's safety, dash, large area damage and stun put him above her. That's my opinion!

    • @anicastor
      @anicastor 8 років тому +6

      +Raynday Gaming Agni is for professionals. His 1 does no damage & a new player won't know how to set up Agni's abilities. His ability set up is by far the most advanced from all the mages. Sure, he's pretty safe to play if you know how to play Agni. If you don't then you'll just be dragging your team down randomly dashing constantly. Your 1 does no damage unless you put it down & then dash through it stunning the enemy & dealing tick damage once you got Spear of the Magus.

    • @patrickray5692
      @patrickray5692 7 років тому

    i don't know about #1 I've been playing smite for almost a year now and i still have a hard time doing well with agni, but here is my list
    #5: Tyr (his 1 2 combo does shit tons of dmg at max levels plus his 3 power gives his different stances buffs. Dmg for attack stance, protection for defense stance)
    #4 Cupid ( first god i ever bought and his abilities are pretty easy to use and hit)
    #3 Odin (use your 2 then your 1 kills for days)
    #2 Ymir (the easiest guardian to use. he can do tons of dmg and has an easy way to escape)
    #1 Neith (by far the easiest god to use because all her abilities do dmg, she has a heal, an easy escape and a unlimited range ult)
    HM Poseidon (for basically all the reasons he said)

    • @yokaitamer9436
      @yokaitamer9436 8 років тому +2

      I disagree with tyr. I find him one of the much harder gods play. Yeah his 1-2 combo is easy, but it's about the postioning. you can't just drag the enemy where you want, it needs to be against a wall or toward your team so then get be finished off

    • @RobertoWhyyoucare
      @RobertoWhyyoucare 8 років тому

      +NoobDoctor21 Lol no, Agni doesn't have a better escape than Scylla. Her 3 can be used as a temporary ward, and more importantly, she can use it over walls. They're both about the same range.

    • @duder24567
      @duder24567 8 років тому

      NoobDoctor21
      yeah no scyllas dash is much better mostly because she can use it through walls. agni cant do that. agni's may be faster and it may to dmg but he can still be killed mid dash. scylla cant be killed mid dash because she's underground

    I'm surprised that Ah Puch didn't make the list. I can understand why, since he's fragile and not very mobile, but from a noob's point of view, being able to stand behind your teamfight and nuke everyone in a mile radius is very nice and reasonably safe. Also his ult is a massive area-denial that can easily cover your retreat in lieu of an escape skill. Good video, though! I have yet to play Cupid, I might have to look into it now.

    • @RayndayGaming
      @RayndayGaming  8 років тому +1

      Hey man! Ah Puch, due to his lack of mobility and tricky skill shot timing (something that, if you don't know how to do, will really take the punch out of the character because that's his burst) make him a tough beginner God. Even as an Ah Puch player myself, he is very difficult with a team who focuses him down, and while his ultimate is a decent area denial, if he is out of position, all an enemy needs to do is wait and capitalize on his lack of options thereafter. Positioning is huge with Ah Puch, as well as timing and skill shots, so that's why he didn't make my list. That's at least me opinion from my experience with him, but I do see the good points you bring up about him as well. I think the right beginner could enjoy him and do well - but I think these gods lend themselves to better performances right off the bat. Thanks for the comment!!

    • @RayndayGaming
      @RayndayGaming  8 років тому +4

      +Vidura Vishmitha To master, no. You are correct. But his kit is very beginner friendly in terms of survivability, and helping support the team with damage from a safe distance. These are great traits for Gods to have when used by beginners to avoid being in the thick of a fight as much as possible, and to still contribute to their team and escape if things do get rough. Also, he is a very consistent and balanced God, and has been since his release 2 years ago.

    • @viduravishmitha1964

    Best starter adcs/hunters - Neith, Anhur, Xbalanque, Apollo, Cupid, etc
    Best starter build - Warrior Tabi, Devours Gauntlet, Executioner, Hastened Fatalis, Deathbringer, & Rage
    Best starter mages - Zeus, Janus, & Poseidon
    As Zeus, make sure to get all your lightning bolts on your enemy & read up on his abilities (His three makes your lightning bolt stacks on him explode)
    As Janus, make sure to place your portal under your enemy & then use unstable vortex while they're falling. His portal can also be used as an escape
    As Poseidon, cripple your enemy with his whirlpool & then release the Kraken.
    Best starter build - Shoes of Focus, Warlock's Sash, Chronos Pendant(or) Breastplate of Valor, Gem of Isolation, Rod of Tahudi, & Spear of the Magus (or) Soul Reaver
    Hopefully, this helped. Make sure to look up on the gods abilities/watch a video before you try them out m8.

      I think this is a really valuable comment, man. Thanks for adding this great information for others to learn, especially the build aspect for newer players. I disagree with some of your Mage choices, but overall it's good advice. I however couldn't understand your comment at the end. Are you suggesting I don't know how Zeus' detonate works? Or Janus portal? I couldn't exactly tell but if that WAS the case, I'd like to let you know I'm very away of what each one of the gods kits do that you mentioned, and that I played in the video. I actually mention the exact same thing in my video. But if it was just advice to newer players - then yes! Totally think they should look up builds, gameplay videos etc. before trying them out in order to jumpstart their learning curve :) thanks for your thorough comment!

    As a beginner, I was given 10 gods to start with. They were Ares, Artemis, Bellona, Guan Yu, Kukulkan, Neith, Nemesis, Ra, Thor, and Ymir. As a beginner, I lost every match I was in regardless which character I played. I finally got my first win when I played Guan Yu for the first time. But the next match I played Guan Yu, I lost. So It's pretty obvious that I suck at this game. I now have 16 gods with the addition of Jormungandr, Agni, Aphrodite, Cupid, Hades, and Sun Wukong. I got my second win with Aphrodite. After a week of playing this game I've only had 2 wins. I don't know if I want to continue playing. I need more advice.

    i totally agree with your list, but i think there has to be a tank in there as well. Not only because tanks are important to win the game, but some of them are also easy to play. For example Chaac is great for beginners. He has really good clear, sustain because of passive/3 and his ulti is really hard to miss^^. Of course Chaacs teamfight in lategame isn't that great, but on the lower levels, a big silence could change everything

      +Jan Ho I hear you man, I like your thoughts on that. I chose intentionally not to include tanks because I feel their role is a bit difficult for beginners, and my goal with this list was to provide beginners with gods that will provide them with the most early success as well as the team they are on. However, good points and I could definitely see a guardian or warrior on this list. Appreciate the comment my man!

    Against Poseidon, Amaterasu is an amazing block if using sanctuary relic. Can pop sanctuary when he uses his ult, and when you use basic attacks with frostbound hammer, it's hard for Poseidon to get away. That with how squishy it is, and ability to run around him so it is harder for him to hit his basics, Amaterasu can shred him quickly

      +Raynday Gaming yes you are absolutely correct. Anubis is a popular beginner god but it takes some quick thinking and reflexes to get the most out of him. +BaC0nz Intersting! I stayed away from warriors and guardians because I find their positioning to be highly important to the success of the team, and with a poor or new guardian, I have experienced almost no way to claim a victory. However, you are right that hercules is a relatively forgiving God as well as Chaac, so these are good points. I just felt that these Gods were a little safer and could be played by beginners in a way that would create the most opportunity for team success.

You absolutely need a pre made in this. More so at least from lvls 25 to 29 is the area I started having major consistant problems with the team mates MM been giving me. Mostly the suicide into enemies 12 times and simi afk and emote laugh for the 2nd half of our matches, or the ones that as soon a they die once in the match after 1 mins of play they rage quit and never come back. I find Ymir to be the best beginner God because he's a high damage guardian that has one of the best CC's in the game. Ymir is great for getting players to learn when it's time to be supportive and when it's time to deal some major damage.

    • @RayndayGaming
      @RayndayGaming  8 років тому

      +MechAce1337 I can definitely agree with your points. I have answered this question quite a lot in the comments section regarding Guardians and why I don't have them in this list. Mainly, it's due to the fact that brand new players in SMITE have a hard time against a more veteran Support player and that role is often the role that paces and determines the fight by providing either initiation, peel or some combo of both. I find that a tall task for a newer player to understand the positioning and my experience is that damage roles provide more success for earlier players and for the teams they are on, until they learn more of the dynamics of the game! However, Ymir would be one of the guardians I include on this list if I were to have them on it! Thanks for the comment, buddy!

    for people looking for melee gods to play as beginners ill say for guardians i have to recommend Ymir.
    Ymir is a threat throughout the entire game and is widely feared for how well he can lock down enemies and trap them. His freeze is not a hard CC to land at all and the only real way you can miss it really is if the opponent happens to jump out of the way or you have frame rate issues. Ymirs passive and his ice spike path makes for great way clear as well and its good for general harass. And his ultimate is also good for causing panic in team fights and is also good for executions due to its high damage. The only problems ymir has is one almost all guardians share is their easily eaten away mana pool at the start of the game and how one bad wall can easily screw over your team. But i personally think the benefits outweigh those cons.
    as for solo laner....eh...ill let someone else try and carry that torch. I dont play solo lane much

    • @RayndayGaming
      @RayndayGaming  8 років тому

      +OMGitsJo He is great, but the difficulty in using his #3 for beginners is relatively high, and also he needs to be up close to do damage and I thin that puts him (in the hands of a beginner) in a risky situation when they are still learning to play/survive in game. Warriors and Guardians really set the tempo, and I find newer players have a high learning curve when using Guardians and Warriors and it can really create a bad situation for the team if they struggle under the pressure of constant attacks from the enemy due to bad positioning, poor initiation or counter initiation, and lack of understanding of how to peel for teammates.

    The only problem I have with this list is that 2 of the gods on here are hunters, yes they are easy for beginners to use but all needed to be done by hunters is basic attacks so that beginners wont be able to learn how to play smite to a larger extent. This is the same with Kukulkan's whirlwind but I do agree with the Poseidon and Agni choices.

    • @RayndayGaming
      @RayndayGaming  8 років тому +1

      +Reeceachu Thanks for your opinion! I think the hunting is a valuable aspect of the game, and an important role to master. While it may or may not contribute to them learning all of the skills to master a Warrior, Guardian, Mage or Assasin, with very different attack patterns associated for each role - I do believe that these Gods are great for beginners. Even the hunters. If my goal for this video was to create a list of Gods that would support people in learning the game, which in all fairness, is a good thing for beginners to do, I may include a Guardian here and swap out one hunter. However, I think the hunter role is a very important role to learn, valuable for the team, and a lot of the God's here are very easy for a new player to become acclimated to the game. I appreciate your points though and you make a good one. Thank you for commenting and sharing your opinion. Means a lot!

No need to thank me, you are the one trying to help new players on the game so you deserve people to show their support and give their opinions. Hope this does help people so that you get what you want : 3

    I think Ra should've been in Agni's place at the top as a god whose kit is easy but hard to master. New players will know this all too well, his ultimate is hard to hit and if your timing isn't perfect you're gonna miss, what to do when a Loki is targeting you relentlessly, keeping Ra's passive up all the time which is tremendously important to not getting ganked. Once you can get him somewhat good I would say you're ready to play any mage or hunter effectively.

    It's interesting how Chang'e isn't on here. I found her to be very beginner friendly, having high damage combined with a hard to miss stun as her ult and having high mobility and sustain so she can make mistakes and not suffer for them very much. And let's not forget her ability that literally makes her invincible for a moment and gives her back mana. she probably would have taken chiron's spot if this was my list. but other than that I agree with everything.

      +mmomario12 Interesting. I like Chang'e, I really do. I think she is underrated, and underused. You make great points, but I think that Chang'e has a bit of a difficult time competing with some of the gods in this list in terms of overall fight effectiveness. Although she has good mobility, cc immunity and decent damage, I feel that Chiron brings a lot more to the team engagement and has much better survivability with his ult and #3 dash. HOWEVER, I really like Chang'e and I would be happy with a list that included her at that spot :) thanks for your comment!

    Even though mages are typically the most easy to play, you should have a seperate top 5 for other classes. For example I think chaac is a really easy warrior, good for beginners. Cupid is definitely the easiest hunter. Bastet is probably the easiest assassin (although assassin is hard in general when you aren't used to it). for mages i would say poseidon in lane, his waveclear is safer (agni has to be closer) and agni in arena becaus he has a better escape and better range. Easiest guardian I think is Geb. Im wondering what you think

    • @RayndayGaming
      @RayndayGaming  8 років тому

      +Maximous Prime I like the idea for other classes and I have to agree with you that this would be an interesting series when looking at all of the different roles in smite. Thanks for the ideas. I would say Geb is probably the easiest Guardian as well, but the verdict is still out in terms of the assassin for me. Possibly Hun Batz? I have to think about that more!

    • @Osw1nn
      @Osw1nn 8 років тому

      +Maximous Prime I disagree with cupid being the easiest hunter because missing his heartbomb can be a huge deal and it's a bit of a skill shot skill. His basic attacks do less damage than other hunters because his heart bomb is supposed to make up for it. I believe neith is by far the easiest hunter because her 1 by itself is an amazing ability for wave clear and rooting, and it only gets better when you combine it with your three. I will, however, agree that cupid has one of the best group fighting potentials. He is amazing on paper, but not so much on actual gameplay.

      damage isn't everything. the lack of a reliable escape means you gotta be very mindful about your positioning. you also need a lot of experience in order to use her traps efficiently.
      neith is a way better hunter for beginners with her frequent stun, high sustain, easy scape and infinite range ult. even if you dont achieve the highest player damage of the match you are still helping your team inmensely.

    I was watching these video when released and I was starting with game and now again. Ofcourse is that Yours list but I don't exactly agree with Chiron and Agni. They both great gods but starting players may struggle with they ultimates. Both have few shots with ult which makes highly possible that u miss part of it, even if aim perfectly enemies may dash/jump off. In these way Cupid is perfect for beginers. I will add for these list Artemis - her stun/slow/root potential its huge especially ultimate it's a fury homing misile U cant miss ;P
    Generally imo hunters are best pick for starters - you build up attack speed and crits and harass enemies with autoatacks, dont mention abilities.

    I would say hades is by far the easiest god to play and best for beginners. He has a lot of mobility, sustain and utility and can really help out team fight with his ultimate. But i do agree with you on agni as your number one. He was the first god i mained and my favourite god to this day his kit is so easy to play but difficult to master.

    I'm very surprised Neith wasn't number 1. She's got a giant AoE lifesteal, she can root either a single person or a group and her back flip is a very quick escape. Not to mention it's literally impossible to miss with her ultimate, it's going to hit someone.

    I agree with Agni being a good starter Mage.hell hes my first God I ever bought and I use him all the time(except if someone allready picked him I'm stuck with bellona or ratatoskr)

      +Cordless Slinkey7 I'm glad to hear you like the list, bud. Thank you for commenting and letting me know. I think Agni covers a lot of the criteria I have set in terms of picking the best beginner gods in SMITE and he is widely used in a lot of scenarios both professional and casual and across all game modes.

    As a master 8 Agni player, I would not recommend Agni for new players (although he is who I started with). His kit is relatively confusing and requires quite a no. of things to be kept in mind. He is also mechanically tougher since he has no nuke ability unlike a Scylla ult or kraken, this forces him to combo his ability to do damage hence making him tougher to play. He may have decent way clear (decent due to short range on his 2), a good escape, long range ult and easy to build, he is tougher than say a Scylla, kukulkan or Poseidon. I know I've mentioned her a lot but I would rather recommend Scylla since she's easy to play, easy to get good, somewhat slow but good escape and only downside is being very squishy.

      I agree that Scylla has a very welcoming kit for beginners, but she tends to struggle early game against gods with superior clear (Anubis, Poseidon, Nu Wa, Kukulkan). That combined with the fact that she is tough to play when coming from behind means she could be a bit discouraging for newer players who haven't mastered farming. That said, I would 100% recommend Scylla for a beginner over Agni. I just think gods like Ra, Kukulkan, and poseidon are so easy to farm with that even a new player would have a tough time not keeping up (unless they feed).

    Idd have to say bellona. She's so tanky that even a newer player can trade and still get back to safety. Also her ultimate is super easy to contribute to team fights. Bellona seems like she was made to bring people into the game

    I think the easiest gods to play are actually neith and guan yu, two of the beginner gods for smite. both have great cc, great dmg, great escape, great sustain.
    Neith is probably this safest hunter to play while her skill is very easy to land, Guan Yu is probably the safest warrior/tank to play as his escape and healing is amazing.

    • @antheunis011
      @antheunis011 8 років тому

      +dinohazard I still use both very much. Guan Yu, with his great heal buff, and relics meditation and shielding can completely turn the tide of battle, and the cavalry charge is great finisher when the enemy team is in retreat.

    i'm not sure agni would be good for a beginner, cause you have to keep track of meteors, although his basic 3 powers are easy to understand, his ultimate can be a lot confusing for many people, also, i would have expected neith to be in this list as well.
