Very nice! Any way to get prints or plans? I have a 2021 Tri-Glide Ultra that would look great with this on back. Why didn't you paint it to match the colors of your bike? That would be so cool!
Dave, thanks for the comment. Well my friend I have no prints or plans. I start with an idea and it just evolved from day to day. I originally built it to take my dog with me. I’m retired and we are always together. Well he won’t ride in it. Then the pandemic hit so I decided to build out a Chevy express van. There’s videos of it here on UA-cam. If I was to build another I would cut some weight and lower it. Like with a dropped axle. Actually it just sits in my garage . The plan originally was to paint it to match my shovel but it never happened. It’s just In primer now. I haven’t advertised it but I’m thinking about selling it in the spring. Thanks again for your comment enjoy your new tri-Glide Ultra. Stay safe and healthy…. 👍
I made the frame from 1” square stalk. I filled it with sand and bent it to shape. Then I made a outer frame of flat stalk hinged the bottom end and put a 1/8” piece of Lexan in between the square tube and the outer piece of 2” flat stalk. Please like and subscribe. Lexan is bendable.
Hello Tim, thanks for the comment. Please subscribe. I used Lexan, not plexiglass. Lexan is very bendable. I sandwiched the Lexan between the outer 2” flat bar and the inner part is 1” square tube, thin wall. I filled the square tube with sand so I could heat and bend it. The trailer part of the window frame is 1” u channel. It works as a rain gutter. I also use some weather stripping. I hope that helps. Have a great day.
Hello, my friend, ask a question, I have a Fat boy, and I want to do a treil like that in the future, my question does not consume a lot of fuel pulling all that weight there, doesn't it?
Hello Buddy, it turned out a little heavier then I planned. 390lbs. It did use more gas but not crazy amount. But because of the weight it was a little bit of a nail bitter to pull. It was doable but you always had to plan ahead for stops and starts. It got sold to a guy with a trike. Perfect for a trike. I would like to build another in the fall but I’m planning on building it with styrofoam, covered with fiberglass. We.Very light and strong. There is a couple videos out there with a few guys built. We’ll I hope the helps answer your question. I’ll say it was fun to camp in and guys went crazy for it at bike nights. Have a great summer.✌️😎
Sorry Timothy I don’t have a set of plans to share. I kinda just get an idea and go with it. It just evolves as I go. Ty very much for your comment and also subscribing to my channel. Have a great weekend.
Thanks Rich, actually no leaks very water tight. I wish I showed better detail of how I did that. I built in a type of rain gutter and weather stripping similar to a car. Ty for watching.
Hello Lucas, the bike weighs about 850lbs and the trailer is 390 lbs. it would be nice if it was a little lighter. If I was to build another I would definitely cut some weight. Thanks for your comment. Dave
I totally agree. A little less weight would be great. When I was building it I was hoping for less than 400. I learn something with every project. Ty fir your comment.
Hello Don Pet, when building I was hoping for under 400 lbs. the lighter the better. Pulling anything with a bike is dangerous. I didn’t know what the final outcome would be. It weighs half of what my bike does. It took some getting used to. I won’t take it on any long trips for sure. I’m 67 so for me it was more a project than something I plan on getting a ton of use out of. I enjoy building. I would like to sell it hopefully to someone with a trike. It’s more suited for something like that.
@@busterstravels1534 thanks. That will sell fast. I live on the road on my heritage 1/2 the year. Iv always thought a Trailor sleeper of your design is what i need. For my 69 yr old body. But for me safety comes first. It’s OK I’m used to the tent. but what you built is sure a dream !
@@donpet8258 I know what your saying about the tent on the old bones. 👍 I love traveling with my dog, that’s kinda what inspired the tear drop. When the pandemic hit I bought and built a van to travel in. Maybe you saw it in my over videos. It’s been a lot of fun. I’m planning a trip out West in October. I live in the northeast. Enjoyed the chat good luck with your future travels.
I just watched the video again. If you look close the front view of the hatch open gives a pretty good view of the gutter minus the rubber seal. The rubber is on the underside of the pop. Up. Maybe you can take a screenshot.
@busterstravels1534 that's still not to bad. Maybe a bit heavy for a bike but definitely not for a car. I liked the build and I've been considering building one with sheetmetal just so I can do some cool custom touches that I can't do with wood. Or afford to do with aluminum.
Cost was why I went sheet metal. One problem was warpage. I spent a lot of time working on that. I love working with metal also. Doing it with some custom touches sounds great. It makes for a fun project. It was a head turner. People loved it. If you build one have fun with it. Any future questions or comments don’t hesitate. Have a great day. 👍
Hello Denver, the first time I pulled it it scared me. I wondered was it doable. Well I decided to take it to an industrial parking lot in my neighborhood and practiced pulling it. Taking off from a stop. Also practiced stopping with it and making various types of turns. It definitely takes some getting used too. The bike handled it but it felt much different. A bit scary. Every aspect was a learning experience. You really have to plan your stops and starts. Pulling something with two wheels is dangerous.
Thank you John for subscribing and liking my videos. I see from watching one of your videos that your a very talented man that loves detail. Have a great night and thanks again.👍
In pa to register it I needed official weight receipt it came in at 490lbs. Tongue weight I was hoping for around 75 lbs but ended up with 88. A little heavier then I wanted.
Ty, he loved it but wouldn’t ride in it. Ha! After all that work… so I built a van as seen in some of my other videos he loves traveling in that…. He’s my best friend….
NO NO NO NO NO NO!!! The RULE IS, 50# MAXIMUM of weight on the tongue, when tugging with a bike! MY camp gear would MASSIVELY overload that tongue and since I ride hard, put me in a DITCH. Those wheels need to be farther forward; NOT behind the, wagon. As a trailer tugger, I've experimented a bit, and I found that the main opinion of the Motocampers is correct. 50lbs max.
I agree with you. I’m not a professional builder. I built this as a fun project, learning every step of the way. If I were to build another I would do it much differently. I believe it’s more suited for a trike.

I avoid a lot of rides on my scooter because I am not wanting to pitch a tent and sleep on the ground the pitching of the tent is not a big deal but that sleeping on the ground .... This trailer would be perfect for me and get me out on the slabs more.
What is used for the pop up sky light ? How do you get the curved glass is that a thick clear vinyl ?
I made the frame from 1” square stalk. I filled it with sand and bent it to shape. Then I made a outer frame of flat stalk hinged the bottom end and put a 1/8” piece of Lexan in between the square tube and the outer piece of 2” flat stalk. Please like and subscribe. Lexan is bendable.
How did you shape the plexiglass front roof area to be able to open up like that ? What all did you use
@@busterstravels1534 Hello my brother, thanks for the words, I'm thinking of doing one of these in the future too! I'm from Brazil Rio de Janeiro.
Very cool.
@@busterstravels1534 🇧🇷🤘🇺🇲 ! thank you bro .
Would you care to share the plans?
Sorry Timothy I don’t have a set of plans to share. I kinda just get an idea and go with it. It just evolves as I go. Ty very much for your comment and also subscribing to my channel. Have a great weekend.
Wow you went all out ! Any leaks from roof openings?(that would be my worry) Nice style details!
Thanks Rich, actually no leaks very water tight. I wish I showed better detail of how I did that. I built in a type of rain gutter and weather stripping similar to a car. Ty for watching.
Dude, That is fucking sweet!
Ty 👍. please like and subscribe….
What's the kerb weight of your bike compared to the weight of the trailer?
Hello Lucas, the bike weighs about 850lbs and the trailer is 390 lbs. it would be nice if it was a little lighter. If I was to build another I would definitely cut some weight. Thanks for your comment.
Dave
Fantastic
That is pretty cool.
Awesome!!!!!!!!!
how much does it weigh?
490lbs ty for your comment and question...
Mighty fine job mate. How much does it weigh?
490 LBS.
@@busterstravels1534 Wow... thats a beefy TD
I totally agree. A little less weight would be great. When I was building it I was hoping for less than 400. I learn something with every project. Ty fir your comment.
Great video thanks for sharing how long did take you to build it
A few months.
A few months.
Que projeto fantástico amigo. Muito bom trabalho! 👏👏👏👏👏 Qual peso em kg ficou o reboque após montado?
Morelos Nascimento, Thank you very much for comment.
@@busterstravels1534 , ganhou um inscrito do Sul do Brazil. Bons vídeos amigo. Forte abraço 🤜🤛
Creative design ! Braver than me, pull a loaded Trailor weighs Probley as much as bike. Good job tho !
@@busterstravels1534 me too, Ford van camper. Hit me up if u come west. I’m seattle outskirts area.
@@donpet8258 actually Don that area is on my hopefully check out list. If I get out that far I will take you up on it. Thanks for the invite.
HOw did you waterproof the hatch so that water does not come in between the trailer and the hatch?
I wish I could send a close-up picture. I built a rain gutter into it with a rubber seal. Similar to a car trunk lid.... thanks for your question.
I just watched the video again. If you look close the front view of the hatch open gives a pretty good view of the gutter minus the rubber seal. The rubber is on the underside of the pop. Up. Maybe you can take a screenshot.
Is this made using sheet metal or aluminum?
@@hotrodcasanova3574 sheet metal. Total weight was 390. A bit heavy. I should have used aluminum. 👍
Awesome !!
Thanks Steven….
What was the total weight, and the hitch weight, please?
Til it weighs 490lbs and tongue weight I believe is 85lbs.
That's pretty cool, what's the weight of it?
Hello Doug ty for your comment and question. To title and register it in pa I needed an official weight scale certification which was 490. Lbs.
👍
Awesome ❤😊
How much does it weigh?
390 lbs. thanks for the question.
Man that’s nice
Epic!!
Has anybody ever pulled one of these what does it feel like
Hello Denver, the first time I pulled it it scared me.
CAN YOU BUILD ME ON??? PLEASE!!!!!
Thanks for the comment … please like and subscribe…. Have a great Holiday!
WOOO WEEE NICE BUDDY
Thank you John for subscribing and liking my videos. I see from watching one of your videos that your a very talented man that loves detail. Have a great night and thanks again.👍
What did the weight end up being? Tongue weight?
In pa to register it I needed official weight receipt it came in at 490lbs.
Tongue weight I was hoping for around 75 lbs but ended up with 88. A little heavier then I wanted.
Ty for the question....
Is this for the dog or u?
Was built for his travel and both of us to camp in…
@@busterstravels1534 ok I get it it's really cool
Ty, he loved it but wouldn’t ride in it. Ha! After all that work… so I built a van as seen in some of my other videos he loves traveling in that…. He’s my best friend….
@@busterstravels1534 hmm I have a pug had the same plans like yurs I guess I need to consider other options as well

the dog should be comfortable
How many lbs/kg weight?
I believe 222-26. It’s heavy but doable. Less would be much better.
outstanding
Thank you very much.
Genious!
Marcelo thank you very much for your comment. Thanks for subscribing? Ty again
How much...
PURRfect mate furr my $mart Car42..mmmmm
Twenty five hundred....
Vo fazer um pra mim.
