I have watched thousands of dance videos and dance performances and this will always be my favorite dance. I cannot say the emotions I feel while watching this. Jeremy you are an amazing choreographer, thank you for sharing this piece with the world
I’ve choreographed so many pieces and none that are as captivating and amazing as this. This is true artistry. I feel so full and so emotional watching this. Beautiful beautiful job. So inspiring.
May or may not be the 10th time I've watched this. Focusing on one single dancer each time I've watched it, there's so much more I see. it's such a complex piece in terms of choreography, and lyrically with the music, the accenting of music with the beat is genius. best piece I've seen in a very very long time, bravo!!
The depth of the choreography paired with this song is overwhelming. I love this song, so I perceive it as this: Daughter’s album that this song is featured on painfully explores the idea of grieving self through reflection. Each song wrestles with loathing, even to the point of wishing to have never been birthed. It’s a somber reckoning that she can’t escape the one that causes her the most pain again and again: herself. The “If You Leave” album is relentlessly isolating, forcing the listener to sit with themself and meditate on their worst hidden shame; reconciling the thought that if someone knew them fully, then they would not be wanted at all. The reason this dance is so powerful to me is because the choreography recognizes that narrative, but does so without the isolation. The dancers represent a shared despair that mutually comforts and reminds that they are not alone, even if they’ve convinced themselves internally. They are equally flawed, but their worth and value exists separate from their flaws. Instead they’re seen and understood. The song allowed space for me to grapple with that idea, but the dance allowed space for me to know that I’m not alone.
When my daughters were i dance school they would never get this coordinated. The dance teacher just didn't care about the team succeeding as a team. These dancers and they teacher clearly know how to really make a dance team!
where are these costumes from they are absolutely stunning just like the amazing choreography god I love this song and this dance totally does it justice wow
You know I went read up on that word and learned all kinds of new and interesting information. Its meaning and how its connected with other parts of the "Tree of Life" was quite interesting.
I've never been so captivated in a piece through video! I completely understood the choreo. It was beautiful! Please check out my dance concept video if you get the chance!
Such a perfect match of movement to music: alternatively lyrical and staccato.
One of my favorite pieces of choreography of all time.
Three words come to mind: shapes, accents, and texture. They all blend really well together with this music to make one feel moved. Well done.
Its fantastic!! So gently and so easily but emotionally
