English Footballers try Korean Beef BBQ for the first time!!

- Today we took our newly built Korean BBQ table, with our special charcoal grill, and brought it to an English football team to taste the wonders of some of the best Korean BBQ possible right after their training.
This was a real collision of worlds for us, and it was such a joy seeing how much the guys loved the food, even though it was so different to anything they had tried before!

I HONESTLY feel that the KoreanEnglishMen team NEEDS to get like a recognition award by the Korean Embassy in the UK for all the work they've been doing in England to spread Korean culture. Like this is GENUINE passion and love for a culture that is not your own and wanting to spread that culture because you genuinely love it

As a half korean I’ve been to korea to see my family and every time I go back home to france I miss korean bbq the most because you just cannot find this kind of meat in France and it will most likely be pricey because of exportation and the quality of the meat . I love your videos and I’m happy your showing Korea’s delicious food to the world :) !!
Same. But I have adapted my BBQ by looking for types of meat that are special here in Europe: for example the Black Iberian Pig. The Presa cut is heavily marbled and perfect for Korean BBQ. It's juicy and is void of the typical piggy smell.
If I want to switch it up a bit, I sometimes buy Wagyu from a local restaurant specializing in premium beef.

Need more of this! Really awesome to see cultures mix and be accepted by each other through something as simple as a quality meal. Gives me hope in these trying times! Props to the men for their willingness and enthusiasm, nice to see the players show their genuine side.

Same here and I’m not even Korean. I honestly didn’t like kimchi when I first tasted it but because there’s still many left I just can’t waste it so after a couple of days I give it another chance and I’m surprised that I kinda liked it and from that day I’m always craving kimchi. I think it just takes time to like it 🤷♀️

I'm Romanian, grew up in Canada. Love kimchi. lol (Eastern Europe uses pickled cabbage to make pork cabbage rolls, so kimchi isnt really that foreign tasting, its just spicy)

If you ever find yourself in little old New Zealand one day, I’ll try and return the favour 😅 I’ve developed such a huge fascination and appreciation for South Korea so much this year, especially during quarantine. Beforehand, my knowledge of Korea was limited to just my practice in Taekwondo (so I know how to count in Korean). Your culture, history and strong sense of identity is truly awe inspiring and just through my recent discovery of KoreanEnglishmen has my interest in Korea grown exponentially. Also I recently tried proper Korean BBQ for the first time yesterday, and I can say, hand on heart, that the men’s reactions to the food in this video is absolutely accurate.

They kept on using chopsticks...I know that it isn't so easy to use them for people who have never used them and they could have asked for forks. I can see that they have respect for the chopstick culture!

I took my 50 year old neighbor and his wife, 45, to a Korean BBQ restaurant for the first time this March. When the bulgogi and the thin brisket came, they were both so happy and excited. For Mother’s Day this year, they went to the same restaurant with their kids and their kids also loved it. It’s so fun to introduce people to good food and culture sometimes. Hit or miss, at least they experienced it. 😂
The night we graduated our program all went to a Korean bbq and spend 6 hours eating, drinking soju and talking about plans for the future. 15 years ago and still stands as the best night of my life

What Josh and Oliie has done to make Korean food and culture to be so highly lauded and wanted especially in the West, cannot be denied. If anyone dares to look down on their work and dismiss them just because of some mistakes done in the past which were never intended to be malicious, those haters need to feel ashamed. I'm so glad Ollie and Josh are respectable and excellent men who pushed through, amidst the harsh, undeserved criticisms on them and even the people that they loved. Their recent humble but stronger comeback has proven that this YT platform they've made their home was truly made for such excellent creators as they are. 솔직히 국뽕 먹방 뭐 외국인한테 우리한테나 맛있는 것들 맥이고 마시써요 뭐 이런 반응 유도하는 거야 뻔해서 별 감동도 뭣도 없는데
영국남자는 진짜 한식 중에 글로벌하게 먹힐 것들을 초이스해서 먹이니 반응이 진정성 있을 수밖에 없음
진짜 다른 소개 영상은 뭔가 엉성하거나 맛있는 조합 같은 것들이 아쉬운 면이 있고 그것들부터 걱정하게 되는데 영국남자 채널은 그런 걱정이 없음

Bought some lychee soju for New Year's Eve after having watched your channel for years, and am having it with jeon......holy hell does the soju go down way too easy. I am not sure how much I have drank of it 😂 Freaking delicious, though, all of it is. So glad I decided to dive into Korean food for New Year's, and can't wait to share this with friends and family! I usually eat Japanese food on holidays since I lived there for a bit as a child, but wanted to explore something new this year, and I'm in love 🥰

My absolute favorite parts of the video were the actual squeals of joy coming from the football manager (the one who was reminded of his ex seeing the BBQ). You could _feel_ his excitement at the cooking and eating of the meat, I couldn't stop smiling!

전 여기 미국에서 가끔 현지 친구들과 삼겹살, 소주 파티를 합니다. 처음엔 쌈을 싸서 먹는것에 약간 거부감을 일으켰지만 지금은 혹시라도 제가 김치를 안구워주면 난리가 납니다. 여긴 소주가 한병에 7불 정도로 비싸지만 본인들이 알아서 사옵니다. 얼마전에는 소맥을 타줬더니 아주 난리가 나더군요. 물론 코로나 이전에요. 지금은 자기 가족들과 알아서 해먹습니다. 단지 막걸리 구하기가 힘들고 비싸다고 투덜대죠.

@@delta8087 they do have Kbbq resturants in the UK. not the exact real deal, but damn close id assume. cant say for sure cuz im not from the UK, but judging from what we got in the States, itll be pretty similar except for the pricing.
@@yanguskhan8513 nope, not even close! K-BBQ in the UK is not a patch on the real thing in Korea - in Korea, you can get the better cuts of meat for much cheaper and it's just better overall

This is making me so hungry! I wish more of this type of eating experience was prevalent in the US. Being able to sit around a table and talk to people and cook healthy food. I think it's great that you are sharing things like this with people who may not ever have

@@aduraedosa I agree, but we are in a small farming town in the US and it's not prevalent here. I grew up in a military family and miss the experiences of trying new foods and cultures. I have looked recently and about 2 hours away there is an Asian market,so I am making plans 😁

건배 행위 자체는 외국에서 들어온 걸로 보여지나 '건배'라는 구호는 한자이기 때문에 중국은 깐뻬이, 한국에서는 건배, 일본은 간빠이라고 한자권 나라에서 같은 구호를 쓰고 있습니다. 일본에서 유래된 걸로 볼 수 없을 것 같아요~
