For real, my mom downplayed what I told her happened to me. I hated it so bad that I bottled it up for years and tried to forget it. Once I became an adult I realized I never forgot and was actually very scared to be around older men. My ex boyfriend’s mom was the one who took the time to listen to me and I slowly started getting better.

I was sa'ed while I was in a relationship, I told my partner 2 weeks later about what happened because I had been flinching at their touches, I felt bad so they were the first person I told... but instead of supporting or consoling me, they said that I cheated on them and that me saying I was sa'ed was an excuse because I felt guilty about "cheating" on them.

The thing about false SA allegations is they are super rare. A man is more likely to be SAd himself than be falsely accused. And unfortunately victim blaming is not a Korean problem, it's rampant in most countries. These past few months there have been a couple very public celebrity SA cases here in Finland and the coddling these celebrities receive vs the intense victim blaming is sickening to witness. It's a cruel world for victims of SA, and for girls and women in general.

SK has made some progress from an outsider's perspective but I am not sure how much is actual progress and how much is just perceived progress. SK is still much more conservative than say the US.
