lol, I tried peeling and grinding my own pistachios once but i only have a blender so I could not get them really fine. As a result the macarons were bumpy. If you watch the vid coming out this weekend you can use the pistachio filing in it for a macaron filling.
Hi Hanora, have you watched the faq video? If so and still not working get an oven thermometer and check the temp, or get an oven tray that is hollow inside to allow even heat circulation, both of those things can help with a dodgy oven.

I have also recently heard of a baker using stale bread ground finely to replace almond flour and they looked OK, not smooth on top a bit bumpy. I am yet to try that recipe.
Hi veen vin, were they thick before you added the colour? If not is it possible you could of had some yolk in the whites, that makes them not thick. Adding colour should not make them runny, you only want to add a tiny bit... less than 1/4 tsp.
i made them right now (there are still some in the oven), but when they come out i put them toghether very quick and eat them. i can´t resist! :) the surface cracked a bit, but in general they are sooo good! i cheatet a little bit, by using some storebought caramel, but they are AMAZING! thank you so much, ann!
Hi Doreen, that would depend on the sauce, I did try a commercial one the other day and the caramel flavour was not intense enough so it tasted buttery. You would need to experiment with the one that you have.
Hi Arieqt0323, if you divide all of the recipe quantities by four you will only need one egg white. It will make approx 5 completed cookie or ten shells depending on the size you pipe them.

Hi RolaM21, If you watch the FAQ video there is pictures there of under-mixed through to over-mixed, the under-mixed ones do not have feet. If you are sure that it is not under-mixed then try making without colouring and see if that is the problem.

Ann, when making your macarons, do you allow them to "dry" on the counter(or bench as you call it:)) before baking them? Several recipes I've read said to do this but I've never heard you say to do it with your recipes. I love you and your channel SO much! You are very talented and truely an inspiration to me😇

Can I add about 1 teaspoon of instant espresso powder when making the macaroon shells to give them some colour and more flavor, seeing as I only have liquid food coloring? Would that drastically alter the taste of the shells? Thanks for this vid!
