ZUN already said It's false, but if you consider the face that IN was at some point Touhou's 'finale' and it was supposed to have a Extra stage relating to Sakuya.
Maybe that was the original plan.

If I remember right, the Fujiwara clan basically controlled the Imperial government of Japan in the 1200s or so. So, the historical reference is there

I think it was the 9th to 12th centuries rather than the 1200s though.
I mean, there members of the Imperial Family of Japan who still do have relation to the Fujiwara, but really the political influence of the Fujiwara is gone.

On why Kaguya was senteced to death:
Living creatures produce impurity, a metaphysical death aura, as time goes on, while long-living Lunarians have very little of it on average. An immortal can instantly ressurect which basically means they have super growth. Super growth leads to intense death aura which is almost lethal to Lunarians. This is also why fairies are not seen on the true moon.

Mokou was clearly designed when ZUN was drunk. So, she has those paper charms all over herself - hair, pants, shoes... but nothing clearly visible on the shirt. These charms are used in religion for various reasons, including protection. And considering the fire attacks in fighting games...

I am not a gamer but was trying to get some context on a pianist who performed an incredible version of this game's music, so now I see why the composer repeated certain leitmotifs and themes within the songs. loled at the moon landing bit ty

So how did the fake moon that Eirin created work? Was it just like the true full moon but with a missing part? Why couldn't she made it complete from the start?
This is a good question actually, I double checked the character bios and found this: Kaguya's profile states that the Lunarians are only able to travel to the earth during a full moon, so an incomplete moon would ensure the route between the moon and earth is super restricted

Wriggle was the 2nd to wear pants, Yuuka did it first in Lotus Land Story and Mystic Square. Though, Wriggle is the first pants wearer on Windows so I get why you said that.

Nice summary! I knew most bullet points about the characters and their motivations already, but the whole event is so convoluted that seeing this video was a pretty good help and reminder about what was actually going on.

I mean, imagine you're 70 and suddenly the very same kid you treated as an apprentice back when you were 20 came back and not only does he still looks like a kid, you are absolutely certain it's him as well

Wow I can't get enough of people making lore videos of touhou, and you are a really good at it too!! But they always end up stuck at th9 lmao i hope you break the curse (or skip to th10 lmao).
Also for your information, you could use a program called "thprac" touhou practice to softmod your game (it will not change game files) and give yourself infinite lives, invincibility and skip to any stage you want. And yes by it's name it is really good for practicing harder stages. Enjoy this information as much as I enjoyed this vid ^^

10:40 well AKSHUALLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY the reason it's written Tewi (てゐ)and not Te'i (てい) is because the wi kana (ゐ) is actually archaic and no longer in modern use in japan, it was eliminated during the post-WWII orthographic reforms. The reason it's "supposed" to be pronounced "Te'i" is because this kana is commonly now replaced and read as i (い). It can be argued that the archaic kana is supposed to show the dating age of the character dating far back. This "correct" pronounciation is only "correct" in MODERN Japanese. In "þe olden tymes", it would indeed actually be pronounced "Tewi"
As in Silent Sinner in Blue, the two Princess of the Moon (Toyohime and Yorihime) stated that human and youkai in Gensokyo stand no chance against Lunarians
