This was written by the legendary Willie Nelson, and it’s definitely Country! I don’t think she was blaming herself for him leaving, she’s blaming herself for ever believing he’d stay in the first place - she was “Crazy” for letting herself believe in him. I’ve been curious about rye for a while so it’s cool to see your thoughts on this one.

She has total control of the emotion she puts in her voice. She is amazing. Yes this is a country song. It was written by Willie Nelson. He sings it and has recorded it. Walking After Midnight is another fantastic song by her. You should check it out.
Patsy was great. Her best freind was Loretta Lynne. This is country. She could almost be considered queen if country and I wonder how far she would have gone had she lived.
She had a voice that would accomodate any genre! She was a great singer, and had to fight with what it was like to be a female country star in the early 60's late 50's. I would classify this song as Country Soul, it was written by Willie Nelson!
Written by Willie Nelson. No doubt, Willie's rendition is coming. Patsy was country, but her music also crossed over. You can hear why. She is one in a long list of stars who died in a plane crash.

Glad to see you basking in the glow of the greatness that is Patsy Cline. Welcome to the fan club. This music is representative of the early evolution of country. Absolutely classic. I think her message is a self admonishment of how "crazy" she must be for loving this man even though she knows how futile her expectations are.
If Patsy Cline was considered country she also was known to be one of the first to ever to sing a style that was popular in the 50s known as rockabilly if you like this style of music the song you should check out by LeAnn Rimes called (Blue) it was originally written for Patsy Cline but she died in the plane crash before she could release it and LeAnn Rimes does a pretty good job of recreating Her Style in the song

Definitely need to do some more Patsy Cline! If you like Patsy Cline voice, you need to give a listen to LeAnn Rimes - Blue
Patsy had so many great songs and we definitely lost her way too soon. Some of of greats are Walking after midnight, She's got you, Sweet Dreams and I Fall to Pieces Also, there are duets of Patsy Cline and Jim Reeves on an album Remembering Patsy Cline and Jim Reeves in the early 80's. Both died in plane crashes in the 60's.
Great reaction video! Terrific performance of a great song. Willie wrote it, sold it for like $25. He said "We were out of groceries" according to the legend. Patsy was a Queen of country. Check out the movie "Coal Miner's Daughter" . I think Beverly D'angelo played her with Sissy Spacek as Loretta Lynne.
The background singers are The Jordanaires. This remarkable quartet were background singers for Elvis Presley prior to his live performances of the 70s. They also sang for Ricky Nelson (among others).
Great reaction! Like many others, I consider Patsy to be one of the greatest female country artists. Patsy Cline mentored Loretta Lynn and they were best friends until Patsy was killed in a plane crash in 63 at 30 years old. I would recommend Walking After Midnight and I Fall to Pieces by Patsy. As well as You Ain't Woman Enough and You're Looking At Country by Loretta Lynn.
Most definitely country. The further you go back into country artists, the genre seems to cross into different genres but back then, there was no such thing as crossover. You were country or you weren't. I think it would be great to have you guys do country by the decade. Starting with the 40's. There are country songs before that but from what my grandpa told me is this is when country music really started to gain more listeners. To see you all's reaction to country from then through now, would be amazing! It has changed a lot since then. I am so glad you got to Patsy. She was an amazing artist who's life was ended way too soon. Most of her songs will touch your soul with that angelic voice. I am so excited you both could hear and appreciate her amazing voice. I think you guys have reacted to LeAnn Rimes once. If you would, please react to her tribute to Patsy Cline at the ACA’s in 2013. It’s really a great recording and LeAnn was considered to be the next Patsy. It’s a really unbelievable performance.
This is a prime example of 1960's "Nashville Sound", piano (that was legendary Floyd Cramer on the piano), background orchestral sounds with multiple strings, and like Elvis Presley, the Jordanaires were the male background singers on many of her recordings.
Patsy Cline was the epitome of country. She did a lot of stuff that crossed over very successfully because of her amazing voice. Patsy Cline with country singer. No question and a great one and when we lost her in a plane crash we lost an incredible talent that would have been called Frank Sinatra for longevity as far as talent goes. Good
I used to spend a lot of times in various clubs around Nashville that had live bands and nearly every female singer who performed would sing Patsy Cline's "Crazy". I heard it so much that I went a little crazy myself and when I heard those first few notes on my radio, I would make a dive to get to it and either turn it off or change stations. Unfortunately, even after all these years, I STILL cannot stand to hear "Crazy". The Patsy Cline songs that I LOVE are "Walking After Midnight" and "I Fall to Pieces". Crazy is a beautiful song, but I just OD'd on it.
In the clips of the black & white TV show on which she's performing, Patsy has a headband across her forehead with some hair held underneath it. That's because she had been in a very serious car crash a few months before this appearance, and the large scar on her forehead had to be covered up / disguised. She'd been in a car that was hit head-on by another car that was on the wrong side of the road, and at the time there was no safety equipment of any kind in vehicles. So accident victims like Patsy were thrown onto the all-metal dashboard and then often into or sometimes through the windshield. Flesh would be ripped or sliced open.
Oh Patsy was Pure Country the Goddess of Country in our world growing up . She and Loretta Lynn became best friends . Loretta was pregnant with her twins when Patsy passed away she named one of the Twins Patsy .
One of the most amazing voices of all time. Another talented artist taken from this life far too young. She was only 30 when she died. Can you imagine if she'd had more time? The comparison to Frank Sinatra is spot on! I've never heard anyone make that connection before but it is accurate.
Patsy was lost much too young...several great hits. Try Leann Rimes "Blue" which was written fot Patsy but she died before she coud record it...fantastic.
This one could be Country or Pop. Willy Nelson was going to record this one but Patsy's stole it from him. Years after she died, he said that he was glad that she did because her vocals were perfect for it

She didn't open doors for future female country singers. She completely kicked the door down and ripped it off of the hinges. Gone entirely too soon
I live an hour from Winchester, VA, where Patsy Cline was born, and she's still a big deal around here. My mom's first husband actually knew her, lived down the street from her when they were kids. I just wonder how things would've gone if she hadn't died in that plane crash.
If she had lived she would have had many more hits .. so sad she passed away in a plane crash.. she really helped Loretta Lynn when Loretta first came out and they became best friends .. Loretta was devastated when Patsy died .. everyone was because it was unexpected and shocking ..
From my understanding almost every singer of her era absolutely loved her in the country community. She tragically died in a plane crash far too soon when she was young.
@@BourbonCountryReacts unless it’s been moved, it was in the hall of fame. Before he wrote this song, no one really knew who he was. This song is what made Willie Nelson famous.
This was written by Willie Nelson and was a gear hit for Patsy, she died in a plane crash. When Leann Rimes came into the country music scene she did this song and her vocals sounded a lot like Patsy’s and Leann was only maybe 14 when she did this remake. She has been compared to Patsy throughout her career.
She sang at the grand ole opry. It’s country. You probably heard this from the movie coal miners daughter when sissy spacek sang it. She played the role of Loretta Lynn. It’s one helluva movie True story the movie is.

The number of songs written by Willie Nelson would blow y’all’s mind!!
Y’all are hearing the legendary Jordanaires in the background.
The band behind Patsy? - Keith
@@BourbonCountryReacts Sorry, no, the background singers. The Jordanaires were a famous singing group.
The great Floyd Cramer is playing the piano on this.
If she had lived she would have had many more hits .. so sad she passed away in a plane crash.. she really helped Loretta Lynn when Loretta first came out and they became best friends .. Loretta was devastated when Patsy died .. everyone was because it was unexpected and shocking ..
Of course the first thing I notice is the Elkhart Lake sweatshirt. Not far from my neck of the woods in WI. This song is a classic also.
From my understanding almost every singer of her era absolutely loved her in the country community. She tragically died in a plane crash far too soon when she was young.
Yeah, driving on that track was a bucket list item. May make it back up there this year for some laps. - Keith
You guys should check out Mandy Barnett. She sounds so much like Patsy Cline it’s amazing.
Country. Written by Willie Nelson. Sounds like Floyd Kramer on piano.
The paper that this song is written on is under protective glass in Nashville. Willie Nelson is a hell of a writer.
Where? In one of the studios? - Keith
I didn't know Patsy died young. And I don't think we have many requests for Leann. - Keith
I've been crazy over a man before...until I realized I was just being stupid in love.
I think we've all been crazy over someone when it wasn't the best of ideas. - Keith
Fun story I won 2nd place in a country lipsync contest when I was 12 doing this song.
She sang at the grand ole opry. It’s country. You probably heard this from the movie coal miners daughter when sissy spacek sang it. She played the role of Loretta Lynn. It’s one helluva movie True story the movie is.
I don't think I've seen the movie. - Keith
Back in 61 they were all country songs, lol..
This song is crazy good! And it is a country song.
I see what you did there. - Keith
