    Good review Matt.I've just put the str's on me v-strom650 after the k60's.It's amazing that such diff.treads can work.Only 5k on the rear eh but good enough to replace with same.

    Best tyres I ever run. Wet grip very good, low noise, sharp handling. Definitely buy second set to my xt1200z.

      I think the horsepower’s and the right hand will make a difference also

    nice video bro. Im between this one (Rally str) and the K60 Scout... I think Scouts have far more mileage than Rallys but I'm not sure about their attitude on the wet... Thanks anyway, safe rides!

      A buddy of mine has the K60s and hasn't had any issues in the rain. I think the Rally STR is a much better road tire than K60s. Not sure how they compare offroad.

    Great tire but i find out it is more a midweight motorcycle tire. On my Yamaha xt660z with only 48 H/P it can do twice the mileage easy. 90/10 road offroad.

    good review, what tire pressures are you running front and rear?

    • @advmatt
      @advmatt  Рік тому +1

      I am running about 30psi up front and 36 in the rear. I could reduce the rear pressure some but I keep there so I can add luggage with much fuss.

      @@advmatt thanks for the quick reply, i ordered str, and was wondering because i heard plenty that the factory tire pressures make them loose grip in corners. your bike is heavy, so ill start with your tire pressures and see what works best.

    Thx for the review. I’ve been watching many reviews on this tyre and Dunlop Trailmax Mission to ascertain the noise on the road at less than 90kPa. You mentioned they got noisier as they wore down. At how may miles did this occur and at what speeds?

    • @advmatt
      @advmatt  3 роки тому

      Good question, it has been a lot of miles since I rode on those tires. As memory serves, I started noticing the road noise from the front tire around 3500 to 4000 miles at speeds from 50 to 60 mph. I have spent 10k on the Dunlop trailmax mission and it is a quieter tire but the pirelli handles better on the road because it is a softer compound. The Dunlop tire is quite hard, I got 9500 miles out of the rear tire but as it got later into the mileage it didnt feel as secure. Hope this helps.

      @@advmatt Thanks for your take on the two. I have scoured the Internet and there are no comparisons between these two, so maybe you should do a comparative review. For me, mileage is not a concern, only road noise and road grip with the ability to do the occasional off road on hard packed dirt (no mud or sand). That being the case, STR the go over the Dunlop? What would you recommend? Also road noise for me is an issue between 35 and 55 kph as I use my bike a lot for commuting. Don't do higher than 55 on commute so not really an issue if noise 50 to 6 mph.

    • @advmatt
      @advmatt  3 роки тому +1

      @@larrynarunsky4432 based on your requirements I would recommend the STR. I think it handles on the road much better and the noise levels will be at higher speeds than what you normally ride. I didn't like the STRs offroad unless it was hard pack. Gravel and sand challenged these tires. One other thing to consider is the bike you are riding. The same tire on a big heavy adventure bike will perform differently than a lighter weight bike. The tire sizes will also have affect, so my advice is based on using these tires on a R1200GS. Hope this helps.

    can i do cornering ,.. to what extend i can bend in corners

    • @advmatt
      @advmatt  5 років тому +1

      It really depends on your riding ability. I was able to carve corners much harder and deeper than I had on more knobby tires with confidence, but i ride conservatively compared to most other riders.

    dear Matt what do you recommend for trip with 25% off road? Do you recommend this tire?

    • @advmatt
      @advmatt  4 роки тому +1

      I dont recommend these if you are able to purchase the new Dunlop Trailmax Mission tires. I think it is better offroad tire and will last much longer. The Dunlop front is a deeper tread better suited for offroad conditions. Good luck.

    Im going from a scorpion trail tyre to this rally str tyre. Is it a tubeless setup?

    • @advmatt
      @advmatt  4 роки тому

      Yes it is tubeless, depending on tyres size.
