I’m just surprised that there are people 25+ that haven’t tried different cultural food, especially if you live in a multicultural city like London, New York, Sydney etc… I’m from Melbourne and literally every person that I know 25+ has tried a variety of different foods from different culture.

Yes! My husband was a picky eater because he didn’t grow up eating good food. When he started eating my mom’s cooking, he gained weight and ate everything she made without question
I truly appreciate this channel for introducing a lot of Korean food, language and culture to people all over the world. PROUD 👏
I remember when Ben first tried Korean foods and said that he was a fussy eater, seeing him trying and combining the foods now makes me so happy :)
Actually, it makes sense that he didn't like the fishcake in soup but liked it in the sauce. The soup broth is a lot more subtle than the tteokboki sauce, so the taste of the fishcake itself comes through a lot more. The sauce covers that fishiness up and makes it more palatable for those who don't care for fish.
For me, give me the fish cake all day! 🤣 it's just the flavor I'm looking for! (And it goes so well with tteokbokki sauce...)

Just came back from Korea today. I would say I appreciate the place more compared to my first visit 15 years ago. The coffee culture and pastries are really next level and they make good coffee.
So great that you just got to go! They have definitely been upping their bakery and cafe game over the last 10 years... it's impressive! One of the many many reasons to visit 🙂
We went in July and honestly it was one of our highlights of the trip! We stayed in Seomyeon when we were in Busan and were 30 seconds walk from the coffee district.
For anyone who sees this, if you're ever in Dongdaemun, Seoul - check out Bread One. It's a really great little bakery cafe. Our hotel wasn't serving breakfast still due to COVID, so we went there most mornings and had delicious drinks and the best cinnamon danish I've ever had.
I hope it was a good experience in Korea🙂

우리나라 음식이 다양할 수 있었던 게 사계절의 뚜렷함이 있어서 자연히 그렇게 발전하게 됐다고 생각하고 있는데요..
사실 같은 한국 음식이어도 각 계절마다 어울리는 계절음식이 있잖아요ㅎ
더운 여름에 시워언한 냉면이라던지, 아니면 추운 겨울에 뜨끄은한 어묵국물이라던지..ㅎ
그래서 전 개인적으로 외국인분들에게 음식 소개 할 때.. 날씨나 계절 같은 환경과 콜라보가 되는 걸 진짜 좋아하는데..

'어묵'이라는 한국어를 그대로 사용해주신 게 너무 좋네요. 피쉬케잌이라고 말하면 듣는 입장에서 거부감부터 생길 수 있고, 먹기전에 선입견부터 발생할 수가 있다고 생각하거든요. 우리 같아도 생선케잌이라고 하면 누가 먹고 싶겠어요. 옳바른 단어의 선택, 정말 마음에 듭니다.
앞으론 쭉 한국 음식은 한국어로 설명해주시길 부탁드려요. 만두, 고추냉이, 김밥 등등

In the UK fishcake is actually a common type of food. It's very different to 어묵, I think it's like fish mixed with herbs n potato or flour n fried.
I think saying 어묵 is a good idea but to those in the UK the word fishcake isn't really strange (or disgusting) cos we use that word already.
I never thought of it as 🐟+🎂....which is definitely a scary thought.
