You can use a small heavy duty bin bag for the oil filter. Soon as you release it with the spaner put the bin over the filter then turn the filter with hand the oil will fall/drip inside the bag
Hi, i use a 2 foot length of round gutter pipe leading to a container, it fits neatly up against the engine under the filter housingwith a little bit of rag and then it just flows away to the container i have set up at the other end.
Really appreciate that. What year is your insignia? Im guessing its the same job on all of them.. How long after getting code 82 can you drive before it breaks down?
I dunno if they are all the same this one is 2009 2.0 CDTI diesel. I never let it to get to this point I change oil every 6k miles but it is probably just me overdoing it.
If you look for affordable quality, go with Valvoline or Total. If you look for top quality, try Revenol, Motul, Liqui Moly or Millers Oils, oh and a secret tip - Petro Canada. Look for correct viscosity, ACEA C3 grade (because of DPF) and dexos 2 Opel OEM norm.
hey, thanks for uploading this, can i ask, would this be possible with the standard jack that comes with the car? and how much oil does it take to fill it up once emptied?
Just to add, always use axle stands. Never trust just the jack, and also put the wheel under there as extra insurance just incase it does tip off the stands.

Nice Video pal cheers
Thanks mate :)
Why lossen ur wheel nuts? Forgive me if i missed something.
So you can remove the wheel because behind the arch is the location of oil filter. Wouldn't recommend undoing fully tighten nuts when car is lifted.
What ia the engine oil used?

I am always putting same amount back, run the car for a while and then I am checking on dip stick if it need a top up.

How much liters of oil goes when refeeling
I've put 4.2l, but it really depends. Best is to check it with oil stick. Or add same amount you drained.
Should be 4.5 litres , it willlook overfull on the dipstick , bit is correct
vauxhall/opel put filter in a nasty place in this and the previous model vectra
You don’t need to take of the wheel u Wally
