      This snack especially brings back many happy memories for me.
      Years back when I visited my Anglo Indian colleague and friend, at her Podanur residence, her Goan mother lavished so much love on me, treating me to the finest of Goan cuisine.
      These melt in the mouth potato chops, along with Sorpotel , DholDhol and many other dishes whose names I sadly forget, were served to me for that memorable lunch.
      I will never forget the delicious food or the warmth and courtesy extended to me that afternoon by Mrs. Lethbridge and her family . God bless her and all the Goan community.
      BTW is Goan vinegar available online?
      Thank you once again.

      Sarah thanks for sharing your wonderful feedback and memories associated with this recipe. Food does connect us with our past experiences and you tend to remember these memories so explicitly. Most of the dishes you mentioned so vividly are some of the popular dishes in Goan Cuisine. We do have recipes on our channel for most of the dishes you mentioned. Do try them out and relive your wonderful memories 🙂 Yes, Goan Vinegar is available online but it's not the same as the organic one you get in local Goan Markets. Thanks once again for sharing your thoughts with us! Have a great day 🌞

    Wow! another amazing recipe of our goan potato chops.
    I always used to coat the potato chops with egg and then semolina + breadcrumbs before frying
    Must try your way - as my potato chops used to break while frying

    • @GetCookingNow
      @GetCookingNow  5 місяців тому

      Steph, the potato chops are dipped in egg to quote the Chops to basically bind it together while deep frying. It's not really necessary if you're shallow frying. 🙂

    Beautiful mouthwatering recipe. What does the butter do for the potatoes?

    • @GetCookingNow
      @GetCookingNow  Місяць тому

      Deda, Adding butter to the potato paste while making Potato Chops is essential as it enhances the flavor with its rich, creamy taste, improves the texture by making the paste smoother and more cohesive, retains moisture to prevent the mixture from becoming dry and crumbly, and acts as a binding agent due to its fat content, which helps hold the mixture together for easier shaping and frying 🙂
