Thanks for bringing back memories of a visit several years ago, our relatives that lived in Abergavenny (since passed away) made us very welcome. Good to see the Market still operating, we stayed on the outskirts opposite to the "Flag & Lamb" and had lovely meals there. In Australia now but born in Ystradmynach a long time ago (but brought up just out side London). Keep up the good work!
First off, my father's family hailed from Wales. As a teen, I was intrigued by a song called "Taking A Trip Up To Abergavenny"; now, I've taken that trip via this delightful video, but hope to make the trip for sure once I retire. Besides the lovely tour of the countryside and all of the neat things to see and do, what I enjoyed most about this video is that it cured me of my longstanding fear of the motor roundabout. I saw the ease with which everyone in the video approached it and proceeded without incident. We have one leading to a tunnel at the Houston Ship Channel, and I always avoided it, preferring to take the ferry or bridges to cross it. There is another roundabout farther up the country in central Texas that always terrified me; I would always freeze when I came to that point with everyone behind me honking. It is silly, I know, but one of those things. The other day, I took that roundabout-tunnel route and aced it without flinching.
Thymebottle thank you for your comment especially about the roundabout 😂 here's a little extra ua-cam.com/video/C-wCg8Zrtgw/v-deo.htmlsi=jAlosviIRZlen0Vv
