Moon Beam reminds me of Macbeth from Wearingeul. I can't choose favourites to be honest. The ones I'd like to buy a full bottle of are Bah Humbug, Tranquility, Velvet Emerald, Nightfall and Fireside Snug. All the others I like I already have similar hues from other brands. I don't like the scented inks either. I don't care for the smell but I dislike the fact that they don't do well with TRP.
I don't need to enter the giveaway because I have the calendar myself but thank you for doing these videos, they've been so much fun! Enjoy Christmas, and all the best for 2024!
Great choices!! It is a shame with the scented inks. I'm hoping that other papers will hold them better.
Jacaranda flowers are periwinkle in color, which is best described as lavender with a tinge of baby blue. The Sailor ink which comes closest is Shikiori Fuji-Sugata, but I would say Pilot Iroshizuku Ajisai is a better match.

Merry Christmas, such a beautiful collection. Bucks Fizz is a champagne and orange juice drink that is drunk at Christmas and New Years, you can buy it ready made. A humbug is a hardboiled stripey sweet, that comes in either black and white or that kind of red and white. I will not be entering the giveaway because I have the calendar myself, but thank you so much for hosting it. And thank you for doing these videos, they've been so much fun. Merry Christmas. Great video! It is hard to pick one favorite - I like Bah Humbug a lot! But Sugar Snap and Raise a Glass are close contenders for me. What pens do you put your shimmer inks in? I love shading inks.
Merry Christmas! I love your choices! I love to put my shimmer inks into pens with large feeds or broader nibs. Some of my favorites are the Jinhao X159, a Kaweco Sport with a Broad nib, and a TWISBI Eco with a Stub 1.1. :)
I have a TWSBI Eco with a broad nib but it is new and I have not inked it yet. I think I will try a shimmer in that one. Do you use an ultrasonic cleaner?
@@ShariArts I have not used an ultrasonic cleaner. I usually just soak my nib/feed in water for a day if I have any super stubborn ink.

Omg it’s hard to just pick one favorite 😍 I think I’m torn between Cinnabun, Glacier and Weeping Willow! They are all soooo gorgeous, though 🤩 🖋️

I love bucks fizz (also my favourite drink), Rainbows end, tranquillity & Raise a Glass. I love purples, it's my favourite colour! Like you, I hate the smell of cinnamon. It gives me headaches & makes me feel sick.

Also not a fan of scented inks. But i happen to like the smell of Cinnamon, however Cinnabun looks like RO's Caffe Crema to me...
Merry Christmas!! Both are gorgeous blues 😊 The Cinnabun is much warmer than the RO Caffe Crema. But I do think the shading is similar!
I don't know if any other Brits have already commented this but 'bucks fizz' is a drink we have on Christmas day (usually in the morning!) And it is orange juice mixed with champagne. Its essentially an 'orange mimosa' which actually makes sense with that colour! ❤

WOW! Such beautiful colors! Do you know if some of these colors are going to be carried online to buy? There are some colors that I would love to buy to have! I really appreciate you doing a color search for all 25 colors. It really gave me a good idea of what I liked and what I didn’t. And…I definitely want to buy the ink vent calendar for next year because it would be so much fun getting all of those different colors! Thank you for making this video!❤️❤️❤️
I'm sure Diamine will release some of them in regular bottles sometime this year (not sure of a date, but maybe around june/august) I have loved the inkvent for 2 years now and find it is a great way to introduce new colors into your collection!
I loved the blues this time around, so it's hard to choose from Early Dusk, Glacier, and Blizzard! Maybe Glacier because of that star bright quality to it...

Pick one?? lol. Hard to choose, there were some really pretty ones. I'm pulled towards Cashmere Rose and Weeping willow... I'll go with Cashmere Rose.

I think this year was better than last year. I am also disappointed with cinnabun. The ink color is beautiful. I am not sure if the scent would bother me, but the feathering would.
Hahah I know it is hard to pick one! I think the original TRP did okay with the feathering, but the S-TRP did not like it one bit!
I think masquerade or cashmere rose is my favourite. Buck’s Fizz is a drink we have on Christmas Day in the U.K. it’s basically orange juice and Prosecco/fizzy wine and sometimes a bit of lemonade too and we tend to have it with lunch or breakfast. Lovely to see all of the inks together in large swatches.

My husband had bought the inkvent for me for Christmas for the previous two years. Earlier this year I said, don't buy it for me this year. I still have heaps from the previous years. Slightly regret telling him not to buy it, so many of them look good. Weeping Willow, masquerade and lavender frost look the best to me. It's such a shame that the scented inks are always so watery. I wonder what colour next years box will be. Thanks for sharing

I'm a sucker for icey blue colours. I recently got the pilot iroshizuku fuyu-syogun, the blue-ish grey one. And, it's so beautiful. So, of course the glacier star bright caught my attention.

I wonder how many will be sold in the larger bottles, and when? I spotted 5 I would like to have, but I hate the tiny bottles, which is why I don't buy the calendar. Of course, it is hard to justify the larger bottles when I have so many inks already! I still enjoy watching the swatch videos--thanks for sharing!
I agree! I think they come out usually in mid-year but I may be wrong. The little bottles are tough to work with for bigger pens, but I also feel if it is a color I don't like, then I'm not stuck with a big bottle 😂

Great choices! I used an A5 Hobonichi Notebook, a Kakimori Brass Dip Pen, and a clear acrylic stamp block :)

I'd have to say my favorite is Moon Beam! It's so "moody" to me lol. And yes!! on the FWP Poison Envy, I said that as soon as you swatched it in the other video lol. It's always sold out though :(

Oh my gosh, that Weeping Willow- so beautiful. Thanks for sharing this- hoping I can still snag this calendar at some point down the line. Just got into fountain pen ink (I'm an artist and realized you can paint with it!) and trying to figure out what's what. These colors and effects make me swoon.
It's so good! If you like chromoshading (where the ink has multiple colors in it) check out some of the Sailor inks, or Birmingham Pen Co if you're in the states!
@@mydandeliondiaries I have a big set of sailor samples on the way. I have Birmingham super high on my list but can't find samples anywhere! Thanks for the reminder to keep looking into that- it slipped on my "brands to keep an eye on" list when I realized there were no samples to be found. I think if I won the lottery, I'd just order all their inks, because they are both subtle in color but dramatic in effect... oh gosh, this fountain pen ink thing is a rabbit hole!

The scent is strong to me, but maybe because I'm not a fan of it haha. But I agree that the color is a stunning pink.

Great choice!! You can use shimmer inks without the shimmer if you like, just don't shake the bottles :)

@@mydandeliondiaries what is that glass cylinder you use to swatch the ink? I love how it helps to promote shading and variation. As well as create a near perfect circle swatch.
@@tyjinks it is a small acrylic stamp block :) I found it on JetPens I think, but I know Craft stores and Amazon have them too!

I think my favourite is Raise a Glass, but there are a lot that come in a close second and could be my favourite on any given day: Astral, Blizzard, Moonbeam, Bah Humbug, Fireside Snug, … 😆
I’m going to have so much fun using all these inks in my journals next year.

There are a few that I really liked this year, but my favorite is absolutely Tranquility. That one is STUNNING. One of the ones I instantly inked in a pen. I loved that we had so many shimmer and chameleon inks - I was getting a bit fed up with all the overly sheeing ones in the past. So .. I'll take shading and the chromo like in weepin willow any day over too much sheening. Lovely video. Loved seeing them all next to each other.

I also am excited we got this bigger swatch video where we got to hear your thoughts on all the inks together now that you’ve tried them all! I agree Weeping Willow is gorgeous, but I think in the end my own favorite still has to be Bah Humbug, which I was enchanted with ever since you opened it-I’ve never seen a red quite like it.

Fireside snug is a favourite with cashmere rose close second. The names are just perfect for the colours and I like that they're standard inks. Just nice warm colours.
