@@TajMotorMedics Hi Taj, thanks for the video! I've got to change one of these asap but only have access to a wrench rather than a full ratchet, do you think that'll work just the same? Also am I getting you right at the start, I need to unscrew the smaller part first to drain the remaining fuel in the filter? :)
@@grimhasty3597 hi you’re welcome! You can use a wrench but you gotta be very careful as you don’t wanna damage the plastic housing and also you don’t have to take the smaller part out first it’s just if you do then there is less chance of you getting messy 😁

Thanks for the explanation Taj. Just a quick question from me. I added petrol £20 to my diesel Mokka, was on reserve when added. Though hasn't been started, only recovered to my drive way. Bills from AA and local garage was too high. I watched online videos how to drain the fuel, but can't locate where to get the fuel tank opened, as I feel it is under the back seat. Your advice will be valuable please. Thank you
Hi thank you 😊 it’s usually under passenger rear seat but if I was you I would use a pipe feed it through where you fill from and then suck it out with a suction tool.. How liters or how much of fuel/diesel is in that filter and will come down with a filter ?? Or do I need to do it only if I have an empty tank ? Thanks a lot
Hi only what’s in the filter so not much and you can change the fuel filter, whether the tank is full or empty but remember to have the keys out of the ignition. Thank you 🙏
Hi you don’t need to disconnect the battery just make sure the ignition isn’t ON.. and with the fuel pipe you don’t need to remove it unless it’s very tight then you might have to. If you are doing this on the road side please do take extra care. Thanks 🙏
how do you reset the fuel filter light when its on because my car says its wather in filter in the dash , so i changed it but cant reset it , and its not the oli service thats do i know to reset it
Hi Taj, I have just tried to change mine when I unscrewd the filter cover the filter stayed put inside the housing, I couldnt pull it down with my fingers, I didnt want to pry it in case of damaging the threads, any ideas how to get it off please
Taj I went and tried again, this time the filter came out with the housing, I’m guessing it wasn’t fully clipped in and by retightening it it clipped back in. I changed both seals and re primed the filter all done with no leaks and nothing showing on dash, guess I was too frightened of it but your expert advice inspired me and I thank you very much for that it is very much appreciated.
Alright mate I’ve followed your instructions step by step and turned the ignition on and off about 4 times leaving the car on for around 10 seconds each time then tried starting without pressing the accelerator however can’t get it to fire up anything you can advise?
Sorry to hear you having problem starting your car! If you’ve replaced the fuel and did all of the above and not starting so you only have one option spray some easy start into the air filter pipe and start the car but don’t over do it as it could be dangerous for the engine. Two people needed for doing this.
My Insignia s engine died and I have over 30l of diesel on it. 09 plates. How can I drain the fuel out because I want to sell it to car converter and they don’t pay for the fuel in the tank.

Thanks for saying the tool sizes👍 bang on
Hey bro would this procedure be the same on a 65 plate insignia estate
Hi I guess it is up until 2019 so check if the location of the fuel filter is under car behind driver seat.
@@TajMotorMedics cheers Bro I'll make sure to check
I can't get the bottom off. Looks like I need to grip it as the casing just spins.
Any tips ?

Hi Steve, the paper filter may just be stuck so gently pull it out with a bendy nose plier or something. It should come out. Thanks 🙏
@@TajMotorMedics Thank you for that very quick reply, I was worried about the filter tearing and leaving the top half in
Just look at the new one and see what’s stopping it and wiggle wiggle and it will come out. Hope you get it done. Thank you have a lovely weekend 😊🙏

Hi, I'm going to be doing my 63 plate insignia filters soon, do I need to remove my under trays to get to the fuel filter?
Nope you don’t have to remove the under tray for fuel but for oil you might have to.
@@TajMotorMedics thanks mate I'll have a look, couldn't see anything before as there's under trays. I have the ecoflex version
Where is your location please?
Hi I've managed to bleed it and got the main cap off but the filter is still stuck in the canister any advice on getting this out please?
Hi you will need to use a plier to pull the filter out and do it carefully because some fuel will still be in the filter. Thanks
