The fossil looks stunning , super job, the music choice was spot on , it also calmed my new bulldog down and he relaxed , do more of these vids , love your plants too , much love, peace 💀🌴😎
you are simply exceptional and very good at what you do, it is your passion my father always tells me, "Where is your passion is your heart and when you do something from the heart, nothing can go wrong". Send love from Mexico Emma ❤️🤗☺️
Gosh Emma, you work fast!!! ;-) In all seriousness, that ammonite looks fabulous after the prep! You certainly have an eye for detail and the patience required to clean up one of those bad boys. I'm currently in New Mexico completing some field work for a project that should have been done months ago..... until covid came along. Btw, I sent you another email a while back so please check whatever box the last one ended up in. ;-)
Super fossil video. Especially with the low sunshine highlighting the contours. Lost count of how many days it took you, from the shadows getting longer. If you set up indoors with a strong spotlight low on the right and a large, diffuse light somewhere up and left of the camera, then your fossil prep video lighting will look as good as these, plus you'd be able to see details emerging as you work. Yay, dino-hoodie cameo appearance!
Great job on the prep! How do you like your Dremel for removing matrix? Also, what are your plans after finishing your Masters degree? I hope you use your talents in paleontology.
Thank you! The Dremel is amazing so far 😍 I really recommend it! After my masters I'd love to work in geology conservation - or science communication 😁 but nothing set in stone yet 😉🦕 (.. or a PhD 👀)
i own a Dremel that i use for woodworking. I'm wondering what cutter/tip you're using. Is it a burr? Also, are the orange/rust regions because it has become Pyritized?
Is the Dremel a rotary tool or an engraver? The rotary ones spin like a drill. I think the engravers work like a mini jackhammer - thrusting back and forth really quickly.
Hey Carl! I'm really sorry, I get alot of messages on Instagram so its quite hard to keep up with them all! You can email me instead at emgemssyt@gmail.com ☺️
Ear protection might be a good idea too. Lovely fossil, you're very lucky to have this on your doorstep!!!

That looks like a very relaxing activity, perfect for catching up on audiobooks or podcasts while doing it.
Nice Job! Thanks for posting the process.

That's a magnificent emmanite! I would leave it like it is, looks perfect.
Emmanite 😂😍
Why a fabulous fossil 😃. Well worth all the time and effort you put in to prepping and coating it 👍. Not to mention lugging it all the way home😉.
Aww, the mug. :):):)

Nice job, looks great. No more hammer and nail. Doing this keeps you off the streets at night looking for trouble.
This would be so much more satisfying to watch zoomed in. Fossils are dope

The number of times you nearly touched the super glue!!!!
Hahahaha 😂 I know 💀 luckily my nails were actually quite good at getting it to stick where I wanted it 🤪
cool
You need to use an air eraser for the really small details.Other than that Your are doing it great!

The nibs are special ones for using on rocks from paleozoictech - they work brilliantly 😍 yes I believe so 🦕

This dremel is an engraver :)
From somerset ?
Hello, I would like to buy a dremel for fossil preparation, do you think it is good for this?
Yes definitely! It takes patience but works perfectly.
I'm glad I never got into palaeontology, I wouldn't have had the patience....
I messaged you a few times. On Instagram. I’m assuming your busy . Sent pictures of some of my finds.

See, if I'd just watched this video, I could have avoided leaving a patronising comment about mask wearing on your first Dremel video. My bad!
