His Majesty's Tenth Regiment of Foot in America is a historically re-created infantry unit formed to portray the service of the British Army during the American War for Independence.
Composed of three types of soldier, Grenadiers-typically larger men who are used as shock troops, a company of Light infantry, generally smaller, more agile men--capable of maneuvering in the dense wilderness to skirmish or flank the enemy, and a battalion company--a company of regular soldiers, capable of mass volleys and were the heart of the army and are trained in both Grenadier and Light Infantry tactics. We also have a company of Music, who provide music and commands to the army. Last but certainly not least, a Corps of Civilian Volunteers--who provide food to the regiment during encampments and accurately portray civilian and camp life of the 18th century. Each is open for recruitment. The members of the Tenth are accurately uniformed, equipped, and trained in 18th-century military drill and life so that we appear in public as members of the British Army would have in 1775. I immediately almost lost both of my shoes walking through that mud puddle at the beginning, lol
Seemed like a common problem ;) Quicksand on top of ambushes is quite the dilemma! Hope you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
The single greatest argument for having a foot strap under the gaiters!
@ChristheRedcoat
You did? Now that's reenacting.
#Mandatory_Sharpe_reference
heh saw the lot of you moving around that mud puddle like it was something else.
The American chaotic retreat from Afghanistan was more shameful.
It really was I don't understand how we lost the taliban even the army of afghanistan was in the side with the Coalition
If you were there, you’d know why. Waste of f****** time.
And the military wonders why recruitment and retention are down.
Yeah! And the chaotic efforts by Trump to boost his domestic popularity by bringing the American forces home just before the 2020 election set us up for the fiasco. President Biden’s choices for how to execute a withdrawal from Afghanistan were
severely constrained by conditions created by his predecessor. When President Trump
took office in 2017, there were more than 10,000 troops in Afghanistan. Eighteen
months later, President Trump ordered direct talks with the Taliban without consulting with
our allies and partners or allowing the Afghan government at the negotiating table. In
September 2019, President Trump emboldened the Taliban by publicly considering inviting them to Camp David on the anniversary of 9/11. In February 2020, the United States and the Taliban reached a deal, known as the Doha Agreement, under which the United
States agreed to withdraw all U.S. forces from Afghanistan by May 2021 (AFTER Trump was in office!). In return, the
Taliban agreed to participate in a peace process and refrain from attacking U.S. troops
and threatening Afghanistan’s major cities-but only as long as the United States
remained committed to withdraw by the agreement’s deadline. As part of the deal,
President Trump also pressured the Afghan government to release 5,000 Taliban
fighters from prison, including senior war commanders, WITHOUT securing the release of
the only American hostage known to be held by the Taliban.
Over his last 11 months in office, President Trump ordered a series of draw-downs of
U.S. troops. In November 2020, President Trump tweeted, to the surprise of military advisors, that the remaining U.S. troops in Afghanistan should be “home by Christmas!” One week later, after losing his effort to be reelected, President Trump
rescinded that order and replaced it with one to draw down to 2,500 troops by the same date.
During the transition from the Trump Administration to the Biden Administration, the outgoing Administration provided no plans for how to conduct the final withdrawal or to evacuate Americans and Afghan allies. Indeed, there were no such plans in place
when President Biden came into office, even with the agreed upon full withdrawal just
over three months away.
As a result, when President Biden took office on January 20, 2021, the Taliban were in
the strongest military position that they had been in since 2001, controlling or contesting
nearly half of the country. At the same time, the United States had only 2,500 troops on
the ground-the lowest number of troops in Afghanistan since 2001-and President
Biden was facing President Trump’s near-term deadline to withdraw all U.S. forces from
Afghanistan by May 2021, or the Taliban would resume its attacks on U.S. and allied
troops. Secretary of Defense Austin testified on September 28, 2021, “the intelligence
was clear that if we did not leave in accordance with that agreement, the Taliban would
recommence attacks on our forces.”
AHH! HEH?!? - British Soldier 1775
One of the best undiscovered quotes of the time. To be elaborated on in the next MRG release ;). Hope you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
You should do against the French. The Historic Colonial Rival of Great Britain
Rule Britannia
One of my ancestors was in the relief force from Boston. He said it was like getting hit by mosquitos, but with guns.
That is an amazing quote! Would you be able to share more details on him and his experience? Hope you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
I am a 14 year old boy and even here in Italy we do re-enactments of the Italian Risorgimento. There is the French, Savoy and Austrian army. As news for 2024, we have included cannons and explosive rockets in the armies. It's a lot of fun for those who do it and exciting and interesting for those who experience it
One of my distant cousins was among the Concord Militiamen that ambushed the Brits. He helped to chase them all the way back to Boston, and Mustered into the Continental Army. He eventually Mustered out of service in 1780 at the rank of Colonel after serving under Washington at Valley Forge.
nice
Thank you for this video great job keeping history alive 👍❤️🇬🇧🇺🇲
Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
That took some work and dedication! Thank you!
We appreciate the comment! Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
i like this reenactment
Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
Thank you for the action video that brings me back to my many years as a Grenadier in HM Tenth Regiment of Foote. One small detail I find amusing is hearing the NCO's & officers scolding their men to assume ordered formations by addressing them as "Gentlemen, gentlemen...." when nothing of the sort could ever had occurred in 1775. Being referred to in public as a "gentleman" was a much sought after goal of many aspiring men, but rarely granted. A gentleman had attained a status otherwise denied the mass of humanity. As for infantrymen in ranks, the names they were most likely called by their superior officers were likely unprintable here.
Brilliant thanks for sharing with us 👍
Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
Good stuff guys,I have re-enacted the war for American independence and also the American Indian wars over here in Northern Ireland at the Ulster American folk park back in the day.But mostly we re-enacted the American civil war.Haven’t had a re-enactment uniform on me In about 23 years. But it was good to see that re-enactments are still very much alive.Keep up the good work😄👍👍
The soldier in the thumbnail is really selling it. Looks like it could be from a movie.
You earned a sub!

@@HM10thFoot No problem!
soon ill be joining a reenactment group, at first i wanted to try the american, but now i think i might be taking the dark side
Hi Zack! Where are you located? What Regiment were you thinking of joining?
Well, from my point of view the Americans are the Darkside
@@Alfie-ft3bx Then you are lost!
they should do roman reenactments like this.
Americans are strong with the Spanish empire and the French
what do you use to capture the footage and where on your uniform do you put it
We mainly use the Mobius Maxi 4k which we mount on our soldiers' headgear. In a few videos we have used GoPros as well! Hope this helps and that you enjoyed. Thanks for watching!
Very cool video
Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching as always Jacob!
@@HM10thFoot your welcome
How can this be a retreat when it was the planned route from the beginning?
Hi Paul, great question! This comes down to the definition of “Retreat” which in Merriam Webster is defined as “: an act or process of withdrawing especially from what is difficult, dangerous, or disagreeable.” Due to the actions at the North Bridge and subsequent decision to withdraw, this could be considered a retreat due to the deteriorating situation in and around Concord. Hope you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
can black people join these reenactments? because im black and i wanna join these one day
I suppose the american side or some other wars... they didnt accept black people during thevperiod but thats just maybe
@@Thatoneguybp Absolutely wrong. Plenty of black people served during the Revolution. In fact, statistically more African Americans served on the side of the British.
@@ChristheRedcoat ah i see then, thanks for the correction
While not technically historically accurate, most groups do not discriminate by race even if their historical counterparts didn't have black soldiers. I knew of quite a few who allow women in their ranks as soldiers, as well. If they do discriminate then you probably wouldn't want to be in that group anyways. Best thing to do would be to ask around, once you find a group you may be interested in.
There are also units made specifically to represent the black regiments in the war, if that's a part of history you'd like to represent. I don't know for sure if there are any for the Revolution, but I do know of one for the Civil War (don't remember its name though).
@@Thatoneguybp Both sides had black soldiers, mainly slaves of the other side promised freedom for joining, though many were free men fighting for king or for independence. They were mainly in segregated regiments, but I do know that there were mixed regiments as well.
Some very gallant officers there- or at least confident in the accuracy of the troops musketry.
Hezekiah Wyman would have enjoyed this.
Indeed. Hope you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
Hello
Hello! Hope you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
I give 0 stars for lack of trans, BIPOC, LGBTQRTSUVWXYZ representation. And General Thomas Gage was an African transman who identified as an Iroquois-Korean demiboy KPOP singer. How can history forget?
Nobody asked.
@@ChristheRedcoat It's sarcasm. Lighten up Francis.
