- From series 12, Paint the most flattering picture of the Taskmaster in action on the canvas in the lab. The canvas will either be six inches or six feet above you. You must lie flat on your back on the creeper at all times. You must tell Alex if you want the canvas to be six inches or six feet above you within the next ten seconds.

In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.
You have your James Acasters, who are clearly fans of the show and have seen it before and know what to expect... and then you have your Victoria Coren-Mitchells, who seem to have never heard of Taskmaster until their agent told them they would be doing it and are therefore completely blindsided by what happens to them. Both types are very entertaining in their own ways.
I love the variety of comedy every season has because of that!
Seems kinda lazy to not do at least a LITTLE research before going on the show.

Guz being so genuinely relaxed and happy just made me smile, you could just tell he enjoyed being in the moment

I want a compilation of Victoria laughing like a mad woman at the task. I remember she did a great one during the explanation of the balloon popping task as well.
As an incredibly anxious and socially awkward person myself, I find it wonderful to see that Alex Horne has manged to make a successful career building on such traits.

@@Mike_Dubayou Indeed. And in this case, it really is almost entirely an act, with maybe a kernel of truth. Alex Horne IRL is probably one of the most self-assured people in show business. He reminds me a bit of David Mitchell in that way, someone else who plays on the notion of being awkward and anxious. The fact is, if you are truly awkward and anxious, you don't end up on TV being awkward and anxious in front of millions of people.
I really loved Alan's painting. I would hang it on my wall. And given how he also seemed lost with the brushes and sticks, it's incredible he managed to paint something so good, especially when compared to how little Victoria managed to do.
I thought I was going to go into this series rooting mostly for Desiree (and she was a favourite!), but I knew from this task that Guz was going to be one of my all-time favourite contestants. He's right up there with James Acaster for me.
Guz had a lot of funny moments for sure. This whole group was great!
Thanks to Taskmaster I'm happy to have discovered Guz and also Judi Love who are both effortlessly funny people
Don't forget Daisy-May Cooper! She was also pretty good on the show!

Knowing how Taskmaster likes to hide things in plain sight, I'm not sure if I would've found the brushes and gotten them to work in time, so 6 inches seemed like the safer bet. Heck, I'd be finger-painting too!
By far task master might be the one and only game show I have ever given any shit about. This is constantly funny from start to finish. Heck the only gag I don't like much is the "thing they don't see but it is right there" gag. But that is because they use it quite frequently, but some of them are still funny regardless.

This is one of the best seasons top to bottom, but I really do adore Morgana and her glorious swearing.
Has to be my favourite series. One thing I'd have loved to see is Victoria and Guz doing a task together!
Victoria could have easily BS'ed her way into 1st place by saying it was an abstract of Greg pummeling Alex for not living up to his expectations.
Every time I watch these clips I get the urge to run and binge watch the series again... Each time I watch them I catch a joke or something I missed first time round.
Alan just immediately giving up is a vibe I can get with.
Victoria is just exactly what I would have done.

I watched series 10, 11 and 12 in full and I’m glad I did, as they were the best series. While I liked this task, I don’t think I would have been able to this at 6 inches, especially after having a few MRI scans lol.
I liked seris 12 much better than 11. The contestants here really seemed to like each other... and it blew Greg's mind at times.
Spending my Sunday watching taskmaster, instead of standing outside near a road while a car slowly goes past and not saying anything

This is one task I’m very glad I’m not a celeb having to do as part of this wonderful show 😂. I was born with acute scoliosis, have sciatica, A.N.T and have 3 herniated discs and was told by my physio as well as the hospital and out of hours doctors that if I slip one more disc I could be paralyzed and have to have spinal surgery and more physio on top of the usual. Watching this, I was squeeling like a pig 😂😂, I can imagine the back pain these contestants had after doing that task, I hope they’re okay 😂😅
For context btw, the discs I’ve slipped the first time, I didn’t know because I’ve had back pain all my life that’s got worse over time until my nerves got affected by this and I couldn’t walk properly or use my arms which for a few hours is typical for my sciatica but this was a full day and so I called 111 and went to A&E and I had a CT scan and yep I’d herniated my first disc, they brushed it off, giving me morphine on a drip and a prescription for Zapain (fancy cocodamol) and naproxen, then I was sent back home with my meds and told to self refer to physio which I was already having and they didn’t even ask me about my back history… so that’s never healed as seen in my future scans after disc 2 and 3 did the same 😅. Disc 2 was whilst I was working, I was sent straight to A&E and this time asked about my back and medical history, given a rectal exam, CT as mentioned and an injection in my spine which surprisingly wasn’t that bad as they’d given me meds before that, 1 drip, 2 purple chalky tasting tablets (not sure what they were as I was really gone that time), a follow up exam and appointment with out of hours and meds to take home again. The 3rd and hopefully final time, I went to A&E, was seen quicker than the first 2 times, given the same things including bum pokey exam and CT and told I had to come back to hospital the following week for an MRI and closer look at my spine to make sure everything was okay as they weren’t convinced by my CT that my nerves were all okay and didn’t want anything causing me paralysis following on from my 3rd time there, they spoke about spinal surgery in my follow up and MRI and I didn’t want that at the time as it was literally a week into my new job and I didn’t want to lose it, looking back I wish I’d of just had it over and done with A because I got fired from my job anyway because of my physio and sciatica getting in the way of my doing it and B because it would of made my life so much easier and now I just have to wait it out and see what happens. That was a whole ramble, don’t bother reading if you don’t want to sorry 😂😂
The second and third disc are asymptomatic (I think that’s what they said, idk 😂), basically they won’t heal properly, but meds and physio help to make it easier and live with.

When I watched this task live for the first time, I said, "Eh, this probably isn't going to be a very interesting task, because nobody in their right mind would ever pick 6 feet in a million years."
Boy was I ever glad to be wrong!
I would have picked six feet because I would have assumed there was some kind of twist where six inches was the more difficult choice. But, no, the task was pretty straight up.

I think this was the least fair of all the tasks. The 10 minutes should have started when they entered the room. And the 6in should be from their nose. Not the floor because thinner people had a significant advantage in the way of moving arms.
