Right?! If Diane get's pregnant you (may) only have to care of one baby. She can only be pregnant once for 9 months. @Clau-chau Nicol I agree with you. Boys who have parents that have this mindset, in my opinion, are only teaching their sons to be irresponsible with their sexual choices. Holding them to the same standard as their daughters will benefit them in the long run. Like how parents want their daughters to be careful, sons should be taught the same thing.
I remember when they brought up the topic of double standards when Dre was bragging about Junior losing his virginity, but then getting upset when he learned Zoe had lost hers. You can't make progress with double standards.
Theres double standards everywhere tho...a woman choses to keep or abort a fetus..a man doesnt have that right and yet has to yeild to the outcome(he cant even choose to have no responsibility for the child as if it were aborted which should be his right shortly after its birth) some men are stuck paying childsupport that were proven to not be their biologically because the courts want someone to hold that financial burden. In the US, boys are circumsized cause "its cleaner" or "it looks better" yet there is no chant about his body his choice. If we want to talk about double standards, we also have to be willing to take down the ones that hurt men or benifit women.

Right?! If Diane get's pregnant you (may) only have to care of one baby. She can only be pregnant once for 9 months. Jack can impregnate as many girls as he wants - and how many babies will y'all have then? This makes it worse when people say "but the mother's family will take care of them" and let the father run around like crazy. This way of thinking has to stop immediately. I'm so surprised Bow is even acting like this with her feminism and medical degree - oop and an OLDER daughter.

Stop protecting girls more than boys ;)
@@2laniful what makes you say this dude????
@@2laniful Protecting? When has the world ever protected young girls huh black or not.
@@jeanmehu6299 that is what the parent's are doing. They think the girl needs more protection than the boy.
@@briworld9649I don't know about the world but I will protect women and children as long as I am strong enough to do so
Blackish can only get away with this message because Bow and Dre are being hypocrites. And I expect this of Dre but I don't think Bow would be so hyped about her son kissing someone. But there are lots of families that hold their sons to the same standard as their daughters, and I *thought* Bow was that kind of parent.
And now that I think about it, didn't they do this exact same plotline a while ago with Junior and Zoey? Didn't Dre and Bow learn there lesson then? They even used the exact same "boys will be boys" line then and it feels just as non-subtle then as it does now.
I remember that episode too, and to me it just felt real. Parents say they’ve learned and they understand, but they don't. Not really. This is why the issue came up again with Diane and Jack. Bow and Dre didn't learn, instead they channeled all of that behaviour into Diane and Jack. Very realistic portrayal even if it was unintended.lol
The fuck your a hypocrite too Anakin was congratulated by palpating for having sex with Palme and you didn’t say a word and I quote “good Anakin good, fuck her, fuck her now” you didn’t stop palpating then did you? The Jedi are full of hypocrites or so it seems.
My parents didn’t even let me wear nail polish til I was 14 or 15 cuz it was too grown 😓 how tf does that make sense
i wanted to wear heels my freshman year of high school and my mom told me no because "she wasn't ready to see me in heels yet". i literally got my first pair of heels my senior year of high school because my mom and stepdad were getting married. SENIOR YEAR.
omw, Jack is now taller than Diane
Yup i always wondered who was the oldest between the two
@@_noemi_9687 its Diane
@@_noemi_9687 she said it in a couple episodes that shes older
Yeah I know finally lol
Watch he's going to get a growth spurt then be taller than junior
The same thing happened with me and my brothers. Also let’s not forget that boys can get MULTIPLE girls pregnant while girls are pregnant for 9 months.
Not really boys wear condoms
@@calmingvids9585 some of the little fuckers poke holes in it, and if you going to get someone pregnant you stay with them but nooo the “things” just leave
Wow the double standard is disgusting. I'm glad that my parents didn't treat me and my brother like this and that we both had to have the conversation about relationships and hormones equally
Me and my wife got a 10 year old daughter , and I keep having minor heart attacks trynna make her understand how dangerous social medial and the internet can be in terms of sharing her images, videos and thoughts.........................I watch blackish cause its both hilarious and always has its pulse on real life challenges that black families face, globally!!!!
It is really hard to teach the children the difference between what people think and do online. Because online is forever. Keep up the good work !
You should watch it with your daughter! This show can get the conversation going
@@justagirl4627 we do, she loves it too...........
The same as tiktok
Globally ✨👌
No cause this is actually true, when junior wasn’t a virgin anymore he was so happy to throw a celebration for him but when bow told him about Zoey, he was being so extra
She is SO right about girls being treated indifferent in the family comparing to boys. Been there🙋🏻♀️
“Because he can’t get pregnant.”
“But he could get somebody else pregnant!?”
This actually reminds me of what my friend told me about how her parents talk with her vs her brother when she went through puberty. When her older brother was about to go into high school her dad told him to be careful and gave him some condoms and not to be afraid to ask him for more. But when she was about to go into high school both her parents told her she better not think about having sex because if she got pregnant she’d need to find some where else to live.
I was always confused by this and how if a guy has a lots of girl friends and sex he’s a player/stud. But if a girl has a lot of boyfriends or even hinted to have sex she’s a slut.
I’m a boy btw lol.
Thank you!
I’d also like to mention why do the guy’s get help in raising they child, but when the girl gets pregnant their immediately thrown out and homeless
Man Diane endures a lot of gaslighting and it’s so frustrating to watch! She deserved better!
"He can get someone pregnant."
At the end of my Quince (party for when I turn 15) while we were putting things away I was waiting for my mom. So I was just standing around thinking about taking that dang dress off. And from the corner of where I was I hear my cousin(older than me) and a few of my tias along with my mom talking. I heard something along the lines of "Well at least she's not pregnant!!🤣🤣🤣" they were all laughing while I held back my tears. Because I knew they would say stuff behind my back if I was pregnant. Hearing this from people I love really hurts. I already know how some of my family can be, and it really disgusts me, but what more can I do? I'm still a kid in there eyes.
Diane is completely right of course, but to defend her parents, she has way more potential than Jack...
Also, Diane would probably point out that, since she is legitimately smarter, she should be given more autonomy...
Damn, I am really glad that I don't have kids right now... parenting teenagers just seems like a lose-lose these days...
Lol it rlly does
Pretty much.
I feel like our parents try to teach us to keep everything in and not show anything because creepy men might look at us and people might judge us. They should just teach the creepy men not to be creepy. Especially for girls
I know right?
But it also warns us about those creepy men too. They are out there no matter if we like it or not. They are protecting us from the inside just one tactic to keep us safe.
@@tammibrown5074 This is how I feel creepy men or not they’re going to do whatever they want you could be wearing a big baggy sweater in there still try to do something to you
@@yoag1108 they are trying to protect you but then I protect you in the right way
@Tomicaa then if they can't teach creepy men don't teach girls
I can't believe we still have to have these conversations in 20 damn 20. SMH.
Great scene. Diane spoke the truth. Also, the twins REALLY emphasize their 'Ts' when they speak. Must be the private schooling.
Good catch!
Noticed that too!!

@@gbidlviefb5112 The education part is implied by my reference to their schooling, but thanks for being redundant. Besides, it more likely stems from directions from the director or an acting coach. It was just a lighthearted comment. No offense was intended. Dayum!
It’s just diction lol
“but he can get someone pregnant”- Diana johnson
they are so supportive. my mom had a meltdown when I had my face in a polaroid that was posted on social media, saying that my body is basically hers as I'm her child
"but he can get someone pregnant"👏👏👏👏well said
This isn’t just for people of colors it’s so true that men and women get treated differently in regards to what society will let them post. Like she said, her brother gets to post pictures without his shirt off but she can’t even wear lipstick. Families and society have WAY too high and strict expectations/guidelines for what girls can do vs what guys can do. They’re way more strict on us and it sucks.
See this needed to be shown cause I definitely relate to my parents treating me and my little brother differently all our lives they claim they don’t but they do smfh. And it’s sad and frustrating that a lot of girls go through this at home or even out in the world.
Dre's beard is top tier, also glad this show exists, they touch on some important topics
Diane be the realest character
I mean i would get backhanded for a lot of that + the facial expressions😂 but..... Yeah sis be on it.
its crazy how they address such major issues in a relatable way. love this show !!!
I like that they’re focusing more on jack and Diana. Now that they’re growing up they have much more complex storylines. And I’m here for it.
“But he can GET someone pregnant” thiiiiiisssseeee
Literally had to have this conversation with my mom and she just gets pissy
Diane out here throwing folks under the bus.
Damn it be ur own family
I swear 🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣
As she should if they are being unfair
I grew up in a house of women there were no double standards to make this particular incident relatable per se. .the overall theme of women having to curb our sexuality or how we choose to express it; is the real tone of the episode and that is extremely relatable
I want Diane to get her own show. Just please don’t make her stereotypical if they do give her own show...it’s a shame I even have to add that part 🤦🏾♀️.
Lol...no more Spinoffs from this show... Lol
Haven't watched this show in a long time and, damn, the kids have grown have grown up so much! 😮😮😮😮
There are so many parents that don't realize that they are doing this and it sucks. And then there are the parents who don't care that they do this. But that's another story. Diane was right. Everything about what she said was spot on
As a single mama raising a girl I felt that to my soul
Diane looks cute af with that haircut!🤩
I've never seen or heard about this show and clicked on it because I was bored but I am SO glad I did.
I think every single girl can relate to this. When I first started dating at 16 me and my bf at the time weren't allowed to sleep near each other, if he stayed over he had to stay downstairs and this was the case for a year (age of consent in UK is 16 btw so no law against us doing anything).
My brother gets a gf at 14, she is allowed upstairs in his bedroom all day and night. Called my parents out on it but they just denied doing anything differently 😒
In America, the state that I live in, NJ, the age of consent is 16, also. But, people will still say not to have sex cuz that’s still young and other reasons.
What Diane said is so true30-40 years ago and now
Just another shining example of why Diane is my all time Fav
Dre said, "My Boy" "because he can't get pregnant" - Ah so much for black ish
Honestly I loved Jack's last comment it was just proving Diane's point.
This is misogyny at its finest
The pain of being sexually harassed by a boy and when you speak up about it you just get told "boys will be boys"; so you just have to accept it. I have so many traumatic experiences with men. I wore a short out in public once and a man said to me "you wear things like that and then you get angry when we rape you". I have so much social anxiety now, I don't even like to leave the house unless it's absolutely necessary
We don’t care
@@Derrixk and that's why the entire world hates you. i bet you can literally think about this right now and you wont come up with one person who genuinely likes you. If you don't care about others' plight, you're the worst monster.
I agree. Honesty i hate double standards, And i’ll be damned if i raise my daughters or sons like this
also the jump from lipstick and an article of clothing to her being able to become pregnant 🙄
