      Not sure what state you're from, but 2nd degree murder in Florida, ESPECIALLY in a case like this, typically gets a lot more than 25 years these days. She'll probably get life (which doesn't EVER have parole eligibility in FLA).

      My question is why did her boyfriend willfully allow her to zip him up in a suitcase? Maybe she believed there was air inside thru the zipper and that he fell asleep. He wasn’t screaming and yelling to emphasize he was scared. Had he been panicked and yelling in hysteria that would have been a trigger he was in danger. He didn’t fight for his life much.

    sarahs letters never mention that she flatly refused to attend court for her first year and she never mentions that a dv specialist met with her for 10+ hours in dec 2023.     These lawyers are basically trying to tell her she is screwed because of the recording she took of herself watching her boyfriend beg for his life and i doubt any defence lawyer inthe land can sufficiently defend that as one look at that footage any jury will immediately decide a guilty verdict so she will have to represent themselves

I honestly cant blame the attorneys for withdrawing, this woman is clearly delusional and really believes she did no harm. The first judge in the beginning said that he didnt think finding new attorneys for her would take forever and now here we are.....how many more does she have to go through before they just ask her to defend herself?

    It’s heartbreaking to hear her say that his family didn’t want him with her. Imagine being so worried about your child bc they’re in a toxic relationship and even saying you know they’re going to get killed if they don’t leave….and then it happens. I can’t imagine the devastation. My heart goes out to the Torres family.

      But based solely on what I’ve seen - which certainly isn’t all of the evidence, I admit - she was an aggressive and horrible drunk. This was opportunistic. I don’t think she intended to kill him. And it wasn’t self-defense.

    honestly i think the second degree charge seems appropriate for this case bc i think she seems too dumb to realize that someone’s constricted airways being folded up like that can kill them. she probably thought he’d just suffer for a few hours, although i could be wrong and maybe she was trying to kill him

    She is where she needs to be she is a murderer and just seeing the video of him inside the luggage is crazy and how can anyone especially a mom let that happen under her watch is unbelievable to me. She should of just kicked him out of the apartment and broke up with him. But now she lost her freedom from her son and most importantly he lost his life clearly at her fault.

    One or two lawyers you could argue that it’s not her fault, but 7 lawyers resigning from the case…at some point it IS her fault. And say some point the trial must go on. She doesn’t want to represent herself, but she wants to control everything. Can’t have it both ways.

    Why is it Judge Wooten’s fault? It’s her that’s causing the delays. I bet that she’s demanding the impossible to her attorneys. It’s probably something like “Go get these charges dismissed! It wasn’t intentional, therefore there should be no charges!”. Her attorneys are probably telling her that they can’t because that’s not how this works. It’s way past the prelim part. It’s either plead or trial. She’s probably better off taking the offer and she doesn’t want to hear that.

    I absolutely love and respect this judge. She was given such a high profile case, so many victims, attorneys, parents. It was a lot. I could never deal with that kind of stress. Ever.

    The Parkland Judge is no longer a judge and shouldn't be addressed as one. She left her bench in disgrace and isn't a great source for commentary. She was disciplined and has proven to be too emotional and depends too much on her "gut" rather than the law.

    It's ridiculous, the current judge has to tell Boone, "This is your last lawyer, or you represent yourself." She's not going to go through 100 lawyers. All of this is costing taxpayer money. Having 8 lawyers already is outrageous. The judge has to have a spine.

    If that's the judge who I think it is, she seems pretty fair. Although I will say that I don't think a judge should give commentary on another active case or trial. It does not come off as professional. And at the very least, it can taint how others will view you when you're on the bench, for better or worse.

    Lost some respect for the host of the morning Court TV show. Why would this former judge be on when she was reprimanded by the Supreme Court and stepped down? The host should have given all the info on this former judge and not just the fluff. Surely, she could have on a better guest.

    This isn’t even her just being crazy anymore. Like the judge said, it’s poor case management. She’s been allowed to switch attorneys 30 times, leading her to believe she’s in control. And apparently she.
    But the vic calling out to Sarah from the suitcase is some of the most haunting evidence I’ve ever seen.

    Judge Wooten warned sarah that she would have to hire and pay for her own atty if hobson quit. he quit but the new judge gave her one more , undeserved, chance to work with a court appointed atty. Atty Cashman is a gift to sarah that she will also call a buffoon and accuse of selling her videos to youtube.
