I’m seeing how Cleveland has changed in 12 years since I left . In that time I came back and stayed as my mother was in the neurological ICU at the Cleveland clinic. It’s hard losing my family and only a few cousins left that are are distant from me. But watching all this brings me back . It’s bittersweet with tears Thank you !
You must have a very good job that allows you to fly to different places in the country and also, affords you the opportunity to show points of interest in each city. I'm glad to see that the Rapid is still running and has made some improvements.
I just went through your videos and I see that you did go to Little Italy. Oh boy, I’m gonna watch that one next.!! before I left Ohio, I was living in Parma Heights, so I’m watching theParmatown video too!! This is great thank you! So happy seeing this you have no idea
Very informative! My family is from NE Ohio and I've been thinking about moving to Cleveland for a while now. Would be nice to live in a city with a subway again. Haven't been back to Cleveland since the 90s.
This is a bit late of a comment, but I just now got the opportunity to finish the video but the 49 bus route no longer exists, 26 just continues down Center Ridge to Crocker Park after Westgate, 26A goes via Detroit Rd to Crocker park after Westgate.
Be aware! I think that a construction process is currently going on at Tower City, so you may have to board in a completely different spot. www.riderta.com/riders-alerts/red-line-riders-tower-city-service-track-adjustments
Thanks for the video i was tryna use gps where the train station is but couldn't see where in the building i need to go too. I would've walked all the way too the back if there aint no signs
I am new to this site. I did not know Cleveland was the first city in the Western Hemisphere to have a direct rail line to the airport. NYC has good transit to two airports but not direct. Philadelphia where I live, does have a direct rail link to the airport, directly from downtown.
I take RTA's word for it that it is true (Cleveland being the first), but when I Google it, no national sites or history books really mention who the first was. This article by the Plain Dealer discusses the history of the proclamation and construction of it: www.cleveland.com/news/erry-2018/11/fccebd53c921/rtas-worldfirst-public-airport.html
YEAH @@PokoTraveler ,IT WAS 1969,I REMEMBER IT WELL 'CAUSE RTA DIDN'T CAPITALIZE ON IT BY EXPANDIN' THE SYSTEM EVEN FURTHER WITH LINES RUNNIN' NORTH & SOUTH THRU OUT THE CITY...MISSED OPPURTUNITY IF YOU ASK ME! NOW CLEVELAND IS ABOUT TO BECOME THE FIRST CITY TO DOWNGRADE IT'S HEAVY RAIL TO LIGHT RAIL!! ONLY IN CLEVELAND!! I THINK THIS IS THE BEGINNIN' OF RAIL BEIN' DISMANTLED TOTALLY IN CLEVELAND IN 20 YEARS!! AGAIN....ONLY IN CLEVELAND! TAKE ONE GIANT LEAP FORWARD;AND 3 GIANT LEAPS BACKWARD....THAT FREAKIN' CLEVELAND FOLKS!!
My dad and I used to use the Rapid quite a bit to get to Indians or hockey games. (Whatever minor league Cleveland team exists at the time we've had a few). We'd get on at Brook Park and get off at Tower City. was cheaper than paying for parking downtown.
I'll probably do another video at some point on it, but I stopped in both Arcades here: ua-cam.com/video/5xfLoJA0x9U/v-deo.html I've also had a little footage of it during some of my previous Downtown Cleveland Christmas videos.
I was thinking that most big cities probably had it by now, but when I recently researched Pittsburgh and Indianapolis (I haven't been to either), I was surprised that neither had a subway or train from the airport; just a regular ol' bus.
@@PokoTraveler It’s odd because Pittsburgh does have a light rail system, I just don’t think it connects to the airport. I have read that Columbus is now the biggest city in America without some sort of passenger rail system.
OKAY WINNIETHEPOO,DON'T GET STARTED ON CBUS...IT'S ONLY BIGGER 'CAUSE CLEVELAND & CINCY DON'T ANNEX ANYTHING! AND IF CINCI HAD FINISHED THEIR SUBWAY IT WOULD HAVE BEEN BIGGER THAN CBUS & CLEVELAND MOST LIKELY! CBUS IS A JOHNNY COME LATELY....MAYBE WHEN IT GROWS UP;IT MIGHT BE DENSE ENOUGH FOR RAIL!!
Cleveland does have Fan Expo (which is a multi-fandom convention in downtown cleveland) so the airport and the red line (train in this video) is definitely a big help to attend Fan Expo
I don't know why they can't do a line from The BrookPark Station up BrookPark Rd To Peral Rd and then South to Brunswick to the LaSalle Square Shopping Center 😊
Not the best, but Cleveland is so lucky to have it. Many other North American cities would kill for such a system.

I see you hit 4K. Awesome!!! Keep it coming!
I haven't been in tower city in a few years. Glad it's gotten fixed and remodeled. It was a such a mess a few years back. Great video
That was my trek almost everyday in the mid to late 70's.
Pretty much unchanged.
Thank you for taking us along.
The station shows it's age, but it still gets the job done!

Wow, I’ve never seen the entryway from the train into the airport. Very nice.
Thank you so much for taking the time video and than upload it. You are my angel. I will need it for the next month in November 2023
Nice, I hope it prepared you well!
I am still proud that the city I grew up in was the first to provide a train to the airport. Thanks for the video Polo Traveler.

Dude. I like your film. I had to give up driving years ago and have to take the 41 Noble bus to the Windermere red line
Great video wish Amtrak would move there

Very nice! I think RTA has improved! Your videos are great! 😊
Amtrak needs to move to Tower City. This would be safer and even more pedestrians traffic at TC. Cleveland Rocks.
✨TOWER CITY/ THE TERMINAL TOWER WILL LIVE FOREVER! ITS AMAZING AND I LOVE IT! ✨
Tower City is still probably one of the best metro stations in America, They don't even have anything close to that in Chicago which is suprising
Fantastic, about to take the rapid first time
Be aware! I think that a construction process is currently going on at Tower City, so you may have to board in a completely different spot.

Oh really. Okay good to know. Hopefully theirs signs or something
Really helpful thank you.
I used to Ride This Line in the Early 70s, Then Moved to Phoenix Arizona and stayed, Drove Phoenix Tranit for 20 years 😊

Columbus is bigger than both Cleveland and Cincinnati combined in city population and land area, yet we don’t even have this. Hopefully soon

What camera do you use?
I use the DJI Pocket 2 Creater Combo: amzn.to/3VHGX7Q

I plan entire trips around "can I ride a train to and from the airport" and "do they have a local anime convention?"
