Question: are you guys a light company only? I mostly see you guys wearing light infantry helmets in your videos. Here though you guys are wearing cocked hats. Do you portray the battalion companies as well? Also, Do you also mostly portray early war? Or do you also do mid to late war?
Hi Jason, thanks for the great question! Our Regiment has around 80 members, and we field three separate musket companies, along with a music company and a civilian corps. At any given event, you’ll see our Light Company, Battalion Company (in cocked hats), and Grenadier Company. The footage you’ve seen may vary because not all our members who usually film are present at every event, which can result in differences in what gets captured. While we primarily portray the early war, we’re currently making adjustments to improve accuracy for mid-war events. I hope that clears things up-thanks for watching!
Hi Wesley, thanks for watching and excellent questions! Its uncommon knowledge, but the Royal Marines did not get that moniker until the 19th century. Prior they were simply known as the British Marines! They participated in many major battles including Bunker Hill, Long Island, The Siege of Charleston, Battle of the Chesapeake/Virginia Capes and the battle of Yorktown. Hope this helps and that you enjoyed the video!
