Bali has great taste salak : Salak Gula pasir. Expensive but really sweet. In contrary, Salak Bali not so sweet. Another good taste salak, come from Yogyakarta : Salak Pondoh. Both Salak Gula Pasir & Salak Pondoh smaller than Salak Bali.

Bangkuang is actually a root so technically a veggy, central and south american have them also in their cuisine. Atemoya (srikaya) also grow in central and south america. Once in South florida I found atemoya in road fruit stall.

if you eats salak you have to remove the second skin under the snake skin like epithel of paper you have to remove it before you eat
try to eat rujak or lotis, the mix of fruits with palm sugar sauce & chilli & kencur is really kicking
