Ace is honest, but don't be fooled. His life was ruled by his addictions. I'm sure you know or knew at least one person with addiction problem and you know how they act. One day they are your best friend, the other day... Add to this the fact that fame got to his head and he was the best actor in Phantom movie ;)

I love Ace. One of my favorite KISS songs he wrote is 'Parasite'. It's a heavy track, which Anthrax beautifully covered later.

Ace, as a player is weird. At the same time, he can be both the best and the worst player that Kiss has ever had. Technically, he is actually pretty bad. But his style of playing gives the music a 'feel' that is very hard to duplicate. If you ever watch/hear him play on his own, you would think that he has played guitar for only a year or two. But when you him on stage with Kiss, he kind of brings magic.

ACE is just cool....not over bearing in your face cool but just cool and down to earth. Definitely the coolest member of KISS ever.
Ace is by far the most likeable and real of all the Kiss members. No wonder he no longer plays with what is essentially a brand name now.

Got to give Ace credit, he doesnt bull shit, says he do this for what and why he wouldnt do that for this. I wouldnt go the the farewell tour unless he was part of it that for sure. Peter, I would want to, but that sentiment is not as strong has having Ace's guitar in there. Don't care what anyone sez, Ace Frehley is one fo the best and always has been. Glad he has cleaned up his act, but even he admits, his actions caused allot of the issues with his old band mates.
I will not see any Kiss shows without Ace plain and simple. No Ace no Kiss for me!!!

If Ace could still play like the icon he once was, he wouldn't have this hang-up with Tommy.

Frehley fails to explain that his girlfriend was his drug connection.That's why she wasn't allowed . Frehley had become undependable erratic from drug use before the shows.Frehley also doesn't say he hit Thayer with his back turned as he was walking away.
For those who doubt Frehley struck Thayer from behind ask him.

He also fails to say why they wanted Tommy long before he performed on stage. Tommy was a true team player and did so much with coordinating and did writing too before becoming the Spaceman. The Spaceman persona belongs to Kiss not Ace. And Tommy has now become the Kiss Spaceman for a longer amount of time than Ace. He's not acting like Ace, he's being what the whole of Kiss needs him to be. Too, although I validate why Ace was upset, there is a difference between wives and a girlfriend. He talks like he's proud of that violence. This sounds like the old unsober Ace. Granted, his habit gave him a style on stage, but I would prefer anyone healthy and respectful. Best of luck to both Spacemen. Special thanks to Tommy for being responsible with health and a team player for what the whole of what Kiss has needed to keep going so many years. 🤟🏻
@@tcconnection Although Frehley's re-union contract stated he remain sober he wasnt..Gene and Paul thought about calling the whole tour off when his playing became too unpredictable.. When Peter bailed for the Japan leg of the Farewell tour Frehley straightened out...The initial plan was to continue with Ace ,Eric...but then Ace went out of control,missed 3 dates..then became missing for months...When he returned he was obviously strung out..Paul Gene refused to sign him sent him to get healthy...they were willing to take him back if he was clean....By the time he wanted back Thayer had earned his spot.

It ranks somewhere in the middle for me of their best albums. Great message. Had the movie came out along with it as promised at the time, I'm sure it would have done much better sales wise. *** The only Kiss album that featured the lineup of Gene, Paul, Ace, & Eric Carr.***

Things I learned from Frehley: 1) How to be a drunk; 2) How not to show up to record band songs but only his songs; 3) How to quit the biggest band in the world not once but twice and still demand a seat at the table when money is to be made; 4) How to use only first person pronouns and still talk about a 40 year old solo record; 5) How to be late for concerts when 25,000 people are depending on you.

I was a huge Kiss fan when I was a kid in the 70's. Ace on his own has always sucked. He is a lame singer, songwriter, and player. I don't get all the attention. He gets a lot of mileage from being in Kiss.
and you're wrong, to a point. I've never cared for his singing. His playing has done nothing but improved through the years so your'e way off about that.
Whatever is beyond washed up has been, that’s where kiss lives.
