You've probably been told before, but an R-89 is NOT a 1989 model. The 89 refers to the last year of the 4 year warranty that the jukeboxes had. My R-90 was built in 1986. The R89 was built in 1985.
Todd, I own a Rowe AMI R-92 LA Combo with the Pioneer 6 cd player, with all the field service and parts manuals, plus trouble shooting error code manual dated 1st edition 2nd printing 1988. Rowe models were made four years prior to the model R-92 listed on the jukebox. All of my R-92 manuals have a 1st printing 1st edition 1987/88 inside the front cover. FYI !
I think the Rowe AMI jukebox models are named for the year their five year warranty is good through. I own an R-81 and the year it was issued was 1977. So, I think you might have is a sweet looking 1985 Rowe there. Thanks for your great Jukebox videos!!
TNT Amusements Inc I've seen a few on youtube. don't hold that many but I'd rather have a machine touch them than me. Grandpa's some of them are near 100 yrs old. and even cracked they still play. (some 45's do but not 33's ) 16 speed? O_O don't have one yet. brother has a record for that. do have a 78 thats the size of a 45 though. a clown recording. very hard to play that one (the hole is the tip off. size of a 45 but the hole is that of a 78/33)
Someone in the warehouse placed the 45 of THE HAPPENINGS - SEE YOU IN SEMPTEMBER, but it had a big bad crack in it, so the jukebox tonearm skipped the 19 times!! It was Nick. Todd was very nice to take it off the jukebox cause he now understands that he is trying to find a better copy for his 41rst birthday!
No, you would never do that to a customer, besides that record was in the jukebox, and the owner still has it. This one I was talking about was in my collection, it is 28 years old this month.
Love all your videos Todd! I have this same jukebox(R89). It works very well except that the large speaker at the bottom looks completely shot! The sound is still surprisingly good though. Is there a good substitution speaker available? I imagine getting an original replacement speaker from Rowe would be next to impossible.
My jukebox worked when I bought it from this lady! But when I changed out records & put the names on it they don't pick up the right record to the label? Do u start on a certain place when u put the record in?
Great video,....I'm looking for one of three jukeboxes for my home,....R-90 "Sapphire" from 1986,...R-91 "Sapphire" from 1987,....and maybe this R-89 from 1985,....the "Sapphire" model,...but my favorite one for now is the R-91. Do you see these come in very often? You guys still have not responded to my emails! Thanks Dewey,...aka "NorfolkSouthern1068"
I had an R94 45 rpm. I got screwed when I sold it. 50 dollars I thought it no longer works. So the guy calls me and said it’s working. Oh really! Loaded with Elvis and Sinatra records. So I said I’ll take it back. He said no I sold it for 600 dollars. I got screwed big time.
never seen inside this specific model. Usually it was the bubble style :) had one up in a bar in Hayward WI. and on came Def Leppard's Women. parents would get upset whenever I put that one in. :)

The R-89 was made in 1984. The Rowe model number indicates the end of warranty. The warranty ended for R-89, in 1989.
I enjoy when Todd goes back in time. Very funny and intelligent man.
thank you Mike...wish my wife thought so!

Jason Kralicek I thought the R94 was made in 1994 though...the final year I think was 95.

will do one if we ever get a 78rpm machine in...OR, we get a reality show and a budget to do other stuff.

Nicholas Serio its off the jukebox and smashed into 1000 pieces now!

Naturally funny guy. Plus--informative video.

Tiene en venta alguno????
A jukebox that plays "RECORDS"! What a revelation that is! Du-uh!
Does this model have a random-play or shuffle feature?

Glad you enjoyed it!
Pizza Hut I worked at had one of those. I think all Red Roof Pizza Huts Had Rowe's in their stores.
Ahhhh...the old days!
TNT Amusements Inc Those machines had such super sound. Better than Bose for sure!
If you were to manually turn the disc holder, would it lose track of position and select the wrong disc?
no...it would figure it all out when turned back on and it re-orients itself
Diamond or Demon needles... i guess the demon needle plays devil music right :-)
Demon needles sound more mysterious!
If it okays the revered backwards, you can hear the devil's message .
I have a Seeburg Fleetwood from 1966
No doubt named after Cadillac's famous car!
Well you know more than me. Being in Australia does not help.
who came after they saw this on fall out boy-immortals?
You look tired but happy., my dear.
ALways tired, but always happy!
