  • The dealership tried to rob me out of $1400 so I fixed the pulley and belt myself for way way cheaper and with all OEM parts. **DIY belt replacement** #camaro #zl1 #zl11le #titan #forgedforall #camarozl1 #camaro1le ‪@Chevrolet‬

    GM certified technician.....!!!! You are...HaHa..glad you fixed yourself,,,
    I have all of that in my hauler. Pulley, belt and bypass hoses and Anti freeze. just in case... Are you liking the Titan 7 wheels still??? Keep your fingers the hell out of there....

      Haha. Yeah I’m going to need to start bringing spares I guess. Wasn’t even on my radar that the pulley would come apart like that.
      Love the Titan wheels. They performed and looked so good all weekend.
      Gotta love on the dangerous side hahahaha

    Just hit 5k miles on my ZL1 now I’m worried 😅

      I wouldn’t worry. I think mine was just a weird freak thing. I’ve talked to a lot of people and shops and they haven’t ever seen it happen the way it did.

    Great video Brock! Hi 5 from a fellow ZLE owner. If you don’t mind / can you share all the part numbers for the items you had to replace in the video? Much appreciate it man!

      Hello and thanks for watching. They should all be in the video. Unfortunately I don’t have that info handy anymore

      @@BROCKgoFAST Thanks. Have you considered getting the Schroth Quick Fit Pro (E90 BMW) harness belts? This way you can still keep your backseats in tact while being able to use a harness for occasional track days. Lots of Camaro guys running them. Would love to see a video if you ever install it.

    Good video. How many miles (street and track) were on the original pulley? I have a 2020 ZL1 1LE with 5k miles and just over 3,500 track miles.

    • @BROCKgoFAST
      @BROCKgoFAST  Рік тому

      Thank you! 4000 miles on the car and about 300-350 track miles

      @billapex Рік тому +1

      Oh, wow. I wouldn't think the idler pulley would seize with that mileage. I do keep an extra belt with me at the track, but maybe I should have a spare idler pulley, too.

      @BROCKgoFAST  Рік тому

      @@billapex me neither. It was amazing that it just broke and blew apart also taking the metal with it. Very frustrating

    Jesus, plz do not touch pulleys like that again! There will be a real torque spec for that idler pulley. Find that and re-torque.

    Great video Brock! Can't wait for you to hammer the ZL1/1LE around the track again. Great job saving $1400!!!

    Good video :D My daily driver (2000 Ford Explorer 5.0 AWD) just ate it's serpentine belt and an entire rib of the belt got sucked into and around the harmonic balancer/crank pulley and damaged it, lol. Good times :D Almost as fun as this!

    Don't waste people time, they have the right to make money. Diagnose ur car urself and stop bringing ur car in for diagnostics if ur gonna whine when u see a repair bill.

    • @BROCKgoFAST
      @BROCKgoFAST  Рік тому

      I did diagnose the car myself and told the tech when he came out as well as the service manager.
      I told them what needed to be repaired and was told it should be covered under warranty on the phone and in person.
      My next call was from the manager with a crazy estimate of a repair bill and when i questioned it, he asked me what i would pay (red flag). For instance if you watched the video they wanted $133 for a $12 breather tube and an hour of labor. That is not right, I don't care who they are. I have grown up around dealers and some will try and rob you blind and others are honest.
      Didnt waste anyones time except myself

      @@BROCKgoFAST did you pay for any diagnostic work?

    • @BROCKgoFAST
      @BROCKgoFAST  Рік тому

      @@ryandass15 nope. Talked to dealer on phone, they said bring it in. Showed master tech and Manager. They said it should be warrantied and then told me no warranty and it’s $1400 to fix. When I picked up the car a week later it hadn’t been moved or touched so the dealer was going for a money grab

    • @ryandass15
      @ryandass15 Рік тому

      @@BROCKgoFAST so u brought it in, the tech will have most likely diagnosed it cuz he's definitely not going to listen to a customer diagnosis, and then checked warranty which was declined (why?), then quoted u a repair bill, With what needed to be replaced. And u didn't pay for any of the time the tech spent on ur car...

    • @BROCKgoFAST
      @BROCKgoFAST  Рік тому

      @@ryandass15 that’s what I’m trying to tell you. The tech looked at it with me and the manager. He said I was spot on with what was wrong and then they never touched the car. The manager just tried to stick me with a crazy bill to get it fixed. Claimed that GM said because it’s not in the motor and on the motor it wouldn’t be covered. The dealer probably thought I would just pay whatever to have it fixed
