What you are doing is never a fail when you do your best but don’t get the finish. You are an inspiration. These are all building blocks. I believe in you!
Nice finish to your IMTUF story! I really appreciate your perspective and openness about the day not going as planned, and your dedication to getting that buckle... You will get one, then another, then another...they become addictive. IMTUF is a Hardrock qualifier for good reason, it was my 3rd 100 and the first to really humble me, the first but not the last to have the DNF demon whispering in my ear. Wish you the best on the journey and will keep an eye out for you at future start lines!
It’s a damn good race to have on the radar for sure! They don’t hand the buckles out that’s for sure, earned. Hope you chase after it one day! Cheers and thanks for watching man! Subscribe if you haven’t already!🙌🏻
Hey man, Good on you for toeing the line, giving it a go and putting this content out there. I made a huge mistake in the first 30 miles of this course! I didn't realize how much I screwed up until the gal at the AS was really short and snippy when speaking with me. I reached mile 60 about 15 minutes after the cutoff and took my first DNF. What a freakin lesson. I am so humbled. I'm amped to go back and give it another go...I will hold off until my kids are a little older, but I can't wait. Great job out there: KEEP GOING!
Hey Tuco thanks for watching! Mad respect for anyone out there pushing there limits, mind and body! I will keep fighting because that’s what we do, a lot to be learned from a DNF…mostly about yourself and how to get better. Thanks again for following along! We have more adventures on the way! 🤙🏼
Felt every bit of this brother! I know this feeling when i attempted my run last year in AZ. I DNF'd. I'm not done though. My 1st race after a year off will be the SmokeChaser in Sept. I'll never be satisfied with never completing something and it's why i love ultra running! Good luck brother in your future runs! I know you'll give it 100% all the time, every time! "Foward is the Pace!"
Forward is the pace!! There is always so much to learn from these things, mostly about ourselves! Thanks so much for watching and supporting us brother! Maybe we can hit a training run this summer!🤙🏼
Well bro I'm the dread beard guy from UMTUF finish line last year. I've been watching your videos and you're an inspiration to me for sure. I'm up here at Belmont now training like crazy for my 1st try at UMTUF this fall. I'll be running Farragut Friday. My house to Bayview and back. Good to see your still at it! "D"
Hey Darrell! I’m sorry I missed you running out here! And I’m so pumped you’re going after IMTUF! A damn beast that will reward you as much as punish you. If you wanna do a run sometime let me know! Or just grab a coffee at Ralph’s!
Have you tried carrying Bonnie or Dramamine for altitude sickness? It cuts out the headaches/nausea symptoms, but you'll still suffer from a mild case of HAPE and the whole heart racing issue.
Aaa yes! I know now! Haha always learning. But as I’m sure you know, next time it will be something completely different that I’ve never had🤣 just gotta get better at dealing with the suck I guess🤪 Thanks for watching and commenting! Really appreciate it🤙🏼
