may i suggest next time using some disposable nitrile gloves and you definetly need a low profile oil drain pan...one more thing i use a big piece of cardboard that a tv was boxed in and slide that under will be more comfy to work instead of concrete and will absorb the oil spills.... Cheers for the vid!
Thanks for making this, just bought a territory and I would have failed on the oil filter with my standard tool definitely need the Ryco unit. Technical question though, how many Tim Tams will I need to complete the job, can’t be letting the sugar levels drop mid service.
God i near want to cry after watching this. Yea well some suggestions. If you are going to do the filter change from under the car reverse, it up the driveway and then put down 2 blocks of wood at least 5cm high but 10cm would be good in front of the front wheels and drive up on them to raise the front. Then CHOCK the back wheels. It will give you more room and get the car a bit more level for refilling the oil. Put down a small plastic tarp as you are messy :) If you do not want to go to that trouble well you can just remove the air box as the filter can be accessed by there so you can change it from up top ;) Still put down plastic. When you use the spanner flip it around, so it is angled under the sump more than out from the sump. They hold on better. Think you need a new sump plug too. Last thing is if that Auto oil cooler on the side of the block has not been changed do it ASAP. They fail and destroy your gearbox. First thing always changed on a auto ford 6 or 8. Putting a after market one on that goes in front of the radiator is best from Repco or Autobarn. If not just replace it with a genuine ford one. Do not use after market ones on ebay.
That oil filter is a shit to get to. We have a VW and a Kia as well in the family - much easier to access. When I replace the Territory, easy oil filter access will be one of my requirements. Thanks for the vid - made me realise that the oil filter access was doable as newb on these 👍
Nope. Just go down to Ford and buy a genuine trans cooler heat exchanger - it will not split. That issue has been fixed for a long time. Fitting an external transcooler will shorten the life of your trans.
Good work attempting your first oil change 👏 here is another video that could help make it easier if you haven’t seen it ua-cam.com/video/rRIJX9Zhs_4/v-deo.htmlsi=6qYvMhR90_b7lWev
@@678villeUnfortunately I'm having the same issue as you trying to get the sump off. It's way too tight. It's going to have to wait u till the weekend for the neighbour to loosen it for me.

@FUQNDV8 thanks for the feedback bro. I'll take it on board and try to add those things in next time.
@FUQNDV8
What’s the auto oil cooler?
First time changing and filter? I’d also use 10/30 oil rather than 10/40 oil. At least put on anew crush washer on the sump bolt…..good luck

Thanks for your video. Having my first crack at changing the oil and filter in my 08. I've taken what's said in the comments also. Wish me luck 🤞
