What software is that you use on your surface pro with all those little buttons on the left hand side? Is that Krita or is that a plug-in or some sort?
I just started playing with krita. Surface Pro 5. I have been using OneNote for education videos. I would like to switch to Krita. When using onenote, sometimes the pen wont work if you are in the wrong onenote mode. I am seeing that happen now with Krita. I select any brush and I get a relatively small circle on the screen and no brush drawing. I probably need to go through a full up training on krita, but this one is driving me nuts. Yes the brush tool IS selected. If I create a new window, same thing is occurring. I am excited to get up to speed on this.
I've only played with it a little. I believe it sits on top but in fullscreen mode it doesn't cover anything. Well. I suppose that's based off your settings. I'll likely make a new version of this video sometime in the next week or two.
Hey, I noticed on your video that the UI is pretty small. Is there not any way to increase the size of the icons so I don't have to squint to choose what brushes I want? I tried looking up the answer, but I mainly got past complaints on their forums.
Blueblythez change your resolution setting actually not do any difference on actual resolution, it just make the icon in your pc bigger. I have fhd screen but how small I lower the resolution, watching anime in 480p still looks pixelated (I was only use hd screen before and it still watchable). I realize it when most of all my hd wallpaper collection looks blurry no matter what resolution I use 😥
I'm excited for it. I have a wish list for what I'd like to see with a sp5. But I have little hopes that they will deliver. My ideal machine would have a 1060m nvidea chip in it. =) If they made a Surface Pro 5 with an optional upgrade to the 1060m I would be extremely excited, but... I like to game as well. What are you planning on doing with the machine? btw. I'm slow to comment on youtube, feel free to email me at justice(a)tabletpro.net
If you don't have anything right now and aren't in a rush I'd probably wait till microsofts supposed Surface Book 2 and Surface Pro 5 announcement before purchasing. of course if money is an issue the Surface Pro 4 i5 is one of the best options out there. (my personal machine is a 2016 vaio z flip and I wouldn't take a free Surface Book or Surface Pro 4 if it meant I had to give this one up)
Thanks for your reply, I don't use UA-cam that much these days also but to watch tutorials and reviews. I will be using the device to draw and maybe other things but mostly artwork.
really for artwork the Surface Pro 4 should be more than enough. You may want to wait anyway, but unless you're an avid gamer or skilled 3d artist you'll likely be very happy with the Surface Pro 4. Good luck to you! If you create anything your excited to share with me send me an email! justice(a)tabletpro.net

Tablet Pro Do you have a video on how to make my own artist pad. I use medibang more than Krita and I would love to learn how to set up a personalized pad for it.
Just a quick question. I can't seem to use touch and pen at the same time. When my pen gets anywhere near the screen, all touch gets disabled. So the drag button doesn't work. Is your tablet doing it because it is using WACOM? and not n-trig?
There is a setting in windows 10 called "disable touch when my pen is in use" its in the windows pen and ink settings. That is what i would check first on your system. you may also try setting up the buttons to work with the + 1 sec toggle in Tablet Pro. add that option then tap the button and release. then quickly use the pen. some programs won't accept SPT (simultaneous pen and touch) because they use an outdated touch api. Leonardo and Paint Tool Sai V2 use the new api. (as does onenote and you can check if your system supports it by testing the ruler while drawing) hope this helps

(I installed the Wintab Driver of N-Trig) ??? The Pressure sensitive is OK, but the accuracy is not correct... : ( Please, any solution? ... :s
+Marcelo Baeza you can try to disable hdpi scaling. That caused me trouble with pen alignment. They did just update Krita to 3.2. Perhaps update first. Then try to fix.
when i 1st installed krita(Surface pro 2) all worked fine, not one problem, after i was done, shut off my surface and turning it back on the next day things started to go bad, the on screen courser and pen tip where not synced, re calibrated and did not help, reinstalled krita used latest beta build this time but it kept happening, reinstalled WinTab Drivrs and that did it, thought i was in the clear but after an other shutdown, now the pressure sensitivity and pen eraser dont work , when i try to use ereaser on pen the entire thing goes unresponsive and have to click out krita window to get the non pressure pen to work,
Wow, Kissassmage, that sounds like a big pain in the butt! I'm sorry to hear your having such difficulty. Would you let us know if you figure out if there is some work around?
i did manage to fix it, turns out the wacom wintab drivers was causing the issues, so i downloaded the n-trig wintab drivers and have not run into any issues since.

Anyone know how to fix the issue of no pen pressure at all? I have a surface pro 7 and I've tried official and unofficial pens, installed drivers, tried multiple programs and I have no pressure or opacity control
What about in OneNote? Have you gone into device manager and uninstalled the pen devices? Almost definitely a reimage will fix it. It’s not the same as reinstalling windows. It’s reimaging it (saying the name wrong I think) to factor default.
Hey, I have the Surface Pro 4, and I tried downloading the nTrig wintab, but when I went to Krita, it did not give me the pen pressure that I wanted. When I ran the download, it's just saying to scan my PC. Do I have to pay to get the pen pressure? Thanks!
you shouldn't have to pay anything to get the pen pressure working. its a driver update from windows. I just keep it in the folder to make things easier to find. I've heard restarting helps and possibly running photoshop. (although admittedly i'm not sure how photoshop being installed or running would help) but a user reported that this helped him.
forgive me for this basic question, did you restart? I don't remember what I did differently. If that doesn't do it would you reply again and I'll spend some time on it.
I did restart and came short unfortunately. However render the question I had earlier obsolete, I just figure out how to get the pressure sensitivity working. Don't know how dowloading Photoshop does anything but it fixed the issue. Sorry for the inconvience.

+Ene Karels hey, no problem. So from what I hear and have personally experienced - you gotta download ps. Install it and you can probably uninstall it after. Tablet Pro yes I did and I tried opening photoshop since it apparently fixes the drivers for krita but still no dice (the pressure sensitivity does work in photoshop but not in krita
+Michael Piekenbrock I know it's rather simple but did you fully shut the machine down and then back on? I've had a few people share that after restarting the machine a few times it worked. Which version of windows are you using?
Currently I have gotten the Surface Pro from best buy, i5 with 8gb if that's good to not, and Krita seems to have a tiny UI for me. Do you have a solution or a fix for this issue or will I need to find a new drawing App because of the tiny over Overlaying Option Boxes?
thank you, though i have another question: recently i have been waiting for the surface pen to arrive via mail as the store was out of stock at the time, but Krita always opens up with an Offset error message and neither of the options map it correctly, it is stuck on the top left of the canvas when trying to draw. One solution is to return the entire PC's zoom to 100% but this isn't what i want as the UI becomes microscopic. Is there another solution to this problem?
+thenewgamer64 yes. I have my computer set to 250% scaling on a 4K machine. Krita also has hi dpi support - settings - configure Krita - general - enable hi-dpi support. Currently I think it’s bugged. It will ask you to select screen resolution. Just exit out and disable the hi dpi setting and just increase the Windows scaling. You may try the newest build of Krita as it may be fixed. 3.2.1
well I've updated to the newest version, changed my zoom to the recommended for now and enabled and disabled and restarted my tablet, during it on it does give me the prompt, i decided to turn on support hidpi, though still get the prompt, but as of writing this message it works and maps correctly, but i think it may be a fluke, not sure. it's possible it mapped correctly when i didn't have it full screen at launch, but unsure, thank you still for the advice as always Tablet Pro
