You are an absolute hard-charger in the water, and while dry appear to maintain a solid, strong, humble, respectful, gracious vibe with a titanium backbone. You are the type of guy I always want in my crew, no matter what the challenge.
I hope boys and other young men and women are learning from your out of water behavior as well. I know I could mention many more names, but I believe it is the manner that Kelly Slater, John John Florence, and you carry yourselves as humans that is the true, mighty "Duke" sense of Watermen. that was a great one! the surfing, the interaction, all of it. i liked the discussion while driving, about how it feels to go into one of the big ones. And hat off to Jack for that sunrise shot around 11;30, masterful , as was the final sunset and the footage under the bridge. loved these lines=nathan "your brain says it's too much data. just wipe it". and koa "nate, how do you like my crop top?". :) Mavericks such a freaky wave.

Love the Videos, as always. I'm from the west coast of Canada (Squamish) and do not even surf here. Too cold for this guy and way too expensive. One weekend in Tofino cost as much as airfare to Costa Rica. That's where I winter now! You should come this way and surf Pavones. The longest left point in the Country. Pura Vida Koa and Happy Holidays!
Best part of the week
Koa you should have headed south to Mexico for these last run of swells, absolutely firing and clean. Todos and Salsipuedes were pumping. We tow our boat down there. I surfed Salsipuedes but watched guys charge huge Todos. Too big for me, if i have to ride a board bigger than 8'4" i shouldnt be out there, hah. After a surf we go fish for huge red rockfish and an occasional yellowtail if the water is clean. Bring home fish taco meat and good memories back across the border to sd. Aloha, you guys charge

I live in San Francisco about 25 minutes from Mavericks. The water here is a cold AF plus there are Great White sharks. Mavericks can be dangerous and it's a very heavy wave. Be careful surfing there. RIP Mark Foo

Can you show people to the different ways to pop up on a surfboard please? I'm a beginner Surfer aggressively trying to move from soft-top to longboard and eventually down the fun shapes and hopefully one day not too far in the future shortboards but I know the pop-up is very different when doing it on shortboards. I have watch UA-cam videos on the chicken wing method and jumping from the thighs which is very hard and planting toes into the pad and stepping forward with the dominant and I just want to know what do most professional Surfers do and what do you like to do? For the pop-up. Thanks!!!!

By choice I wear a 4/3 all year around in BC Canada even in winter. It's actually not bad in the water. Getting in and out of the suit in winter is another story :).
Been lucky in Santa Cruz I haven’t dealt with the cold yet. 4/3 is good dawn patrol but 3/2 works better middle of the day and evening sessions. Good to know I don’t have to spend another 500 bucks on wetsuits to surf further north
