Thanks Fred, so do I. I really enjoy putting them together and so does Si and Dom (video/editing), we’re facing a bit of quandary now; do we make more through the winter while the roads are greasy and the weather is grim, or hold off until spring? Cheers, Michael
He was ace, and there’s a lot of love for Bob in the comments 😂 We’ll be brining you more episodes but we’ve not yet nailed the timing of the next one (Winter/grotty roads, etc). Cheers, Michael
Really good watch. These videos will give other people a good idea of what other bikes are like, because it really is a mine field out there, looking for the next bike.
I was surprised to hear his observation on KTM, which was the biggest issue of that bike .. "You have to rev high to achieve smoothness. " .. spot on Bob
Top bloke Bob, great to be able to try so many bikes before making a decision, at least you narrowed it down. Hope you're fully recovered from incident
Excellent I do like these episodes be interesting to see what the choices would be for a younger rider or maybe someone progressing up from an A2 licence. Bob hit the nail on the head though it's all about smile per mile 👍
BMW F750GS, Moto Guzzi 1400 California, Yamaha Tracer 900GT. Those would be my selections for him based on what I think his height is and what he said he's looking for. All are lighter and smaller than the Goldwing and allow for commuting and touring.
I enjoyed this and Bob seems like a good sort, he should have his own YT channel! I made my own predictions and got 0 out of 3! I've edited my comment not to give any spoilers or clues but making predictions during these episodes will be a fun game 😊
A thoroughly enjoyable episode. I found Bob to be a very nice gentlemen and I enjoyed the interaction with you guys. His final choice was a bit of a surprise to me, but it just goes to show you never know what is going to tickle your fancy! Congrats, Bob. Well done, mate! Enjoy the ride. On to the next episode, then...
Good to see this used bike buyer comparison series. I very recently enquired with superbike factory re stock BUT I seem to recall was told by staff NO TEST RIDES allowed at their Donnington site ! ....Please let me know if this is NOT the case. Unless I see/hear otherwise I have to assume that Test Rides not permitted. Oh & before end of vid but after seeing which of the 3 was most favoured I had identified that an R1200/R1250R would likely be ideal match. Thanks for sharing Ride Safe 👍🏍
I like this format, too. It would be cool to show us around the Superbike Factory to see some of the kind of bikes on offer (and maybe include the customer's spontaneous opinions on any of them). For me, this might take away a little sales/purchase pressure that I feel that each What Bike Next customer might have when filming with you, and definitely when coming to a final decision at the store. I look forward to the next one.
What a great selection of bikes to choose from!! I'm torn between the very functional and good looking Beemer and the super-functional awesome performing KTM. I don't have a KTM dealer anywhere close to where I live in Central California. So I'll choose the BMW!
Thank you George. It’s a tried and tested template and I didn’t think it had appeared in the motorcycling world until posts appeared after episode 1 about an old show on Men & Motors.
Posting this at the first bike reveal. It seems clear he’s gonna go with it. He was delighted and knew the engine. His reaction says everything. He’ll go for it.
@@BorisKarloff66 They’re cracking aren’t they - though I do love the new Mt-09 SP too. A stonking triple that’s got enough boot to keep everything clenched! Cheers, Michael
Thanks! If only we had full control over the weather every time... 🙂 There's plenty of other options, I think he'd have liked an MT-09 or even a Speedmaster too.
Yes Mark, that’s the spirit! We’ve had a lot of interest from riders who want our help which is great. Just got to sort the limited light and greasy roads which is a little out of our control! Cheers, Michael
Thanks Judit - we’re hoping to record some more episodes soon but the winter might halt progress. Not really fair to expect test rides in the cold and wet… or is it?! 😆 Cheers, Michael
I think that engine would have suited Bob, if not in an MT-09, certainly the Tracer but then again he said he didnt' want anything too tall or adventure style.
Thanks Paul, not sure if we’ll end up taking a weather enforced break over winter or grin and bear it with a potential grotty test ride element. What do you reckon? Cheers, Michael
The MT10 was a great choice, I've run one for 6 and a half years. Enjoy the format and I'm often up at the Superbike Factory cafe as its only up the road from me. After chatting to the Bennetts crew at the NEC, I'm impressed at the content and advice you guys provide. Keep up the good work 👍
I really like this show (!?) maybe it could be a thing on a TV channel. Anyway looked to me like the BMW suited best but I’m sure there is a triumph that would do a better job.
Correction: at 08:51 of course the MT10 is 998cc not 1170cc. Thanks to @The Abyss for spotting
Men and Motors did this years ago, really enjoyed it, real people, realistic budget. Great stuff. Can we have more of this please?
We’ll do our best!
The world needs more Bob, nice chap
I just wanted to nip in and thank Bennetts for their support of Front End Chatter, it's the best biking podcast, bar none.
You’re very welcome Alister. We’ve been supporting Si and Mufga for nearly 6 years and long may it continue.
This is a great format, I hope that you do more of these!

Bobs like every experienced rider I meet at a gas station or stopped for coffee while out on a ride... instant friends and chatting bikes immediately.

Had a smile on my face all through this episode! What a great format.
Congrats
Thanks, that's great to hear.

My new favourite UA-cam series. Thanks guys! Can't wait for the next one!
Great to hear it, cheers! We'planning the next one very soon...

I want to be a Bob when I grow up! What a legend! 😎😎
Top quality! There’s a lot of Bob love. We had to edit soooo much - the conclusion would have been 25 mins long on its own 🤦🏼♂️😆

As the choice of one’s next bike is always impossible, the show does do a great job in helping one. Focus on a decision. Keep it going. Love it.
Excellent second video in the series gents. Three interesting options.
Brilliant show, I can't have enough of them, love it, very informative as well as entertaining.
Thanks for the positivity! Hopefully we can continue making more.

Great episode!
From the three, I think the Bimmer suits him best.
I would go for the MT10. If it was a good-looking as Yamaha´s FZ1 from the 00´s.
I hope he tries a Honda CB1100 EX or RS as I think one of them fill fulfil his needs 🏍️👍🏻
Great video Michael. Bob is a star and I wish him all the best for his biking future. 👍
Really enjoying these ! Cheers
Love this series. Such a great episode! Production value, presentation and edit was incredibly impressive! Well done 🔝🎬🎥👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Good stuff, guys. Enjoying this series. Editing was a nice improvement compared to the last episode, too! (love from USA)
Thanks, hope you liked the Starsky and Hutch style credits 😊
First thought was R1200RS so close. Gonna be a cracking series and looks like a new ride out venue too.
Had one, loved it. I'd still have it today if the missus want used to the comfort of a previous K16. Had to change to the R1200RT for the compromise.

He's lucky to get a test ride from this dealer. Was told by the staff last year they don't do test rides.
Those older mt10s are holding their value well. I loved mine, only issue was it drank fuel like Ollie Reed drank beer. 😅
This is a great series
Cheers Robyn, glad you're liking it so far.

He made the best choice in the end imo.

Why wouldn’t you enduro/off-road the Urban GS? It’s relatively light, good suspension travel, comfy, and lots of tire options
Great venue to find a new bike 🏍🏍🏍🏍🏍
3 owners, 3,000 miles = it must be awful

But who broke the BMW’s brake lever… ? 👀
Cheers, thanks for that. Hope to have more episodes coming soon.
Sssh 🤫. It's fixed now!
This year I bought a brand new 22 MT10 and have hardly used it. I prefer riding my tracer 900gt a lot more.
Tough choice but that 3-cylinder Yamaha motor is an absolute cracker. I’m sure Simon would agree, he loves the T9GT.
