I’m 39 and I’ve been following Maura’s story ever since my sophomore year of college- I never imagined that 20 years later we’d still be trying to figure out what happened to her.
I hope 2024 is the year Julie, Fred & the rest of the Murray family finally get some answers💙
maura is crazy and nobody wants her back

Probably one of the most mysterious missing person's case out there.
It definitely is.
First place I would look would be that bus driver that made the second call.
@@robertschumann7737yes! I’ve always suspected the bus driver for some reason!
Check out Brandon Swanson’s story it’s a crazy story too. He was on the phone with his dad for 45 minutes when he had car trouble and was lost
@@jennycole6529 I remember that. Completely insane. He could see the lights of town coming up right? Then gone.
I remember when this happened. I lived in NH at the time. I hope she is found someday soon.
Her face is iconic in the true crime community it’s sad but I know that face I’ve seen so many videos about her bizarre disappearance and other odd things connected
The podcast is great! I really recommend subscribing to it. Hopefully this is the year they find her.
Why didn’t anyone checkout the bus driver thoroughly? Just seems odd he placed a call and then 3 minutes later she is nowhere to be found. I’ve always thought about that with this story.
They looked into him. He called police right away and his wife was home.
The “bus driving” was a side hustle, shuttling skiers to various slopes.
I'm sure they checked him out. I read he died about 4 years after
Maura's death, while in vacation in Florida. It be very risky for him
to have done that.
Yeah ! He abducted her then called the police....?!?!? 🤔
@@TheAnia7057the wife easily could be lying Lol
What you think everyone’s honest?
It is very likely that someone picked her up, she was probably drunk, shaken and therefore vulnerable.
There are too many predators out there.
That seems the most likely scenario given the behaviour of the search dogs
@@possessedslig How reliable were the search dogs? They were given "her scent" off a new pair of gloves that Maura probably never wore, according to Fred Murray. Dogs will pick up a scent on the gloves but it doesn't mean it was Maura's.
@@Bigwave2003 ok I wasn't aware of that
Or she could be living in another place. Clearly she didn't have strong family connection.
No one even missed her the first day
I agreed. She locked her cars doors. I doubt she just walked out in the woods by herself
julie is so articulate. She is such an asset to the effort to find maura.
Her sister looks so much like her! I'm so sorry for it all. May God give Maura's family strenght to keep on going.
The atms back then usually gave $20s… the 16 dollars was left because she couldn’t withdraw it. She was short 4 bucks
Exactly. It's grasping at straws to say it shows Maura wanted to keep her bank account open.
@@Bigwave2003. Well, she DID. Her NEXT direct deposit would still go into her account.
@@Tryp-j9d Who said she had direct deposit? And if you're going to end it all I don't think you worry much about direct deposit or your bank account.

Now the family is demanding answers that is BS the father and family have never stopped looking for her come on now
She has very distinctive features. She would be easily recognized, I would think. Especially since her face has been so over the internet for 20 years. Crazy
It still baffles me how to this day it’s still a mystery what happened to Maura. This is the one case I want to see solved. Her disappearance is so bizarre. When she left school, I feel like she was maybe feeling a lot of pressure from college and she just wanted a break and wanted to get away for a bit. I think that’s why she looked up some locations of places to go and why she withdrew her money from the ATM. Something must’ve really happened for her to flee the crash. I think she could’ve been intoxicated and maybe it was one of the things that she wasn’t supposed to. So since she was most likely drinking and crashed, she fled because she didn’t want to be caught, but then something terrible happened to her while she was walking away from the crash.
She needed a break? The problem with that theory is that Maura was just returning from a long semester break.
she ran from her car probably drunk and died of exposure and still hasnt been found. unusual but possible
@Frugalady88 im from Mass and have researched it alot. not much makes sense but her taking off.
@Melfie83 didn't know about the knife. Did they eventually tested it for fingerprints or DNA? Was it contaminated and didn't serve as evidence?
Unlikely! I agree with her sister that she panicked and got a ride with a stranger to leave the scene.
I agree on the running away from the scene part, I got in an accident when I was 19 in late Nov n knocked down a pole in a wooded area it was pretty late too. I had also locked myself out of the car with my phone inside. So I decided to walk on foot for help. The closest place was a mile away. My first instinct was to get away from the crash n I had also some alcohol that night but not enough to be intoxicated, so I was just scared of getting in trouble n just ran off into the night.
This is really creepy
This case keeps me up at night… I hope one day you’re found Maura❤️
She died there is no way she is alive out there
I really hope this gets solved.
Maura Healey, Governor of MA looks so much like Maura Murray. Hope they get some closure. Have been following her case ever since. This is the only case that has no leads at all.
YES! I had to look it up, but wow! Dimples, lips, and same teeth! Even the eyes are crazy similar! That’s weird! Definitely her doppelgänger if nothing else.
How interesting...and both named Maura, which is not exactly a very common name.
I just saw a comment from Julia Murray on her tiktok stating that they actually got in contact with Maura Healey! There is a 10 year age gap though
I don't see it.
I’d be interested to know- was the money she withdrew still in the car after she went missing? Her purse? Phone? Car keys? Was the bus driver fully investigated, his home, property searched? That’s a very short timeframe from when 2nd 911 was made and police arriving to find her gone.
I’m also interested but I guarantee Julie will touch on that in the podcast
none of that stuff was found in her car. no phone, no keys, no $, no backpack. only her duffle bag with running clothes and what appears to be a grocery bag of hygiene.
Girl been missing for 20 years with nothing ever found…sad and crazy.
Sorry but the sister really doesn't know any more about the case than most of
the commenters on here ! Not being rude but it's true. Podcast makers are only
interested in the case to boost their listener totals . All the facts are known and
have been discussed dozens of times already.
As for someone " suddenly " remembering something after 20 years of massive
publicity.......Get real folks. !!
The Vanished Podcast does a good job of giving the families of missing persons a voice. I find it odd that content creators are being criticized. Most are doing their best to give voice to victims whose stories need to be spread to the public. I'm glad Maura's sister is doing the podcast and I hope the family gets answers. It's been too long.
I dont either. And i dont understand what she meant by Maura being lost in her own story. Everything I've watched on the case focuses on Maura and tells her story. I dont get what she meant by that. Her story isn't one where the main focus was on a suspect. I would think they would be happy about all the coverage.
I was thinking exactly the same. Glad I'm not alone. I find it unfair to say "the stories have been just co-opted by strangers". Note, these "strangers" have kept Maura's case alive in the social awarness for the last twenty years. There is a lot of great coverage from different people out there. We should respect their work that mostly give the victims their voice and do support their families. This is my opinion.
There's a lot of reckless unscrupulous creators out there cashing in.
If you keep listening after she said that, she explained why perfectly shortly after.
@@nevadatan7323 Exactly. People only want to be entertained so they'll defend these people no matter what.
Maura, if you're still alive, and reading this, I hope that you are doing well and that you will someday come forth and let your family know you're doing ok.
If not, then I hope she is RIP.
I definitely think Foul Play is possible. It just seems more likely she ran on foot as she may have been drunk. Footprints may have been in the snow but were missed. She became lost and succumed to the elements. Her cell was useless as there was no service.
They would’ve found her remains. She didn’t make it on foot in the snow through the forest that far while drunk.
missing info on the two brothers in the A frame house, the men from the ski lodge close by, etc. The blood found in the A frame house right by where her car was abandoned. How they were addicts and left shortly after. Or the track coach she was hooking up with and the cabin his group owned? I hope she’s in Canada living her best life but i have a feeling she will never be found.
The bus driver needs to be investigated and his property, if his dead or alive
hes been dead for years
He died in 2009 I think.
They investigated and found no evidence of anything
He WAS, EXTENSIVELY!!!! TOTALLY INNOCENT.
Stop.
Looks and sounds like self deletion to me.
What an unfortunate case. Maura's behavior before going missing seems odd. Why would she lie about a family member dying, then withdrawing all her money and then going on a roadtrip to NH? Was she seeing someone secretly or hearing voices? Truly an unusual case and makes me think maybe she wanted to run away?
Her father looked for her a lot ! So , sad !
OK!!! Julie....
I remember seeing a show about Maura's disappearance. I pray that she is found, sending love to her family! ❤
THE NEIGHBOR WHO SAW HER PRIOR
Did she hit a car and spun out ? Or what caused her to spin around in the opposite direction? That could play a huge part if another car was involved in the accident.
It feels like she was running away from home.
very sad
Whoever did it has done it before
She probably ran away from her car to avoid a DUI after the Bus driver said he would call the police for her. She was a good runner so after a couple of hours so could be really far away from the accident place. Waaay further than they have been looking for her. There were no trails into the woods because she knew she would be easily traceable with all that snow. And she wouldn't take a ride from someone because from the moment the bus driver called the police any car approaching in the darkness could be police. So she just continued running/walking down the road and with every car aproaching she ditched to the side of the road to cover. She was never seen again simply because she didn't want to be seen. And eventually the elements got her. She just has to be found yet. I think this still is the most likely scenario.
@skychaser5591 But over 20 years later she definitely should have been found by now! That's a long time not being seen
1:15 " those are California Pa high-school school colors and my teammate was a fresh men at Marist men's basketball team with Rick Smits he was from Clarion Pa....
I think that she was not Maura who hit the car, and the accident was intentional.
Whats with all the car accidents
They 2nd guy who called 911 did it
Exactly what I was thinking
It was a youtuber named 112Dirtbag
what was his name
Did what?
Look up 112Dirtbag
She could have wondered into the woods and died somewhere and she mightnbe hidden in plain site ..or bus driver did it or by some miracle the next vehicle that stopped was a serial killer that happened to be driving by ..I've lived in NH and late at night there are zero vehicles out at night besides cops ..so that's would also be on the list .bad cop , miracle odds a seriel killer, bus driver, or unfound frozen body deep in woods
Yeah, she was LOOKING FOR a RIDE…..IN the woods!!!
2:01 well theres your answer.... she fell into a delusional psychosis and ran away and died by her own cause is my guess. 2:28 i mean why? this further proves my point. She was acting crazy.
They did not talk about that old guy named mister 112dirtbag because he was a faker and his weird video a hoax
I believe some of the locals were right about that house next door from 2019 and first called into Fred in 04' when they didn't let him search it. Idk might just be me.
It's very sad.Oncw you get in someone's car it is definitely possible.Did tpl A come? More on the bus driver. If she was hurt she could have been vulnerable to him or anyone.
I think she left $16 in her account because most ATMs only let you withdraw in $20 increments (or more). At least that's been my experience.
Most likely, she is no longer alive and buried somewhere deep in a deep little-known forest
Was tge bus driver investigated thoroughly?
Did they not question the bus driver? He could’ve abducted her then called 911 to make it look like he didn’t?
What about her stuff? Did she take her baggage? Anything? Purse?
She took the alcohol she bought and a box of sleeping pills.
How long was the wait from the driver to call the dispatcher.. was she freezing?...
Only a few minutes. He KNEW that she was lying about having called AAA. Because he KNEW there was NO CELL SERVICE there!!!
The bus driver made two 911 calls.. hmmm 🤔🧐
I think they need to search area car was found again, lot's of time their body would be found less than 200ft from area
I think the first half of what she did was obviously someone else using her devices .. getting q few cents from recycled bottles is what bums do
I get where she is coming from but other channels covering her sisters case, helps her sister...... they should be reaching out to her tho!!
what?
Her strange behavior before going missing says something but what. Have they had profilers working on it?
many are guessing she was schizophrenic or BPD
He was..
It would very annoying if we never find out what actually happened that night to Maura
Yeah "annoying" doesn't begin to describe how her parents would feel
She doesn’t want to be found.
DID THEY LOOK INTO SERIAL KILLERS WHO WERE ACTIVE AT THAT TIME?
There's serial killers roaming around the highways state to state, constantly. Anyone in particular they should start with? And why?
@user-db4gr7ne8lwhy would you say that?
Well, now she only has 999,980 years left to wait.
It was winter...?
Yeah, FEBRUARY 9th USUALLY IS, DUMBBELL!!!
Didnt she have a drinking problem? She had an accident. What is the issue? She probably died from exposure and just hasn't been found.
Her car was found but she wasn’t. She left her car on a side of the road after accident. If she died from exposure, she would be not far from the car
EVERYONE at UMASS has a drinking problem. It’s MANDATORY!!!
If you can't see her on the surface of the planet, she might be underneath..
I don't think she was running away just escaping a dui.
The bud driver is known as passed away but I think the body might be 6ft under where ever the bus driver lived
Shes probably dead
Bus driver did it!
@user-db4gr7ne8l Exactly. He inserts himself into the investigation by being a "witness", thinks he's clever covered his 👣 tracks. Meanwhile, he's really the culprit hiding in plain sight....
I’ve always said it was the bus driver!
Anyone remember that horrible case a long while ago of a young girl maybe 7-8, who lived in Florida in a trailer park type place w her father (cannot remember her name). She was riding her bike alone outside one day and suddenly went missing. They discovered her body in a trash bag in a neighbors house right there probably steps from her own house. The police should always search homes in immediate area of where a person goes missing first thing.

Officer Bruce Mackay was in the area (outside of his jurisdiction) and had unaccounted time during those hours
It's showing that he was shot and killed during a traffic stop back in 2007.

Scan code " from this eyewitness to explain judgement from this ample eyewitness testimony given to me..."..
So it’s Amy Schumer
This reeks of an intentional disappearance. Maybe she wanted to live off grid.
Nah, I don't buy it. She lied about a death in the family to her professors, meaning she planned to come back and wanted an excuse for the absence. I think she probably met someone and went on a trip with them.
@@tjwoostabut she also packed up her dorm room, left her ex a note, took all her money, had a big bag of clothes and personal stuff in her car
She may have had a mental break, check Skid Row.
Always eager.." she was shying away from a compliment ".. lol
maybe her body was dissolved in an acidic solution.
I think its a mystery. But my gut tells me she left on her own terms. Between the email and cash withdrawals, it feels intentional. I think she probably could move across the country and just start over with a new identity and disappear. People live in witness protection in the open far away all the time. I think its possible, the US is massive. I hope she's alive out there.
You sound delusional. No way she just went missing with $280. It was definitely the bus driver.
@@mskaymart I can't believe how many people are willing to defame a complete stranger based on nothing. Why the bus driver? Why not the lady who called 911? Or the police who responded? Or a big rig trucker just rolling by? What is the evidence against this random guy? Ive asked probably 3 times. I'm game to learn more info...
She was an alcoholic
I am going to surmise Maura was called by a former reserve (she was in the military/had association with the military) who asked for help. She left Uni, withdrew funds and was on her way to meet someone when the accident happened. The bus driver who found her; has he been questioned again, recently?
